Deontay is a lot faster and slicker than Michael Grant. He’s nowhere near as clumsy. He hits harder too. A Michael Grant he’s not. Dominick Guinn had no trouble stopping Grant. Neither did McCline. Not even Adamek was afraid of Grant. I agree that Deontay does need better fights and more rounds. I believe they’re looking hard for those kind of fights since he’s 30 fights in without a contest going a full 4.Posted December 22, 2013 4:00 pm
If Wilder shouldn’t be there then have someone knock him out there already.Posted December 22, 2013 1:19 pm
Gav you asked “What’s so wrong with silvertene v arreloa 2″
What’s wrong with it is that it favors Arreola, needing only to beat Stivern once to lift the WBC crown…….whereas Stivern needs to beat Arreola twice………..I guess only in the sport of boxing can such an oddity occur.
Some will argue that Arreola earned his shot by beating Seth Mitchell, but Seth Mitchell previously high WBC ranking was as bad as Boystov No.1 WBO ranking!Posted December 22, 2013 10:35 am
Turbo, that was me posting that post below as ANON.Posted December 22, 2013 10:26 am
Wilder and fury should just face each other. The fans want to see it!!! Wilder vs Fury 2014Posted December 22, 2013 3:46 am
The problem with Deontay WIlder is that he cannot box for $.h.1.t.
People talk power because he has fought a load of defenceless b.u.m.s who let him unload on them.
But the likelihood when he is forced to fight any decent technician who isn`t shot to pieces he will eat right hands and fall over.
It happened vs Romanov in the USA vs Russia amateurs. Haye put the clownpants on him in sparring. Sconiers had him iceskating around the ring. Even vs the blimp Dustin Nicholls he was being timed, and countered.
There is a reason people use Wilder for sparring and it isn`t his power. I mean – who needs to be getting sparked in sparring. They use him because he is big, clumsy, predictable and you can use his stupidity to get your timing and confidence together.
He is and always has been Michael Grant Mk II, with the exception that Michael Grant had a much better resume.
If he fought Wlad he would get his face jabbed inside out for 6-7 rounds before Wlad opens up and kills him.Posted December 22, 2013 2:38 am
Simply put the division is about to explode. Guys like stiverne, perez, browne, wilder, fury jennings and a few others are the new school. Mix them up with guys like Thompson, Arreola, Chisora and we will see if they are worthy of a title shot. Wlad is still the best but he seems to want soft fights, looks like he wants to fight leapai would would not last with any of these guys. We are all screaming for Pulev vs wlad not we get leapai. Fights with guys like unproven pianeta are also a joke.Posted December 22, 2013 12:38 am
Wilder is ranked because he has real punching power… and because there are so many ranked heavyweights who apparently fear him. Either that or there’s some really bad matchmakers on his team, or skin-flinty money guys who won’t make attractive offers to ranked heavyweights. Wilder is a highly ranked heavyweight and he’s never made it 2 minutes past the amateur distance.
You need those rounds … that’s just a fact.
Every round you learn something — and the better the opponent the more you learn. You’re taught a lot in the gym you think you can do and you can’t.. They only becomes part of you in rounds 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.. You almost need a little fatigue to get your brain in gear. If you’re only going 1, 2, or 3 rounds, you don’t have a lot of experience to chew over until your next fight. That’s why smashing punchers aren’t usually the greatest boxers.Posted December 22, 2013 12:19 am
“Wilder does not deserve to be ranked at all as he has never fought anyone in the top 50-60 or so……….Vlad outclassed Wilder while sparring for the Wach fight, knocked Wilder down with a jab. Never complain about Wilder not being mandatory until he beats a legit top ten fighter” – Farmboxer, where did you hear Wlad put down Wilder with a jab? I do agree he needs to beat someone. Wilder’s ranking is one of the most absurd today given he’s not faced a single decent opponent.Posted December 21, 2013 9:29 pm
” Anonymous ” ; You certainly are ! And you should stay that way !Posted December 21, 2013 1:00 pm
Areola got beat and should work his way back upPosted December 20, 2013 11:26 pm
Right now it’s : #1 Stiverne #2 Arreola #3 Wilder # 4Jennings. So they could match Arreola and Stiverne each with one of the other two and then the winners fight for the title.Posted December 20, 2013 8:21 pm
Arreola had his shot but got “eliminated” by Stivern, there should really be something in place to prevent a guy that previously got “eliminated” from simply emerging once again…….besides Stivern has to beat Arreola twice to lift the WBC crown, whereas Arreola only needs to beat Stivern once…….now how is that fair???
