Froch by KO. Groves is chinny. Once Carl cracks him on the jaw the fight will be over, if George gets up from the first knock down Carl will be on him and beat him down. Or George will be stopped on his feet trapped on the ropes or in a corner. Forget Groves and DeGale, Callum Smith is the SMW to keep an eye on in the future. A couple of years from now Callum Smith will be a world champion.

I believe CARL medalled at the World Amateurs…which is a fine achievement for anyone!

Posted November 22, 2013 4:15 pm

if ward beat froch how can he still be a world champ. of course there”s still another 5 belts on offer.

Posted November 22, 2013 4:03 pm

The Roar….”.We can hope”..please don’t include me in your hopes and aspirations,I do not or ever will regard George anywhere near the “paper champ” Carl’s resume ……Can you please inform me why or what you mean by a paper champ.I ask you to explain this because people like you who deride their betters usually run away from direct questions ,hopefully you will not be to pathetic ………

The Roar

Rich, trouble is Groves maybe too green but is still better overall than Paper Champ Carl and arguably has more power. PCC has overrated power and I doubt Groves will fold like Bute did. Bute folded like a typical Euro trash champ who fighs Binmen. I doubt Groves will do the same. I think if Groves can keep a sound defence and counter and move he’ll frustrate the hell outta Paper Champ Carl and could take the UD. We can hope! Go Groves!

When Froch won against Kessler in London, he destroyed any doubt in my mind, about him being a great boxer.

The man (Froch) is hard as a rock, mentally and physically. It really takes balls to take the fight to a man like Kessler, who is so much tougher than Groves.

Froch is not aging, and he can box with the best. I know that Groves will try his best, in the first 2-4 rounds, but he will be Koed by Froch, after that. Groves is certainly a fine boxer, no doubt about it, but Froch is an animal, come fight night.

Groves is nowhere near ready for the man.

I’m off to the shops to buy some pink salmon trousers. Haha

George looks scared. He realises that Carl is going to smash him up. Can’t wait.

I think Groves will start well but Froch should have the KO win in about 10 rounds.

Groves is the younger, fresher, faster and is probably the sharper puncher of the two. Froch is more experience, with a vastly greater opponent-level, more durable and possibly the smarter fighter. Both had good amatuer careers and both are good boxers … but Froch had the greater acomplishments as an amatuer. PS: Anyone who says “Froch isnt a good boxer” … simple doesnt have a clue about this sport ……. and are ignorant to the subtleties of the skills required to succeed at this level.

Lovin’ the war of words. Hopefully the actual fight will be as entertaining.

Posted November 22, 2013 7:22 am

The Roar……Paper champ eh……Well you certainly know your boxing..not..As for him being to open and crude, if that was correct why has he been put down only once. Carl will walk up and down your hero, better fundamentals or not….

Posted November 22, 2013 4:07 am

Groves has quickness on Froch hand and foot skills is a toss up …Though Carl is going eat this kid alive … Cant wait ……….

Posted November 22, 2013 1:42 am

“I think Groves is too fragile for Froch.”……I think so to!! May be better skilled, but too fragile.

Posted November 21, 2013 10:44 pm

Pat Mustard

“Paper champ Carl”? typed like a true keyboard warrior. I think Groves is too fragile for Froch. If Groves wins this a rematch would be huge, I wonder if Eddie has Carl covered in that respect?

Paper Champ Carl? Yeah, we all know Ward beat Froch, but Paper Champ Carl? Bit harsh with that comment..

Posted November 21, 2013 7:12 pm

Neil (Pomy)

love it …. funny stuff at the end

Posted November 21, 2013 7:02 pm

The Roar

Gotta feeling Groves could pull off the upset against Paper Champ Carl. Groves has the better fundamentals, just needs to defend better and counter with his good right hand. Froch is too open and crude. And WTF is the WBA belt doing there?! Ward is the WBA champion not Paper Champ Carl!

” whats with the pink salmon trousers ‘…. love it..

Posted November 21, 2013 2:52 pm

SHINBET, FROCH’S put down over GROVES’S pink, salmon trousers was the coup de grace. What sort of fighter wears garms like this idiot. Groves was seriously rattled as this is the true period where fights are own and lost, just ask RICKY HATTON!

LOVED THE WAY COBRA put ST. GROVES in his place. Like a knight in his body armour, carrying his Championship belts he stepped in Groves’ grill, spooking him and told him the real truth about how he was going to spark him Saturday night and George could see the truth in Carl’s eyes and realised that for the last fortnight it was actually he that had been played as the fool!

