“crawford could be another yank legend like broner and lacy.”
Clearly you haven’t seen Crawford fight. He’s way better than Broner and Lacy. Broner the fat lazy sewer rat moved up in weight to avoid fighting better boxers like Crawford and Abril. If you knew what you were talking about you’d know Crawford is a special talent. Far better than the likes of Broner and Lacy put together.Posted January 3, 2014 10:27 pm

Mr gav you don’t have a clue about boxing, up until last week you hadn’t even seen Crawford box and yet you still claimed he would win without any knowledge other than someone else’s opinion. You’re a joke when it comes to boxing opinion.
Ozzy you’re even worse, you simply haven’t got a clue and that will proven when Ricky Burns gets taken apart in the same way Kovalev took Cleverly apart, but luckily or maybe not so lucky for Ricky is that it will take a few more rounds before Burns is STOPPED midway through the fight (if he’s lucky enough to last that long)
Crawford is far better than Ricky Burns. The comparison with Sweet P Whitaker is there for all to see, Terence Crawford is a special talent, in the same way Pernell was, and they have a similar style. Crawford is the best 135 in the world (perhaps only Richard Abril can give Crawford serious problems. I rate Richard very highly after his 12 round schooling of Brandon Rios and yet he was robbed in the worse decision of any fighter I’ve seen in many years.
Crawford v Abril would be a great fight and a tough one to choose a winner.
As for Burns, he’s going down, it won’t go the distance, Crawford by stoppage.
Easy to see, for those who KNOW what they are talking about.Posted January 3, 2014 2:45 pm
last chance for burns to get back to looking good.Posted January 3, 2014 9:53 am
Props to Burns, this is a step up from his last fight. This is how champions should react to questionable decisions. Fight better opposition. Definitely his hardest fight.Posted January 2, 2014 7:57 pm
Crawford is not overrated. At least not in my eyes. They way he has won his fights, how he rarely gets hit, stays in front of you, makes you miss and pay. Looks good with the eye test to me.Posted January 2, 2014 5:18 pm
He may just be going by Burns last fight in which Beltran clearly won but was robbed by a draw.Posted January 2, 2014 5:16 pm
The vast majority of Burns fans know about Crawford and are not ignorant to him at all in my experience as everyone i speak to think this is an extremely tought fight for Ricky, by far the hardest of his career, and the idea he wont get a fair shot in Glasgow, not Glascow, and wont even get a decision if he wins every round is just more garbage from this writer who is clearly ignorant to anything or anyone outside the US for me.Posted January 2, 2014 4:59 pm
I don’t like the hype surrounding Crawford comparing him to Whitaker. Remember Judah was Whitaker with a punch? GTFO. Still, he’s a gifted boxer and I think he’s too slick for Burns.Posted January 2, 2014 4:16 pm
I’ve seen Crawford at least half a dozen times and it’s enough to know that what I’m reading here is total BS. The BS about Crawford is so over the top that I really wonder if you lot have seen him fight?? Crawford is extremely over-rated and if Ricky can get back to his best form it will be enough to send Crawford and more importantly Arum back to the States with new found respect for Burns. Ricky will be more determined for this fight than any of his others as he feels he has been pressurized to fight when he’s recovering from a genuine injury – he will die before letting the WBO and Arum take his belt.Posted January 2, 2014 3:22 pm
The toughest of his career? That’s really saying something. Ricky is in for another bumpy one.Posted January 2, 2014 2:41 pm
Burns looked lacking in his last couple of fights.Maybe that will push Burns to new heights in this fight…he will need it,good fight here!!!Posted January 2, 2014 2:38 pm
Crawford should win this but then ive bet against Burns in the past and got burnt.Posted January 2, 2014 2:33 pm
Crawford will this fight. He has better skills and more talent. Burns only chance is to catch him cold. Crawford is going to have to take it and dominate this fight . Close decisions won’t go his way. Terence Crawford wins a 12 round UD.Posted January 2, 2014 1:12 pm
Broner*Posted January 2, 2014 1:07 pm
After Crawford loses he could go back home and maybe fight Boner, battle of the also rans.Posted January 2, 2014 1:06 pm
Sorry man, but Katsidis and Mitchell are no Crawford. Crawford is probably boxing’s best kept secret and is a talented technician. Beltran is underrated too. Can’t see Burns taking this one.Posted January 2, 2014 12:20 pm
What about the fight he lost to the american but was given a gift decisionPosted January 2, 2014 11:21 am
Absolutely. I will take Crawford by decision in this one. If he had trouble with Beltran, he surely will have some serious trouble with Crawford.Posted January 2, 2014 9:58 am
Big test for both fighters’ 12 championship rounds doesnt matter wat the scorecards say after 6 or 7 rounds. Everybody can say wat they like before a fight takes place but thats why we have the fights nothings won on paper. A wud make crawford slight favourite but thats allPosted January 2, 2014 9:27 am
who ever is the main man at 135 its not burns.Posted January 2, 2014 9:18 am
Best chance for Burns is to out tough Crawford and get to him later.
Good point john they were all excellent wins for burns, I was also a doubter of marteniz and katsidis fights, however every time I didn’t back burns to win he proved me wrong and won the fights. So I hope I am wrong againPosted January 2, 2014 8:48 am
john-exactlyPosted January 2, 2014 7:29 am
Toughie for burns’ woudnt write him off just yet tho seem 2 remember burns being a big outsider against martinez’ mitchell and katsidis and look wat happened therePosted January 2, 2014 7:23 am
A really tough but exciting fight on home territory Burns could do it, but would lean towards Crawford, who is an exceptional talent.Posted January 2, 2014 6:09 am
As much as I like burns and want him to stay world champion, I just can’t see him beating Crawford he looks the real deal. If burns jaw holds up it will go the distance as burns is tough as they come, but after his last fight ( bar in mind it was an americain judge that gave burns the win) I think Crawford will win by UD. I know it’s hard to trust judges in Britain these days but I think there get it right on the nightPosted January 2, 2014 4:29 am
