where’s Cotto hiding? . . . the boxing world wonders . . .

Posted December 21, 2013 12:17 pm

Public Enemy, I agree with you. Lara beats Alvarez.

I’m just wondering when Canelo’s cold sore is going to heal.

Trout was supposed to be a “hype-ending” risk for Canelo. indeed, many posters and “experts” insisted that he was ducking Trout by challenging Cotto and Kirkland first. Mayweather was Thee biggest challenge in boxing but Canelo even accepted a catchweight to confirm that matchup. something about REALITY that consistently escapes some posters.

Canelo said he wants Cotto next. put $10 million on the table. Cotto’s apparently “not available” . . . again. i think he’s got his eye on Broner, instead(?).

TARK, Canelo dominated Trout no less than Floyd dominated Guerrero. i challenge you to cite a single boxing category that Trout excelled in besides missed punches? in one instance, i counted 14 consecutive missed punches before i simply lost count. Canelo’s mastery of the combat zone was utterly complete and thorough. once again, you need to actually watch these bouts with your eyes open and bias’ suspended. otherwise, your post-fight anlaysis is no less flawed and innacurate than your pre-fight analysis.

Posted December 19, 2013 8:28 pm

LOL? Lara? the guy that got dropped by slow moving Angulo? and how exactly did Trout beat Canelo? by hitting the canvas and doing the chicken dance or by throwing and MISSING nearly ALL his useless jabs at Canelo?

Posted December 19, 2013 6:52 pm

Trout beat Cotto almost every round… His domination was thorough.

But Lara completely dominated Trout…

Trout couldn’t get anything going at all… Lara is really coming on as a pro. His defense and counterpunching is outstanding. He doesn’t give you a thing anymore. He reminds me of Rigondeaux in the way he gets opponents to lead.

Canelo-Trout wasn’t anything like that. Trout landed the most punches and Canelo won by landing harder more effective blows. Lara beat Trout in both quantity and quality.

Lara is the biggest threat to Canelo… Or Floyd for that matter.

“I really don’t think many people would buy that PPV. What would that fight prove? Angulo is nothing more than a tough, slow, strong punching bag that doesn’t have much to offer. Feeding Canelo guys like this does not help him develop or improve.” – Hec Dog, it wouldn’t improve Canelo but it would be a likely win. You underestimate the Mexican fans, many of them are big fans of Angulo and will buy a guaranteed throwdown. Molina would be a horrible stylistic matchup but Canelo-Angulo is fireworks, even if the result should be obv.

canelo broner ect thats why they have so many plastic belts today, because back in the day one champ per belt these pric#s would never get near one.

When I said Molina was the lesser of the three, I didn’t mean he wasn’t a worthy opponent. Molina has some sand and he’s no pushover but I do believe he would be lesser of a threat to Canelo than Angulo or Lara.

Posted December 18, 2013 11:34 pm

Floyd XYLOCAINE Mayweather

o yaa mayorga , if I am correct DLH came out of retirement and fought Mayorga and right after him he fought floyd, well that was a dumb move on dlh’s part.

mayorga is available (lol)

canelo is worst then broner, at least Broner does some stupid stuff.

I really don’t think many people would buy that PPV. What would that fight prove? Angulo is nothing more than a tough, slow, strong punching bag that doesn’t have much to offer. Feeding Canelo guys like this does not help him develop or improve. He needs to jump in with a top contender. Going from Mayweather to Angulo makes no sense at all. It will hinder his development and the peoples confidence in him.

Reported elsewhere: “Golden Boy prefers for Saul Alvarez to face Alfredo Angulo on March 8th. They believe it’s a favorable style and more saleable than Carlos Molina.” – That’s actually an entertaining fight that would put Mexican fans in a frenzy. But they’d have to put on a very strong undercard for it to be a decent PPV. Do it.

Molina seems likely since he has a belt and is the weakest opponent. Snorebore fight though and as a PPV it’s awful. NO way does Canelo step up to Lara.

