and the 14 day cut off after that? Better yet why did his fans buy all of his camps dumb excuses for testing…

I am sure u have no issues with Floyd numbing her hands with Xylocaine, so now plz stop ur gravy train.

This fight is meaningless, as a Manny ” Made in China ” won’t be real. Whts there to fear, he KOs a mini Margarito whts the big deal there. Get real!

agreed… But to call yourself honorable and squirm around testing, isn’t so honorable.

The proven cheats only prove what I’ve always stated, that if top athletes in other sports are doing PED’s then top athlete’s in boxing are doing them too. And their still doing them.

Posted November 1, 2013 12:01 am

Let me tell you something tomato can , they all use peds I can guarantee you on that ,al of them but these days is all about how good you can get undetected in all sports not only boxing .ask yourself is it possible for mayweather to grow all those muscles whild still active in boxing?

Posted November 1, 2013 12:00 am

Not only positive about paqiao , I always hated the catch weight fight he had with cotto especially when they asked him to drop two more pounds at 145 that’s absolute bs and deceiving , because those who trained boxing themselfs know the prices if losing weight and how hard it is , it’s not the dehydration that weakens the boxer it’s more the training that they have to change because instead if let’s say working for power ,speed endurance they have to focus more on losing weight all the time so to make you lose two extra pounds it’s huge for boxer who have hard time to reach their lowest desire weight they fight !

Posted October 31, 2013 11:55 pm

Do you think Peterson and Berto, and Jones are the only one’s using PED’s??? I’m sure you don’t, and neither do I. Which is exactly why Pacquiao, the top fighter in the sport at the time, should have said, yes to random testing. He should have recognized that he was a top athlete in a PED era, and stood up for better testing. It would have been the honorable thing to do… Hey, but now he’s warmed up to it, right…

But now that he took that knock out (pissed pants and all) He’s starting see things the way I saw them all along. He’s supposedly doing the random testing now, and I commend him on that, even though I’m leery about the legitimacy of that testing.

Posted October 31, 2013 11:41 pm

Actually, I was a big Pacquiao fan, until he squirmed out of random testing, and fans backed him on it.

Posted October 31, 2013 11:38 pm

Pac is a great and exciting fighter. He’s fun to watch. He’s at least the 4th or 5th best in the sport today, even with that horrible knock out loss. I wish him the best on his comeback run. But right now he’s matched up with a stationary fighter who’s face will welcome Manny’s punches like he’s throwing a party for them. Sure, this is the exact type of fight Manny needs right now. But his fans don’t need this type of fight, they need the reality that Rios probably won’t bring, unless he’s able to weather the strom, and land punches on Manny’s body and chin.

If there was a 14 day cut off in the Mayweather Mosely fight, why did Mosely get tested the week of the fight just as he left for Vegas, as well as on fight night.

Posted October 31, 2013 10:07 pm

What weight was Floyd suppose to make for Marquez, why did Marquez agree to go ahead with the fight, did Mayweather muscle Marquez around the ring with his weight advantage???? Why would PAC agree to up to the day of the fight random testing, and the 14 day cut off after that? Better yet why did his fans buy all of his camps dumb excuses for testing… Poor Manny, now he likes testing. Good for him, he’s come around full circle, hasn’t he.

Why was there 14 days cut off time for rbt for Mosley vs floyd fight?

Btw, the cover pic is the central feature of Pacquiao’s* fanboys recurring and never-ending nightmare. it is also the primary reason that Manny* no longer registers on “Money’$” radar. as an opponent(?), Pacquiao* no longer makes any sense.