Wlad is the real bum. He couldn’t even cut it during the Lennox Lewis,Tyson,Holyfield era. He couldn’t even beat the Ross Puritty, Corri Sanders of the world. Sorry guys but Wlad doesn’t get any props from me in a weak heavyweight division.Posted December 20, 2013 5:48 pm
It is all irrelevant because unless these various names fight Wlad they cannot be considered a “champion” as they will possess a “world title” without fighting the best. Clearly there are plenty of good and decent contenders around but, IMHO, they are simply a step below either Klitchko. Fury, Perez, Stiverne, Pulev…and anyone I missed…. have to prove their worthiness by, eventually, opposing Wlad K. As to the accusations: ALL long-reigning champions take a few “cherry” fights. Even the over-lauded Ali did. Wlad is boring? Listen, retards, he is a professional sportsman with significant advantages of height and power. He uses his advantages to win. Why risk standing toe-to-toe with a man who can KO with one shot….as most hws can, given the right chance. He simply uses his advantages and skills to win. And to date he has been successful. Oh, And Wilder? FFS. Until he has fought someone breathing he is still a bum! My pick is that, should he ever get his utterly undeserved title shot, he’ll be exposed and KOd inside 3.Posted December 20, 2013 4:13 pm
It should be Stiverne vs Adamek. Both have defeated Arreola.Posted December 20, 2013 12:29 pm
Fair is fair! Areolla vs stiverne and fury vs wilder there.end the drama boys and girlsPosted December 20, 2013 11:06 am
What’s so wrong with silvertene v arreloa 2? 1st. Fight was good and will force other fighters like fury wilder chisora adamek Perez etc to go head to head for the next shot.Posted December 20, 2013 10:49 am
Stiverne to win.Posted December 20, 2013 8:40 am
Arreola is Mexican, so he’s ranked highly by the WBC.Posted December 20, 2013 8:35 am
put these guys, stiverne, wilder, arreola and whoever in the US scene, in with the tiger. tiger would end up getting another trip across the atlantic to fight wlad.Posted December 20, 2013 8:35 am
Arreola is a rugged brawler. He lets his hands go and comes to fight but there are guys out there who are better brawlers. Perez would take him as would mago prior to being hospitalized. Stiverne would beat him again. Arreola has time and time again not delivered when he needed to. He is the american version of chisora. A great bench mark just not a champ. Time for Fury Wilder, Browne, Perez to step prove there worth in 2014.Posted December 20, 2013 6:29 am
Bermane will give Arreola another ass whooping, this time around I hope his corner stops it or he’s going to need hospitalization. Reason: Arreola has zero defense, eats too many punches and Bermane hits really hard. I won’t be surprised if Arreola becomes damaged goods after this fight.Posted December 20, 2013 4:56 am
@farmboxer as if that wasn’t laughable enough but on a serious note if you truly believe your post, kindly bet your farm accordingly.Posted December 20, 2013 4:48 am
Lol all you damn hater on ESB. I said it before and I’ll say it again…..CA is gonna be in the best shape of his life come fight night. A fire was set right under CA’s ass and he’s comin hard this time. Stay tuned!Posted December 20, 2013 3:04 am
Arreola will probably beat Stiverne in the rematch by knockout……….Vlad had to fight Thompson two times, and he stopped Thompson two times. Wilder does not deserve to be ranked at all as he has never fought anyone in the top 50-60 or so……….Vlad outclassed Wilder while sparring for the Wach fight, knocked Wilder down with a jab. Never complain about Wilder not being mandatory until he beats a legit top ten fighter, not some bum who is ranked in the top ten because of a promoter’s desire.Posted December 20, 2013 12:55 am
In all fairness Stiverne has much better footwork and upper body movement then Peter who did give Wlad a couple of scares in their fight. He also has, I believe, more heart then David Haye, just ask Arreloa. I think he can do better then recent Wlad victim Povetkin, who lets face it, after struggling against Huck was given even less of a chance against Wlad, still dont think he can win but I give him 40% chance.Posted December 19, 2013 11:50 pm
Stiverne vs Perez would be a hell of a fght. It would be even more brutal than Mago vs Perez. Just a 12 round war.Posted December 19, 2013 10:45 pm
Stiverne will not get near wlad. Too short too slow gets gassed too easily. We has seen this time and time again with Sam Peters. It will be the same. Wlad’s hardest matchup will be against a good tall man. Not someone like Wach how has the speed of a slug, a fast fit, skilled tall man with a chin and a punch. That will be a test. Not stivernePosted December 19, 2013 10:43 pm
keep waiting tinseltown because wlad hasn’t lost in over 10 years and probably will retire without losing another…Posted December 19, 2013 10:27 pm

