jackson you know very little about boxing if you think this is GGG’s biggest test. Stevens is a bum, he isn’t even as good as Proksa, Rosado, Macklin, Ishida and Ouma, this will be easy for GGG. He’ll win by KO. Stevens will get taken apart and shown to be the bum he really is. This won’t even be close.

this fight will decide for me whether golovkin is up to the hype–he has great skills, but does he have a big heart?

Posted November 2, 2013 12:22 am

Its funny to watch how this American “gangsta” tough guy crap is worthless against these Eastern fighters who simply shrug their shoulders and then knock all these wannabees out.

Posted November 1, 2013 10:54 pm

Good, so his temp should change much after he’s knocked stiff.

Posted November 1, 2013 10:48 pm

Stevens is as cool and cold blooded as an assassin.

Posted November 1, 2013 8:17 pm

New pizza commercial…. Curtis Stevens, what do you want on your tombstone!?!?

Posted November 1, 2013 6:16 pm

JJ, that was Provodnikov

“MR T”

Yeah, Mr terrified. LOL

Fight Aficionado

I don’t often trip on boxers wearing sunglasses since it’s become more common. But in Stevens’ case I suspect it’s to hide the fear in his wide eyes.

Posted November 1, 2013 4:31 pm

MR T…..

Posted November 1, 2013 12:42 pm

Tomato Can

I think GGG will use his height and reach advantages to nullify Stevens’ power, then take him out within 6 rounds.

Boxing Myth

Hidalgo I have trained in the gym although I never made it in the pro’s I barely made it as a amatuer. I just can’t take the punchs. I was assistant in the gym. A bucket boy. A towel handler. I saw alot and learned a lot. I do know this. The amatuers there is alot of people that come in that think that they can fight. There basically people that cant fight and exit out of fighting when they get hit. Like me for example. When I see a fighter say I fought 50, 60 or 100 fights in the amatuers I say how many of those people out of the bunch that were at least average good ? It doesnt matter how many fights in the amatuers you have what matters is were there any good fighters that became pro and were good fighting in the pro level.

silly Stevens – has his photo taken, and his hat’s on backwards !

Posted November 1, 2013 11:36 am

GGG is the real deal at middleweight. He’ll ko this Stevens.

Posted November 1, 2013 11:26 am

Golovkin will smash up Stevens.

Posted November 1, 2013 11:18 am

Happyboy/Woop Woop/SREDMOND = WHAT A LOSER!!! Hahahahahahaha!

Posted November 1, 2013 11:08 am

“GGG is still digging in the thrash can for rubbish while his nuthhuggers are raving about him as if his the best thing since sliced bread.”

Happyboy, GGG takes the fights his promoter can make for him. Unfortunately, that’s the way it is in boxing. If one of the big names truly wants to fight him, it’s up to them to make the fight happen. Not Gennady. This is why challengers almost always thank a champion for giving them a fight.

All Gennady can do is keep boxing and keep winning. He can’t be avoided forever.

Posted November 1, 2013 10:06 am

“98 percent of the fight in the amatuers are bums”

So, Boxing Myth, you’re saying that all but seven of GGGs opponents in the amateurs were bums? Clearly you’ve never boxed in your life.

Posted November 1, 2013 10:01 am

The real question is will GGG say after the fight like Povotkin Mama, Mama, mama, yelling for his MAMA !

Posted November 1, 2013 9:22 am

Boxing Myth

Sue GGG has fought many times in the amatuers. 98 percent of the fight in the amatuers are bums. The true test will be this sat for GGG.

Jesse Brinkley.

Posted November 1, 2013 7:20 am

Do you even know, or is it that you know but choose not to say?

Posted November 1, 2013 6:21 am

Help me understand how a guy that is humble, exciting and there is proof of his am. Background and people avoiding him, given all that tell me how you dislike him so much, maybe I won’t like him also if you have a good reason maybe its something you and I have it common…. What is it?

Posted November 1, 2013 6:20 am

Is it safe to say its not because he doesn’t talk trash? Is it something else?

Posted November 1, 2013 6:17 am

So Happyboy, tell me, given the trash talkers like Adrian Broner that already do their trashtalk (though he really never fought anyone) and have a tough night with Paulie Malinaggi which is was supposed to beat handily. You seem to not have issue with those type of guys. Golovkin hasn’t trash talked anyone but you seem angry at him? Tell me now, what is your motivation? Or would you rather not say?

Anonymous – Duran is Panamian yet that never stood in his way to greatness and being admired by boxing fans from all over the world. All I hear is excuses from you guys and his nutsack huggers calling out a small WW in Mayweather. Pfft!

Posted November 1, 2013 4:59 am

Point is this fight with Stevens is meaningless just another BUM paid to take his lumps and make GGG look good. Like I said Duran at this stage was a 3-4 division champ # P4P and future HOFmer. GGG is still digging in the thrash can for rubbish while his nuthhuggers are raving about him as if his the best thing since sliced bread.

Posted November 1, 2013 4:54 am

GGG in three.

Posted November 1, 2013 4:21 am

@Happyboy – “dude has been a pro for 9yrs and is 31yrs old… Most great boxers were already made by this stage whats his problem.”