Like a lion protecting his kingdom, his pride FROCH stepped to the kid and invaded his space and Groves body language revealed that like a true bully, he is all talk – I don’ t doubt for one moment that ST GROVES won’t put up the fight of his life come fight time, he’s too good a fighter not to, but he realised one thing….. TALK is cheap and he has only stoked COBRA’S fires and he realises he’s in for a whole world of pain and , his long, skinny body where atop rests that skinner neck is gonna getm snapped Saturday night as he gets jacked to his boots when the COBRA attacks.

I see the return of the uppercut if GROVES attempts to get close and shorten the distance and his head snap right back on his skinny neck and the shots go right down to his boots.

CARL has grasped the leash and he’s dared GEORGE to go for it and grab it back….

Somehow, I think GEORGE will not fancy it as CARL wants to get deep into the trenches with this punk!

The two behind the ropes episodes on sky were interesting.. Froch seemed in a better place than Groves does in the build up to the fight.

Posted November 21, 2013 4:23 pm

Froch WKO9

Posted November 21, 2013 4:12 pm

billy muslim boy,i cant see them letting you watch the fight in that bradford mosque you go to.

Posted November 21, 2013 3:23 pm

mr gav

Groves is very under rated and certainly had enough power and agility to do the job but switching trainers and winding up froch are very bad moves. A enraged froch is very dangerous and has the best experience in the world ( he has fought everyone worth fighting). Groves has a chance but I think froch will do a similar job he done to Bute. Froch TKO 5

Posted November 21, 2013 3:11 pm

Grove has all the tools to beat Froch, I don’t think he will but it’s not impossible. Froch can only hit a man if a man stands in front of him. I’ve never seen anyone telegraph his punches so badly!

Froch has the best resume in modern times, wards resume is pretty good aswell but 2nd. Floyd could be on that list but he s not consistant and has fought to many past their prime fighters and did a bit to much cherry picking.

This is a fight that im excited about seeing, I know carl will produce and his opponent cant box a bit so lets see what happens.

Gota go with froch on this one.

Posted November 21, 2013 2:39 pm

Froch by KO.

Posted November 21, 2013 1:53 pm

Groves just gives off the air of a sixth form head boy-he believes he can mix it with adults but in reality he has got plenty to learn

Posted November 21, 2013 1:12 pm

@ Mack, you are spot on, Froch got on it big time, Groves looked a little shell shocked,

Posted November 21, 2013 12:53 pm

get back to your playstation Anonymous BRUCE,boxing aint for little pip squeeks like,BOY!!

Posted November 21, 2013 12:07 pm

I was looking at groves trousers and thinking…. when Froch knocks some sense in to him (which he will do), I was hoping it will be dress sense. was he wearing a velvet jacket as well!! Poor lad gonna know what’s it like to F*$K with the big boyz on Saturday and he should not have antagonized Carl in the build-up. He should do a Ernie Terrell on Grove rather than going for a straight knock-out…. But that would just be cruel of him!!

Posted November 21, 2013 12:04 pm

Groves had won the mind games but not today. Froch looked very assured. George looked like a little kid needing reassurance. This telling how he is going to beat Froch went badly wrong. The people that know boxing know groces is getting knocked out..

Posted November 21, 2013 12:03 pm

This has got fraudly Harrison vs haye all over it! Froch wins within 2 rounds

Posted November 21, 2013 11:22 am

go froch

Posted November 21, 2013 11:04 am

Froch has got the worst dress sense of all boxers hahaaa absolute clip. Poor lad must have a proper complex about is huge one and dress sense, his opponents slate him every opportunity, entertains me no end. On the boxing side……He is gonna get sparked out, he’s a good kid, with good movement. But no power to trouble Carl. He’ll just walk through him.

Posted November 21, 2013 10:59 am

classic hype sh#t,just like the yanks have.

Posted November 21, 2013 10:55 am

Just watched it. Great work by Froch – back on the offensive after all the recent verbals from Groves. That little exchange looked just like what this fight is – man v boy. Groves looks nervous and apprehensive. He’s not ready and he has no-one around him to help him. Froch all the way. Expect the same at the weight-in!!

Posted November 21, 2013 10:53 am

First blood to Froch,
he’s simmering nicely before the boil
Notice Groves only piped up when they said “right that’s it Fellas”
Before it was a quiet almost apologetic mumble
He is going to get broken up and knocked spark out

Posted November 21, 2013 10:40 am

I for one believe Froch when he says George is getting flattened. This has got all the tell sale signs of a hype job to get the sales in. Froch will KO Groves within 4 rounds, it’s likely Groves will be in trouble by the end of the 1st.