I can see Stiverne knocking Wlad’s ass out!Posted December 19, 2013 9:45 pm
Wlad is long overdue for a loss.Posted December 19, 2013 9:24 pm
Arreola got hammered into a jelly by Stiverne…
No way CR qualifies for a boxoff for the Heavyweight Championship. The last time he fought for the title his corner pulled him out to save him from a certain KO from a then 38-year-old Vitali, who was ramping up the punishment more severely than Stiverne…
Adamek also got a nice win over Arreola… Vitali beat Adamek every minute of every round … but he lasted longer than Fat Boy Arreloa.Posted December 19, 2013 8:58 pm
“Bermane Stiverne deserves to fight for the vacant WBC title belt as he is the Nr1# heavyweight contender BUT I feel not the same for Chris Arreola.” – Cosign. It should be Fury who has apparently unretired based on his recent Twitter comments. Even Adamek or Jenkins would be better. Arreola already crash and burned vs Stiverne recently, he shouldn’t get a 2nd chance this quick when there are other good heavies who’ve been grinding.Posted December 19, 2013 8:11 pm
Cristobal v. Fury. that is one fighter that Arreola can rush and KO with relative impunity. Fury is a devastating KO waiting to happen. afterwards, Arreola needs to reclaim his once impressive boxing skills to defeat the rest. this IS Arreola’s last run at a big-time title. he’ll need to make it count.Posted December 19, 2013 8:06 pm
Stiverne versus Wilder would produce the first American Heavyweight Champion in 10 years… As opposed to Fury vs Pulev or something like that.
And you know the guy who gets the winner will be Wladimir.Posted December 19, 2013 7:30 pm

Bermane Stiverne deserves to fight for the vacant WBC title belt as he is the Nr1# heavyweight contender BUT I feel not the same for Chris Arreola. Well he is the nr.2# guy BUT his heart and charisma in boxing is low and is just good as an contender. I personally would prefer Stiverne fight Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury or Kubrat Pulev for the title as they are more interesting names BUT again, the focus ond favourite to win any way is Bermane Stiverne so why bother. This would be Chris Arreola’s mabey final shot at a world title if he don’t dare challange Wladimir Klitschko for the crown.Posted December 19, 2013 7:24 pm
Mike PerezPosted December 19, 2013 7:00 pm
This is what I been saying for ages leave klitschow out of the equation for the wbc belt, have some quality fights for a year or so to see who comes out on top then have a wald fight( which will be one sided and a snoozefest but got a be done)Posted December 19, 2013 6:44 pm
Arreola sucks!! What about Fury!!!Posted December 19, 2013 6:38 pm
Wes got a good point.Posted December 19, 2013 6:23 pm
A healthy David haymaker haye would ok all three of these guys but I don’t see him getting past wlad klitPosted December 19, 2013 6:22 pm
wes I doubt it. Arreola fights one way, and that’s coming forward with no head movement.. he’s not going to change his style at this point… I think we’ll see the same outcomePosted December 19, 2013 5:52 pm
why give to arreola. is wilder more better. what did he do but ko 30 tomato cans. at least arreola beat mitchell in style. in the wbc top 15 the only cases you can make is jennings and perez. but i still think that they behind arreola in accomplishment.Posted December 19, 2013 5:35 pm
Hi I can’t believe Chris had his nose broken in round 1 and
i perdict both wilder and fury both will be ktfo when they meet wladimir klitschko.Posted December 19, 2013 5:18 pm
i thought everybody wanted one champion per weight class. that the complaint i always hear. why don’t the brother fight each other so we can have one champion. now vitali made that possible by retiring. now some people don’t want it. may the better man win. if it WK so be it. if these contenders are so good let them try to knock him off his perch.Posted December 19, 2013 5:16 pm
on paper it look like arreola would lose again. but a good fighter can correct his mistakes and come back to win. look at lewis got ktfo twice and came back and revenge those fight in style. i made the same mistake and thought rahman would do it again. arreola was unlucky to get his nose broken in the second round. maybe this time he will fight smart.Posted December 19, 2013 5:07 pm
Boxing fans are ALWAYS complaining! After Arreola lost to Stiverne he beat Seth Mitchell, who was rated in the top 5 in the wbc for beating Banks. That makes Arreola the #2 contender. The number 1 and two guys fight for the vacant belt. What’s all the fuss for?????Posted December 19, 2013 4:46 pm
The k brothers should be fighting top 15 guys every fight, guess I’m mad at the Alex lepai fight or could of been boystov! I know the k bros will fight anyone just they get fed some real crap sometimes. And waldamir offers very little in excitement its why I don’t want him to have wbc belt it will prove very little as he is so much better than all the rest anyway. But the other guys are evenly matched and could offer a lot more in excitement value if they fight each other and were finally see wilder get tested.Posted December 19, 2013 4:32 pm