Well, it’s actually been more like 7 years but nevertheless; the dude was sidelined for over 2 years of that waiting for his mandatory with Sturm (a fight that Sturm very blatantly ducked like plague and somehow the WBA kept letting him get away with it).
He also had contractual issues for a time (I believe that was with Universum and may have been related to the Sturm issue coz I’m pretty sure Sturm was also Universum at the time… so he managed to switch to K2).

Golovkin was then promised by the WBA that he’d get the winner of Sturm-Geale. Rather than fight Golovkin, Geale went and fought Anthony Mundine and relinquished the WBA title (i.e. which was passed to Golovkin by default).

Martinez’ team in the past consistently said that there was no money in a GGG fight so they weren’t interested. Only recently Martinez started talking about Golovkin, but he’s only interested in a fight in late-2014.

Quillin very clearly wants no part of GGG. Chavez Jr made a comment of wanting Golovkin at 168 when he was already booked in with Vera (and has gone quiet since his horrible performance in that fight, where he didn’t even make close to 168).

Seriously… how much more proof do people need to see that a guy is being avoided?
This Stevens would not need to be happening if someone (anyone) would just man up and fight this kid.
I believe Murray was the only one who was honestly keen, but he can’t get a US VISA… I’d have loved to see Golovkin go to the UK for a Murray fight, but I guess HBO didn’t like the idea.

Farmboxer, need a cigarette?

Posted November 1, 2013 2:13 am

Golovkin has fought much better fighters than Wilder. Wilder has not fought one ranked fighter. In sparring, Vlad knocked Wilder down with a jab, Hell, Firtha almost knocked Wilder down with a jab………….I paid to see Golovkin fight Ishida. Ishida knocked Kirkland out in the very first round. Golovkin knocked Ishida out in the 3rd round in Japan. It was not only the first time Ishida had been knocked down, but the first time he had been knocked out. Golovkin knocked Ishida through the ropes and out cold!!! Paul Williams could not even hurt Ishida. Macklin gave Martinez a very close fight, a scare for Martinez, but Golovkin knocked Macklin out in the 3rd round!!! Those who cut Golovkin down are the very same ones who claim that Wilder is the greatest heavyweight in the world…….Vlad totally outclassed Wilder………………..Vlad wants to fight Wilder, so does Vitali, we will see…………….

Anonymous – as you have already admited GGG is fighting BUMS until he fights a world class opponent his just all hype, dude has been a pro for 9yrs and is 31yrs old, time is ticking. Most great boxers were already made by this stage whats his problem. I mean he has the right colour and a great amateur record what more does he need, a CJ ROSS.

Posted November 1, 2013 1:28 am

Time for GGG to raise the bar of his compo, as I’m not sold on these BUMS not even ranked in top 10 by any boxing organisation.

Ernie’s Tiny Custard Cannon

Kellerman is a self hating white man. Pay him no mind. The mute button is your friend as is HBO Latino.

Whoop-whoop = part of the post fight recovery team assigned to look for the head of Stevens in the cheap seats.

Posted October 31, 2013 11:30 pm

I hope HBO has better commentating. Kellerman referred to provodkinov as an ESPN2 boxer, but I think he similar to the very good basilio.

Drew Carey’s massive love hole

Stevens already looks scared on youtube, Golovkin is just sat there smiling and looking relaxed. Steven is acting all tough, but he’s crapping himself, it stands out a mile.

Stevens gonna take a real beating, it won’t last long, and he knows it.

Posted October 31, 2013 11:14 pm

golovkin by stoppage after 3 brutal rounds with many knockdowns

Posted October 31, 2013 11:09 pm

still trying to figure out if Stevens pose in that photo is of him being chilled or the look of impending doom…

Posted October 31, 2013 11:03 pm

Woop Woop you got it wrong. The fact is GGG is the gorilla in the room that the champs are trying NOT to see/talk about.

Posted October 31, 2013 10:36 pm

Woop Woop

Not long now until the illusionist GGG pretends to be a world beater by thumping some poor unsuspecting non-ranked fighter. Again he will check all the real champions schedule and call out the guys who are booked. The suckers will jump aboard and call them duckers. Deep down inside GGG scared gut he will smile to himself while always fearing ever to step in the ring with those contenders and champs who won their positions. Keep looking for handouts GGG, sooner or later your myth will be busted.

Drew Carey’s massive love hole

The question is can Stevens last 60 seconds? He might, if he’s lucky.

Posted October 31, 2013 9:52 pm

4 or 5 rounds not 45 :)

Posted October 31, 2013 9:51 pm

Hey guys if my man was a punch than yes but he would not him out in the first round but he’s a puncher boxer which is going to go about maybe 45 rounds check that out :)

Posted October 31, 2013 9:49 pm

Stephens has a punch but he’s not a world beater, he’s going to did out Saturday night acting like “cool guy” with shades on talking about what you are going to do to “Jenna-dee” will get you hurt real good

Posted October 31, 2013 9:47 pm

Why don’t these guys ever learn that trash talking the good Eastern bloc fighters will get them beat to death?

Posted October 31, 2013 9:44 pm

I hope this is a competitive fight for a few rounds.

Posted October 31, 2013 9:29 pm

This guy just signed up for his own piss punching. I hope Stevens’ team has fun looking for their fighter’s head in the cheap seats.

Posted October 31, 2013 9:22 pm

If Stevens thinks he’s going to hook and bang with GGG, it’ll be over early. If he tries to box a little he might last a couple rounds. Either way, don’t blink. GGG wins this one with another highlight-reel KO.