Posted October 31, 2013 7:43 pm

I’m a Pacquiao fan as well as a Mayweather fan these two have been the dominant figures in the sport over the past several years… That said Pac Man loyalists like REM, Hecdog and the spineless Adrian are CONSTANTLY living in the past! They treat Mannys career as if its a STILL PHOTO of his best moments in the ring. REALITY is that a fighters career is FLUID in nature and at this point Manny is at a LOW point… The WORST of his actual “on the radar” career… Losing to Morales on points was what it was, but getting hammered by a 39 year old Marquez has people asking ALL the right questions ie can he regain his stride? is he done? and doubting he would ever have competed with Floyd Mayweather….Pacquiao had 4 fights to try and figure out an aging Marquez and what did he do? He got knocked down HARD and then he got KNOCKED OUT HARDER…. These guys will stroke thieir willys to the rounds he won or when he had JMM on stiff legs but we have SEEN this before, Manny could NEVER put Marquez away and it finally cost him…He was like the guy in the horror movie that wounds but does NOT take out the killer only to get his head caved in with an AX the next scene…. Floyd Mayweather is fighting superior competition with a totally different risk profile than Pac now… Manny has to go after a rehabbing 140 pounder coming off a loss while Mayweather outboxed a FRESH undefeated young stud who, is considered BIG for the 154 pound weight class “Piece of Cake”…. Manny and his fist of fury stopping all his opponents has not been seen in YEARS… Mosley, Clottey, Margarito, Bradley, Marquez 2x all HEARD the bell !!! In fact during the span the ONLY guy that did NOT hear the bell was Pacquiao in the final fight with JMM…. Pac has a WAY to go in order to reestablish himself and frankly Brandon Rios is a SNACK he is being fed, should he struggle or lose put a fork in it and lets cease this 3 year GROUP circle jerk because like it or NOT Floyd Mayweather is the BEST fighter in the Solar System….

“if PAC ‘avoided’ Marquez by giving him 4 chances” Over EIGHT (8) F’n Years?! conversely, Vasquez and R. Marquez completed their trilogy in one year with each bout becoming an FOY candidate. Btw, Marquez and ONLY Marquez is responsible for even a second bout happening. after all, it’s Marquez who moved up in weight, unified lightweight (which Pacquiao* has never done at ANY weight), and conceded every imaginable condition to compel Pacquiao* to face him. even after being DEMOLISHED Pacquiao* is still trying to dictate purse-split and location for a 5th bout, which makes me wonder whether he even recalls the 4th bout happening? he KTFO that Cold and Decisively.

“In case you Pac fans haven’t been paying attention, Floyd takes on challengers after they achieved great losses.” – The Prince, that makes sense once your typo has been corrected. Cotto after Pacquiao and Margo KOed him, Ortiz after Maidana destroyed him, Mosley years after his prime.

Posted October 31, 2013 4:49 pm

You are right, in the first negotiations Pac was bigger than Floyd because Floyd temporarily retired. Floyd agreed to everything Pac wanted. Ring size, glove size, who walks in first, what weight they would fight at, the ridiculous demand of 10 mil for every pound over weight. And Floyd asked for 1 thing, 1 thing only and that was random drug testing. But Pac just wouldn’t agree to random testing. So what does that say Adrien? Oh Floyd is throwing up roadblocks? He is scared of Pac? Only in the eyes of Pac fans. When you look through both sides of the glass you see that Arum didn’t want to put Pac in with Floyd because if there is one thing Arum does no is boxing and he knew Pac would lose and his money train would of dwindled badly.

Escuse me sir so when mayweather fought Marquez and Mosley they were in their prime eh??

Don’t forget margarito clotty Bradley that mayweather didn’t fight them
Now guys like you will say PAC Lost against Bradley even though everyone knows he got robbed but you point to judges ruling and that’s important because it favors your argument but when mayweather gets a majority decision against Canelo you are all up in arms against it … You can’t have it both ways

Only if Pac would of agreed to random testing instead of making excuses we could of got Pac vs Floyd. And then after Floyd beat Pac we could all hear how he was hand picked and Pac wasn’t ready for Floyd. That seems to be the case for every Floyd opponent even though Pac gets full credit when he fights the same fighters.

REM, Pacquiao* DID Avoid Marquez. unless you think it’s normal or preferable(?!) to take Eight (8) F’n years over four weight-classes to conclude a rivalry. even while all along Pacquiao* could’ve confirmed ANY matchup he truly wanted. moreover, before each one of their bouts, Team Pacquiao* was transparent about their belief that Marquez was either (and finally) “old” and/or too small to defeat Pacquiao* at increasingly higher weights. IMO, they miscalculated Each and Every time but they were transparent about their belief that each bout would be a mismatch in favor of Pacquiao*. only the notoriety of the inexplicable scorecard nod for Manny* in III compelled Pacquiao* to finally agree to the only rematch of their rivalry and he was DEMOLISHED. IMO, it would’ve happened sooner at 126lbs or 130lbs IF Pacquiao* had not Avoided Marquez all along.