Just award the belt to Stiverne NOW!! He deserves it.Posted December 19, 2013 4:12 pm
The fight should be stivern versus admek areola is good but lost to both these guys wilder is not ready he should fight tyson fury to be the number one contender and then fight for this title for the new champs first defensePosted December 19, 2013 4:05 pm
Pure disgrace, give the belt to Stiverne right now, Arreola will take another beating, the first one was hilariousPosted December 19, 2013 3:59 pm
Anon wald will win the WBC belt and hw division will be in its worst state everPosted December 19, 2013 3:32 pm
this is all coming out where the sun don’t shine. elimation to mandatory to emer-ignoramus. The HW is divortium ut combibo. Pulev (mandatum forem IB Efum) – Wlad (permissum mihi teneo sicco a bum) 2014!Posted December 19, 2013 3:27 pm

WBC orders “immediate free negotiations between No. 1 ranked contender and WBC Silver world champion Bermane Stiverne and No. 2 ranked contender and WBC International champion Chris Arreola for the vacant WBC heavyweight world championship.” – What a crock. The fight already happened so there’s no way in hell Arreola should get to fight for the vacant title. GTFO.Posted December 19, 2013 3:14 pm
Im tired of waitng around for wilder to impress me, if he dosent fight a really good opponent next time out, he s a big vagina.Posted December 19, 2013 3:08 pm
Stiverne already beat Arreola. Let Wilder and Arreola square off first, or mix Fury and Haye into the pot. But Stiverne, for me, stands at the top of the heap.Posted December 19, 2013 2:51 pm
Op Amp yes I follow boxing and I know how good the klitischows are they are. No one is even remotely close enough to be able to beat them. However they are boring and have had a fair few cherry picked oppoents, which is more down to their promoters. I prefere to be entertained like the other divisions and therebis enough decent fights to be made among the other guys. Boxing will benifit from having entertaining fights rather than the over safety and wrestling first from waldamir. The WBC belt will sort of become a papervtitle as the true champ is waldamir but it will be worth it. And Omp amp dumb namePosted December 19, 2013 2:46 pm
keep the hw circus rolling.Posted December 19, 2013 2:43 pm
Quite a few of you posters are forgetting something about Wlad. All it takes for Wlad to KO any of these contenders is ONE PUNCH. Wlad has the ONE PUNCH KO power in both hands. Do not forget that. Wlad is a dangerous fighter who can knock your lights out.Posted December 19, 2013 2:35 pm
After studying video of them both, i say that Fury will suffer a very embarrassing KO if he fights Wilder. Better for the Fury train to be derailed by a much less painful UD by someone else, then to go into retirement having to be woke up in the ring as Wilder is walking around celebrating.Posted December 19, 2013 2:09 pm
Mr. Gav. Do you even follow boxing?? You seem to have no clue what your talking about. Love them or hate em, the Klitchkos are known for fighting ANYONE out there. Yes, they have plucked a few cherrys between them in the last year or so, but they are NOT known to be duckers or dodgers. Dumb comment.Posted December 19, 2013 2:03 pm
Love to see big Chris get another shot after flying over from Scotland to see the last fight with Stiverne, was an amazing night of action but Chris has to cover up more, he got hit waaaay to many times and ended up with a badly woken face. He’s got the power, can he outsmart Stiverne tho? Stiverne has got really effective technique and keeps out of harms way, so he must be favourite again.Posted December 19, 2013 1:57 pm
Why would anyone want Wald to win WBC belt? All that happens is Wald will only fight bums the boxing organizations and Wald’s promotiontion team put him in with. All the interesting fights like wilder fury won’t happen as promoters won’t take the risk in a non title fight. Wald will hold he to ransom and will be even more awful than it already isPosted December 19, 2013 1:41 pm
wilder vs arreola! winner vs stivernePosted December 19, 2013 1:37 pm
This is whats gonna happen:
Stiverne will beat Arreola AGAIN.
WTF? Stiverne already beat Arreola last out! This is insane!Posted December 19, 2013 1:18 pm
Anyone who thinks Wlad will easily defeat Bermane don’t know what they are talking about. All Bermane needs to land his one punch and it’s good night. Wlad will turn the fight into a wrestling match and that’s the only way he wins. Bermane might have a suspect chin but it held up pretty well against Arreola. This won’t be a cakewalk for Wlad. though I still favour him to win by clinching.Posted December 19, 2013 1:17 pm
