GGG vs Canelo & Matthyse vs Provodnikov would be barn burners.Posted December 3, 2013 7:09 am
Quillin/Golovkin, Garcia/Broner, Lara/AlvarezPosted December 2, 2013 9:37 pm
ONE OF MY favourites on your list is RIGONDEAUX vs SANTA CRUZ…. The last several fights I have been quietly impressed with the work ethic and the willingness to engage of Santa Cruz. Whilst he hasn’t the same skillset of Rigo, it will be interesting to see what he could do and problems he presents for Rigondeaux…. Santa Cruz is fast becoming one of my favourite fighters to watch….
I would actually like to see DESERT STORM vs KHAN, which was a matchup that was in the making for 2 years or so and should have happened at 140… The winner could legitimately claim the prize of a bout with FLOYD…
SWIFT vs BRONER is a good match up and I think Swift will unhinge THE PROBLEM… PROVODNIKOV vs MATTHYSSE could be the fight of the year back at 140 and
TJ any fights I mentioned would you like to see?Posted December 2, 2013 6:18 pm
DEXTER MORGAN, Your list is a good one, but I truly believe Bam Bam’s days at the top are numbered as if there is such a thing as a blueprint in boxing he is a case of how to fight him and how not to fight him.
I was probably a but harsh on him as he is a family man, but needs to start using his head in the ring and not his heart.
One fight for RIOS would be against THE GHOST, ROBERT GUERRERO as both need a big fight/ win to keep them relevant….Failing that BAM BAM should go down a weight and try and challenge PROVODNIKOV, but that could be a slaughter!!!!Posted December 2, 2013 6:07 pm
True TJ I agree Rios is a slugger (bad boxing skills) with a serious beard and heart. Could lore Bradley into a slugfest will vs. will. I think Rios could hurt Bradley, or Bradley would box the crap out of him. But could be an entertaining slugfestPosted December 2, 2013 5:54 pm
DEXTER MORGAN, I have never rated BAM BAM…. Any fighter with a modicum of boxing skill who can move in the ring will box rings round him. I assume you saw DESERT STORM box and move to get the nod over DINAMITA?
Pac looked like a boxing genius vs this plodder in Macau…
I don’t want to see Bam Bam against anyone in the top 20…. his best bet is to get a rematch with his old nemesis in a trilogy….Posted December 2, 2013 5:50 pm

1. FLOYD MAYWEATHER VS. MANNY PACQUIAO @147
Holmes would have SPANKED Foreman. TOO much Boxing SKILLS.
Posted December 2, 2013 7:00 am
TOTALLY agree with you BOXTRADAMUS…. Holmes called him out for years but George played death every time. Larry stayed active for years in the Hope of whupping his b*tt! He would have beaten him with one hand and one punch – the jab!Posted December 2, 2013 5:37 pm
I never said Canelo was “drained to death” for Mayweather… He looked like he started the weight making process to early and too aggressively. His body didn’t rebound well from it well from it like was the case for the Trout fight.
The scorecards reflected the margin as I predicted — but the fight itself was less exciting and interesting than I predicted. Canelo would have been sharper and more active if he arrived with the same condition, in-the-ring weight (172 vs 165), and energy he had for the Trout fight — but Floyd would still have been the winner with neutral judges.
I’ve seen hundreds of weight drained fighters so I know what I’m looking at… Andre Ward commented on how “bad” and “weak” Canelo looked at the weigh-in… Ward has 20 years of experience in the game so he knows what he’s talking about … Floyd isn’t responsible for how somebody else screws up in their training camp, and Leonard Ellerbe noted that Canelo’s managers were, “a bunch of idiots” when they agreed to the 152-pound limit … and actually made that weight.
Floyd paid a 600,000 dollar fine for weighing in at 146 instead of the agreed on 144 for Marquez… So that means he felt those 2 pounds were worth at least that much to keep on his body — and that’s very close to his natural weight.Posted December 2, 2013 3:40 pm
MARTINEZ the most hyped up middle in history.Posted December 2, 2013 3:33 pm
Martinez quality of work at middleweight is weak. His whole career is overrated. And at the moment he shouldn’t even be champ. But he got the home cooked meal and still is. GGG demolishes GGG inside of 8Posted December 2, 2013 1:01 pm
Martinez might very well be done at MW but until he retires or is beaten in the ring he’s the man at 160… We saw Klitschko and Leonard out long periods after injury and return to win fights..Sergio May have more in the tank than people think he was an unusual athletic specimen when healthy…The Rush to invalidate the work he did in the division is WEAK, Golovkin cannot touch the quality of his work that said people should wanna see that fight eventually assuming both guys keep winning…Posted December 2, 2013 12:19 pm
Mayweather vs Golovkins not even a legitimate conversation we have Tark who SWEARS on the Bible that Canelo was drained to death after losing an additional 1.5 pounds talking about GGG dropping a full 7 to fight in a division he never has in his 30’s…. There is NO WAY that Mayweather detractors will give him his due for outboxing and out speeding this MW… So really what’s in this for Mayweather? Golovkin has 00000 box office clout and he’s not even the most decorated MW in the World…Too many fighters are looking at FMJ like a Lighthouse and the only path to $$$ and a higher profile, while this might be true in many instances it does not mean all competitors are natural… Barring a HUGE windfall Mayweathers likely done at 154, he has NEVER fought there back to back in his life because he belongs at 147…Posted December 2, 2013 11:57 am
I like Canelo vs Golovkin, I would wanna see Floyd vs Manny to get this discussion over with and Kovalev vs Stevenson eventually…. I get where Stevensons going he’s an OLDER fighter and if h makes no $$$$$ soon he will retire broke… Kovalev is building his name but does not yet bring the $$$$$ were Stevenson younger the Kovalev should be his next bout as it is I can understand his team looking to get him paid..Posted December 2, 2013 11:48 am
Curtley has the smartest post.Posted December 2, 2013 10:54 am
To those bashing the author…no fight result is a given…not everyone will agree on picks…there is a valid reason for picking Mayweather over Pacman. As well as a valid reason to pick Pacman over Mayweather, etc.
You’re not right, you’re just an opinion. The only thing that is “right” is what happens between the fighters on fight night.Posted December 2, 2013 10:50 am