May-Pac will be a good competitive fight.. It will be an action fight……. He will try to keep the fight at an optimum range for Pac like he did vs De La Hoya… That could give Floyd extra problems.

Will it be enough to beat Floyd??? Probably not.. But it will be a classic.

Adrian dont stop just at manny beating Cotto at a catchweight….u left out oscar….u also left out the fights vs mosley/Marquez, both over 40 yrs old….there isnt a leg 2 stand on when comparing the 2. Floyd has faced more world champs…Had more title fights….had more time at no.1 pnd 4 pnd in there careers…more time in the top ten also…..earned way more coin….Has better PPV numbers…look at both guys last 10 fights? Pacs either fighting old has beens. Or never will be’s…or fighting guys who gave been already scared after Floyd has given them a lesson? Meanwhile Floyds older and has been beating younger, bigger, stronger guys……argument over.

Posted October 31, 2013 5:14 am

Mayweather win over Canelo is irrelevant just as PAC win over cotto that all you PAC haters were always barking about the catch weight but now when mayweather fight at catch weight and make a guy die before the fight trying to make weight you all praise that and btw you are the sand people who were saying Canelo is too big for mayweather and he bearly makes 154 pounds but it’s all alright with for him to drop two more pounds ….

Again both PAC win over cotto and mayweather win over Canelo are wins nothing to brag about!

That is more times than Pac has been Champ. And the whole debate will start with why did Pac decline randome testing?

You seem new to Pac vs Floyd drama, let me help you.

May-Pac will be a good competitive fight.. It will be an action fight.. Pacquiao won’t be weight drained.. He’ll be trained to the nth degree.. He will use speed, attacking ability, athletic agility, punching power, angles, and great durability to make it a great fight.. sad truth is… Pac is almost at FMJ’s level on 2010… but now? hmm… let’s say Pac destroys Rios (Which will be difficult, and i say REALLY DIFFICULT) still, he’s not on FMJ’s level…

FMJ looked better in his last fight against a Young, Hungry, and not to mention Bigger Canelo, he slide, Pot shot and showed ring generalship plus with his dad on his corner expect a slicker FMJ,

for Pac, i applaud Roach on what he has done on Pac, but both of them become predictable, Dart in and out, slide to the right, punch in bunches, it’s not that i am saying Pacs got a low Ring IQ but its been his style eversince.

FMJ would capitalize his mistakes… but hey! as i always say, its boxing…

Posted October 30, 2013 6:45 pm

The public has spoken loudly and proclaimed that Floyd definitely does NOT need Pacquiao….Pacs destruction at the hands of Marquez (a common opponent) combined with his struggling so badly and getting a debated win in the 3rd fight simply left a lot of fans with the feeling that this guy is not on Floyd Mayweathers level… There will always be diehards like REM and Hecdog who refuse to accept the unceremonious demotion that Marquez laid on Pacquiao but it is what it is….They are stuck in 2010 when PAC Man was on a tear and everyone wanted to see a clash between he and Floyd…Fast forward to 2013 and we have articles being printed with Manny facedown on the canvas….PAC Mans last bout against Bradley failed to cross 1million buys that’s why TR wants to put him in with JMM again should he win… Arum has been pretty clear he’s leery of trying another Bradley bout despite the fact Tim won when he and Marquez squared off…Meanwhile Mayweather has become Unified, Lineal Champ at 154 pounds and is also WW Champ… What’s PAC Man the Champ of??? If Mayweather needs Pacquaio more than vice versa then why was Manny discussing taking much less? If they fough what would the spilt be now??? 65 to 35 Floyd’s way??? Pac would have to take it given the stakes…

Dr. Phil Thieze-Knutz

Beating Andre Berto after he was off the juice hardly qualifies as a ‘Great win’. The refusal is on both sides lil floyd & the old lawyer. Ducking might be on both sides now but Jr started putting up the roadblocks as soon as he was at the table. Maybe Pac was juicing. But that little stipulation that started for that negotiation reads how Lil floyd wanted no part of the Pac that everyone else was facing. That speaks louder then any of lil floyd’s groupies care to admit.