Boxer my friend, Erislandy Lara would pick Canelo apart. Canelo has awful feet, and Lara’s speed, accuracy, movement and defense will have Canelo swinging at air. Canelo will not do well versus a slick boxer. He’s a counter puncher that will not hit Lara. Angulo is a very strong and awkward fighter that Lara probably underestimated a bit. he showed character and a strong will to win as well as patience. Canelo’s style will be perfect for Lara. Stylistically, Canelo will be picked apart and maybe even stopped. You can see a lot of Canelo’s habits over and over. He doesn’t or can’t make adjustments. IMHO, Lara beats him up.

canelo.vs danny garcia! danny would wax dat bum red head! lol so much. #realtalk

Posted December 18, 2013 6:49 pm

My money says Canelo will “pick” Molina as he is the less dangerous of the three. But I would love to see him fight Lara.

Posted December 18, 2013 6:17 pm

Lets see Kirkland vs Canelo.

Posted December 18, 2013 2:12 pm

They are already saying Angulo will the the fighter opposite Canelo when he steps back in the ring. So if that happens your theory will be wrong.

canelo vs kirkland

Posted December 18, 2013 1:01 pm

Molina is no superior boxer at any weight. He grabs and holds. He is worse that John Ruiz. That is a ridiculous statement. Canelo would handle him. If he tries to grab Canelo, he would be over powered and beat down

Posted December 18, 2013 10:09 am

how about canelo vs broner on african PPV.

Posted December 18, 2013 8:42 am

TARK, you championed Canelo and now you are dropping him like a stone. Why don’t you stick with your picks?
In the last few months you have dropped Canelo, Trout and now Broner like hot potatoes. You are fast becoming a horrible picker and terrible turncoat.

boxing barlow

Cotto is wasting his time at light middle and is crazy even thinking of going to middle weight. Hes not been ver effective about welterweight and struggled with a big welted like Margarito.

Canelo vs chavez jr ha ha ha oh what a fight.

Posted December 18, 2013 5:11 am

If canelo fights any1 of note he will lose…..whats Rios doing? He’l stand there and get belted. Lara, maidana or any top 5 guys at middleweight will whoop him. Hes that much of a hype job mundine would beat him….any1 that moves with a jab will beat him.

Posted December 18, 2013 4:54 am

If you’re going to move around the ring, keep on moving, don’t stay and trade every 20 seconds with your back against the ropes. Study Rigo, Mayweather, B-Hop.

Posted December 18, 2013 3:31 am

FEARS I agree, Lara is the toughest fight of the mentioned fighters. Still Lara is no Rigo. He got caught over and over again against the ropes vs Angulo. Canelo is a much better fighter than Angulo.

It’s a competitive fight but I see Canelo winning it.

Posted December 18, 2013 3:29 am

Everyone knows that Lara is the best fight for Canelo at 154, but that fight will probably never happen anytime soon, or at least until Canelo has another loss and Lara’s star-power increases. Lara would school Canelo if they ever met.

Posted December 18, 2013 2:42 am

Canelos a gimmick hes gonna fight Angulo while both Molina and Lara are superior boxers with tittles at 54. Maybe he’s hoping Molina can do his dirty work with Lara not this time I’m a Molina fan but Lara will beat him clearly whos Canelo gonna hide behind then. Canelos got no where to hide because i think Molina beats him too lol.

Posted December 18, 2013 12:15 am

Wasn’t real impressed w lara. Had angulo not suffered that freak eye injury he may have stopped lara. Lara did look better against trout

Posted December 17, 2013 11:18 pm

Prof Konje

Lara would easily outbox Alvarez.

Posted December 17, 2013 11:12 pm

Canelo is still the best at 154. He beats everybody at 154 but floyd. Lara? Angulo floored him twice and canelo is way better than angulo. Molina? Canelo beats him easy! Cotto? There was a reason cotto turned down big money to fight canelo. As long at canelo stays at 154 he will again be undisputed champ at 154. If he moves up to 160 he is done! He wont beat quillen or triple g. I think he can beat martinez. Sergio is done!

Posted December 17, 2013 10:39 pm

fairly slim pickings at JMW now, cant see any real mouth watering match ups for Canelo let alone money makers, he no longer has his 0 so he should just move up and take on one of the paper champion MW’s.

Posted December 17, 2013 10:12 pm

Te Mundo- common bro, Cotto could potentially beat the red out of Canelo. Just measure these two boxers base on their fight against Mayweather. One deserves a rematch while the other got school. Now, tell me who is better measuring them against the best in the boxing business no name Paquiao.

Boxer- good points bro.