OH I just paid attention to the title. I was naming the BEST Fights not the hottest Fights. The hottest Fights are the ones that have the most HYPE attached to them. In that case Mayweather vs Pac steals the show. I definitely don’t mind watching Floyd SPANK him. But yeah thats the hottest Fight on the planet. It will definitely have people glued to their seats. Half the World would CRY at the SPANKING that Pacquiao woild receive. Thats why I’m a little bit against it. Its not GOOD being around SO many people who are dusappointed unless you can CHEER them UP. Thats why I advise everyone to bet on Mayweather. Even IF you’re a Pacquiao fan the money from Floyd’s WIN to YOUR pocket should cheer you UP.Posted December 2, 2013 8:56 am
Keep people fighting at their weights (or at least near weights)
1)Mayweather vs Pac

George Foreman vs. Larry Holmes!Posted December 2, 2013 5:34 am
@ James Slater: You write some real good articles man, but I just don’t see Pacquiao beating Mayweather on points. I can see Mayweather beating Pacquiao (or Golovkin for that matter) on points or by a late stoppage.Posted December 2, 2013 5:33 am
Kovalev KTFO Stevenson. He knows it, that’s why he’s already trying to dodge him with that Froch/Bhop nonsense.Posted December 2, 2013 4:13 am
Typo : 14. Pacman vs ProvodnikovPosted December 2, 2013 3:37 am
kovalev has more 1 and 2 round stoppage wins indicating more concussive stopping power. adonis got lit up and stopped inside 2 by boone. kovalev has not experienced that nasty quick stoppage lossPosted December 2, 2013 3:01 am
I don’t know about mayweather barely beating triple g nor him losing to pacquiao, the triple g fight won’t happen but I think Floyd would win 9rds to 3, and I think pacman would start good like zab but than end like zab!Posted December 2, 2013 2:16 am
Tark ,, you are comparing apples to oranges ,,Stevenson and Kovalev both fought total different fighters last night ,Ismayl Sillakh is a good fast puncher but he is known to have a very weak chin just like Amir Khan ,as soon as Kovalev touched him he went down ,,While Stevenson had a more durable opponent in Bellew’s ,,,Bellew was not fast or a dangerous puncher but he had a will to win and a tough jaw .as far as explosive and fast punches are concern it’s Stevenson ,,he has TNT in his punches .Posted December 2, 2013 2:13 am
To Tark ,,,Kovalev is not a harder puncher then Stevenson !!! we are not posting who the better fighter is . I am saying who the harder puncher is . Stevenson has one punch knock out power .. Kovalev is a dangerous puncher ,but he rather wears you out with his punches ,of course he looked good last night ,but it was against an opponent with no chin . Stevenson is a rare one punch knock out artist ,,this does not mean he will win over Kovalev .Posted December 2, 2013 1:56 am
There are any number of big fights that should be added to this list. I will add Takashi Uchiyama vs Mikey Garcia, the consensus Top Two at 130 pounds. There is no reason this fight could not be made, although there are several reasons why it will not. But it would be tremendous if it did happen.Posted December 2, 2013 1:55 am
They can both punch… But Stevenson should have had Bellew out in the first round… The guy’s a punching bag… Kovalev is a better defender, puncher, and absorber… I can see why AS isn’t interested.Posted December 2, 2013 1:52 am
I never said that Stevenson can’t be hurt ,,in fact he has a questionable chin !!! all i’m saying is that Kovalev can be hurt ,although Kovalev does have the better chin of the two he can be hurt by Stevenson’s punches . if they fight it will be who lands first and who can take it better .And of course Kovalev can take it better , but Stevenson can really hit .Posted December 2, 2013 1:43 am
