Public Enemy

Abner Mares is running scared from Rigo.. just like Canelo is running from GGG and Chavez Jr from Addonis Stevenson.. a bunch of scared Chihuahuas..

Doesn’t matter if Rigo is the man. If nobody is willing to watch, then what’s the point? Boxing is screwed up, but not so screwed up that exciting fighters like Darchinyan can have more success, win lose or draw, than boring “gifted” fighters like Rigo. And if you don’t believe me, then you didn’t hear that HBO basically told his butt they don’t want him anymore, even if he is head and shoulders above the rest. I think he was given one last opportunity to turn it around with Agbeko, but if he turns in another stinker he’s done. Through with money.

Nonito will win

meat and three veg

Vic’s gonna neutralise the left-hook, work the body, then a straight right down the pipe.

Boxing fans throw up everytime they hear about Donaire-Darcchinyan 2013

Top Wank and HBO doing their re-runs. Screw them won’t pay attention to that fight.

I am confident Vic will do much better. The only thing worries me that if the fight goes to the judges, then no matter how well Vic boxes, arum will make sure that nonito gets the W.
Arum still has a few more years to make money on Nonito.

I don’t think Golden Boy having a deeper pool of boxers has anything to do with it. I think Top Rank just has bad matchmaking and sits on their fighters too long waiting for the right time to make the superfights, and in the meantime the TR fighters either lose unexpectedly or try to bail for another promoter.

I’m interested to see what Vic can do to change the outcome of this fight. In the first fight, Donare just had to swing his left hook in any direction and Vic’s head would somehow be there to meet it… Donaire just couldn’t miss with it and in hindsight, it’s testament to Vic’s toughness that he lasted as long as he did.

Hehehe, it was a bad day in Oz that day for us Aussie boxing fans. In Vic, we had an indestructable and exciting juggernaut who suddenly became human.

I’m still trying to figure out why this fight was made. Darchinyan fought Donaire 6 1/2 years ago. This isn’t a “rematch” it’s just another fight involving the same two guys. A fight I can’t see much need to watch.

All I see is Bob Arum desperately trying to keep his boxers and himself relevant. Top Rank doesn’t have anywhere near as deep a pool of boxers and champions as Golden Boy does. That’s why fights like this get made.

BTW, a “rematch” is what Donaire should be doing with Rigondeaux. Yesterday!

Darchinyan can box too. I thought he beat Mares. If he has a plan to neutralize Nonito’s left, he has a chance.

Posted November 4, 2013 8:50 pm

I think it would be nice if he beat Donaire. Donaire is highly overrated for what is in his resume.

Fight Aficionado

Donaire won’t rematch Rigo because his style is too slick. So this is a typical confidence builder coming after a bad loss. Nothing to see here.

Kid Blast

End of Vic as we knew him.

Posted November 4, 2013 7:49 pm

Expect an upset here. Vic will give one last top line performance and put the lucky punching Donaire into retirement. Only one rule for Vic in this one. Keep your right hand high and roll to your left.

Posted November 4, 2013 7:14 pm

vic can land his straight right counter and close the show.

Posted November 4, 2013 7:00 pm

go get em evil vic. the cuban exposed him.

Posted November 4, 2013 6:59 pm

This fight is three years too late. Vic will get sparked out again, only with less of an even fight leading to that moment like before.

The Honeybadger

Only way for Vic to have any sort of chance is to change his usual approach of aggressively coming forward. The only real true threat he really needs to worry about is Nonito’s mammoth left hook. If Vic can neutralize his left, we can have an interesting fight. But Vic has slowed down thru the years and depended too much on his power. Nonito has always looked like a featherweight to me and towered over most of his opponents. Donaire with look to impress and destroy Vic again by setting up that left hook. He showed a sturdy chin vs Rigo too. I doubt Vic will be able to lure Nonito out his comfort zone. Vic got his wish, tho, after all these years. Hopefully not regretting it!

I think Darchinyan deserves more credit than you give him. Darchinyan is very motivated, that is why he is willing to fight Nonito at this weight class. Darchinyan is at his best when he is an underdog. He only lost to the top fighters and two those loses were somewhat controversial. His loss to Abner Mares was a split decision and he handed Mares his first knock down and he got a lot of low blows.
His last fight he won by KO but the reason he got in trouble during the fight because he was fighting recklessly and overconfident. Expect a different Darchinyan on Saturday. Just remember what he did to Christian Mijares after his loss to Nonito. Never count Darchinyan out in any fight.

I hope Darchinyan starches him. (Well, I can dream…)

so what?, he should be re-matching the Cuban guy.

Donaire by MERCIFUL stoppage.

This fight is way past it’s expiration date.

Posted November 4, 2013 4:50 pm

Donaire by KO, this is going to be repeat and not revenge. Donaire is hungry and angry.