Posted December 17, 2013 9:32 pm

Yo hec dog I’m guessing your thinking that since Lara gave trout a boxing lesson that he” ll do what Floyd did to Canelo but sorry my man your wrong!! It’s funny that you down talked Angulo caus he dropped lara twice! Which means if you apply enough pressure on Lara he’s hittable! Canelo can do a whole lot more than Angulo can inside that squared circle Canelo would probly stop lara, I’m a big Lara fan since he fought Paul Williams a while back, kid chocolate had troubles with rosado a good fighter but no where near Canelo he”d also get beat triple g another good strong fighter but he’s also a fight away from getting side stepped and counterd, cotto would be interesting but again Canelo might be to much for him, y’all got to remember he got beat by Floyd mayweather and at the end of the day Canelo fought the wrong fight and couldn’t match Floyd’s experiance, at 154 their isn’t to many fights for Canelo regardless of what the media tells you

Posted December 17, 2013 8:56 pm

The KO Prophet

How about Kirkland? Might be a interesting fight

Posted December 17, 2013 8:41 pm

Hec Dog

Canelo is still very good, but he wants NO part of Lara. Lara beats picks him apart. Angulo would be nothing more than a perfect set up fight to pad his record. Angulo would be destroyed quickly. Kirkland has a punchers chance for a few rounds than gets stopped, Cotto will do well for 3-5 rounds then get stopped. Molina will give Canelo all he wants. GGG is not even a fair question. He stops Canelo before 9 rounds. Quillin also stops Canelo before 9 rounds. Don’t know what Canelo does from here.

Broner’s “balls” are now ornaments dangling from Maidana’s rear-view mirror. that’s what happens when you start to believe your own hype. Btw, i assume everybody agrees that Cotto has no chance v. Canelo? otherwise, that’s been the first order of Canelo’s business at 154lbs but Cotto will simply not make himself available(?). not even for $10 million. where are Cotto’s “balls”?

Posted December 17, 2013 7:44 pm

Bunch of crap Canelo should be calling on Triple G. Canelo is being protected only reason Golden boy let Canelo fight Floyd is because Floyd is little guy and canelo came in 20 pounds heaver thought his weight would make the difference. Not even worth watching Canelo come in at Light heavy and beat up little guys. Broner has more balls than Canelo.

Posted December 17, 2013 7:29 pm

there are no serious threats to Canelo’s 154lb dominance, which is why i would like to see him v. the likes of Golovkin ASAP. Martinez is my second choice. Molina already exposed Lara who appears to lack the heart of a true ring-warrior. moreover, Angulo was able to drop Lara while in auto-plodding mode(?!). Kirkland’s re-emergence could make things very interesting in 2014 IF he manages to stay focused and under Wolfe’s tutelage. otherwise, Canelo enjoys decisive advantages in virtually every 154lb matchup.

Posted December 17, 2013 7:23 pm

the most dangerous fight for Lara at 154lbs is Molina, which is why i doubt he’ll actually dare grant him the rematch. also, after watching Lara’s frightened performance v. a plodding Angulo, i’m more confident than ever that Canelo DROPS and erases him from the ranks of title-contenders. Btw, how in the f’k is Cotto not available to collect a $10 million payday? who is offering more for the same date?

Posted December 17, 2013 7:16 pm

Who cares if its not Cotto to have a P.R vs Mexico matchup really who cares. You can’t manufacture a ppv star like GBs trying to do with Canelo and Broner.

Posted December 17, 2013 7:11 pm

The most dangerous opponent for Canelo at 154 is Lara… Lara beats him.

That’s why he won’t fight him… He’ll fight Cotto or Martinez… The idea that Canelo would fight Golovkin is pure fantasy… He’d get murdered.

Posted December 17, 2013 6:26 pm

look for alvarez to take on some bum

Posted December 17, 2013 5:27 pm

Canelo is not done he is still a beast even after his lost to Floyd Floyd beats everyone. Canelo should fight Cotto or GGG next that would be huge….

Posted December 17, 2013 5:15 pm

If he chooses to fight Lara, he can expect another defeat added to his record.

Posted December 17, 2013 5:04 pm

Canelo is damaged goods. He is potentially mentally done after the beating Mayweather gave him. Who cares about Canelo. He is just an average fighte like Bronner.