Don’t believe gym tales… Believe what you see on fight night… Stevenson has been stopped and Kovalev has never been stopped.
Adonis is a worthy champion… but Kovalev is a better boxer and puncher. It would be a great fight but Stevenson doesn’t want it.Posted December 2, 2013 1:16 am
Sergey Kovalev can be hurt and Stevenson is able to hurt him .A lot of people think Kovalev has an iron jaw ,well Golovkin drop him and had him really hurt when they spar a little more then a month ago when Triple G was preparing for his last fight .Stevenson has a very lethal left hand and accurate .
Did you see STevenson wobbled last night at least twice , I thought he might go down ………If there had of been follow up punches he would have been finished ……..Posted December 2, 2013 1:00 am
Golovkin has about 130 more amateur fights than Kovalev and more pro fights. Golovkin won a higher percentage of his amateur fights than any boxer with over 300 fights, except for Lomachenko and Rigondeaux. Funny, but they’re all fighting pro right now.Posted December 2, 2013 12:32 am
Chili Grande and The Truth you are both right .. Gennady Golovkin did in deed drop and hurt Kovalev ..that was after Kovalev started to throw big bombs at Golovkin .. Kovalev did shake up Golovkin and then Golovkin started to throw his own bombs and drop Kovalev . This happen up in big Bear where they both were training .Posted December 2, 2013 12:21 am
Yeah i heard the same thing .at first i thought it was just a rumor but it’s true Golovkin knock down Kovalev during a heated sparring match when Golovkin was training to defend his title more then a month ago ,i guess Kovalev boxing trainer John David Jackson stop it right away as Kovalev was shaken up …Posted December 2, 2013 12:10 am
There’s one problem with your list.
Stevenson won’t fight Kovalev… Mayweather won’t fight Golovkin… Martinez won’t fight Golovkin… Fury won’t fight Wilder… Matthysse vs Maidana could happen in Argentina… Pacquiao and Provodnikov are friends. I promise you they won’t fight each other.
That leaves only Matthysse-Maidana … a very predictable fight.
Of course Mayweather-Pacquiao could still happen by some miracle. However, they’ve been trying to put that fight together for 6 years and it hasn’t happened yet.
What is wrong with Boxing? The best fights are never made.
Crappy fights that have little drama or competitiveness ARE made.Posted December 2, 2013 12:01 am

Slater I think you are a bit short sighted on this I’m kind of with Adonis on this one. Adonis shouold fight Hopkins or Ward, and Kovalev should fight Hopkins or Ward whos ever left. This would be a great build up to an epic fight. To put both guy in against each other at an early stage when it can be an event and not just a fight is craziness.
Stevenson VS Kovalev isn’t going to get any better with time unlike a good wine …Posted December 1, 2013 11:11 pm

Unless Sergio Martinez has a miraculous recovery, you can count him done. He’s too busted up now, especially at his age, to be much of a threat to any of the young, hungry lions — any of the top 5 guys at 160, or Floyd or Alvarez at 154. He had a good run, but in his last fight he was down to a shell of his former self.Posted December 1, 2013 10:43 pm
All add: Ward vs Stevenson or KovalevPosted December 1, 2013 10:31 pm

kovalev brings the high profile big money for sure the only real problem team adonis has is they know they will get smoked. pretending kovalev vs adonis is not high profile and will not rake in the money your a fool. who would really rather watch adonis fight pascal, bute, and froch!!!!!??????