Posted October 30, 2013 6:34 pm

I don’t think a lot of people realize just how small physically Manny Pacquiao is. Yes he looks ripped, but his frame is very small compared to the majority of guys he’s fought. Manny has the frame of a 126 pounder, but he looks deceivingly bigger because he has no fat on him. Manny has always struggled just get to the agreed upon weight. He has no advantages. It’s his pure skill, ferocity, power and fighting style that wins his fights, not the physical size advantages that most of his opponents have. This just adds more to the amazement of Manny Pacquiao.

In case you Pac fans haven’t been paying attention, Floyd takes on challengers after they achieved great wins, not losses. Also, for those whom want to play stupid, there is a rivalry going on between Golden Boy and Top Rank. Meaning, Floyd won’t be fighting any Top Rank boxers, because Bob Arum refuses to deal with Floyd, where was Golden Boy is more than happy to, because Oscar wants somebody in his camp to take Floyd’s 0 from him. It’s time to face reality Pac fans and understand the Mayweather fight will never happen, unless Pac leaves Top Rank first, and I believe he recently sign on to Top Rank for another long contract. Bottomeline: Pacquiao ducked Mayweather for an believed easy third fight with Marquez, the gambit failed–twice.

Well unfortunately in his reign if terror he declined to take the random testing to fight Floyd. If he would accepted we could of seen that fight. Also in his reign of terror he never fought a welter with out a catch weight stipulation except for Clottey and Mosley. After taking a beating from Margacheato he has never been the same

Well a lot of people think Floyd is the greatest. Sorry

Posted October 30, 2013 6:10 pm

In his prime, at the top of his game, Manny Pacquiao could have beaten anyone. He was as dominate a fighter as anyone that has ever boxed. Manny was executing opponents like no other. If Floyd had fought him during his reign of destruction, Floyd would have been defeated and most likely stopped him. This man had the speed, power, agility, endurance, and athleticism to beat anyone from 130-160. Many current and past boxing champions and legends that saw Manny Pacquiao during this reign agreed with me. A fight between a prime Duran would have been the fight of all times as would have been Manny Pacquiao vs Sugar Ray Robinson and Manny Pacquiao vs Julio Cesar Chavez. Manny’ Pacquiao’s prime was unmatched. On a one fight basis, It’s hard for me to see anyone beating Manny Pacquiao. His style could not be figured out in one fight. He was extraordinary. No one could have matched his power or speed. Simply put, he was just too good.

Ok, that is fine, your right he does not need to get that type of money from Floyd. But fact is they offered the fight many times and the declined the drug test and the 40 mil offered. So obviously it has something to do about money. They didn’t want to pay Marquez the extra money he was wanting. But yeah he gets millions anyways. But the fact is coming off 2 loses is not gonna get you a fight with Floyd.

Posted October 30, 2013 4:47 pm

And oh btw who is the only big money fight left for Floyd ha the one and only.

Posted October 30, 2013 4:40 pm

SRed your post doesn’t refute the fact that Pac isn’t in the Floyd sweepstakee nor will he ever be.

Posted October 30, 2013 4:36 pm

Gatti went life and death with Mickey Ward and was polverized by Alfonso Gomez he wasn’t worldclass and Baldamire couldn’t afford the santioning fees for all of Judahs belts these were 2 clubfighters.

The Prince

Really? So Manny beating a ready made win like Rios means he’ll be a nightmare for Mayweather? Nice try in once again hyping a fight that will not happen, because of boxing politics.

Love him or hate him uncle Bob ” Mr I lied yesterday but today I’m telling the truth” knows the game., how to make it, get paid and kill it.

Posted October 30, 2013 4:07 pm

Pac is gonna spank Rios real bad, move on to Bradley, then Provodnikov or even Marquez and there is still Alvarado. Uncle Bob is still gonna milk Manny especially if the Chinese market becomes a success, he has 4 more fights to offer Pacman in a new market and still use Mayweather vs PAC fight as bait / marketing tool to sell his cash cow to the East and the rest of the world.

Posted October 30, 2013 4:03 pm

Rem what ur u talking about Floyd is the top paid athlete in the world and that don’t matter he is still undefeated champ u don’t lose 3 then win 1if he win then jump to the champ never mind talking to u pointless

Posted October 30, 2013 4:00 pm

Pacquaio is certainly a rich man but the HAULS that Floyd is taking are simply beyond anything ever seen in boxing history… Arguing numbers is simply immature and silly… Pac has had a few SUB 1mill PPV’s Floyd just did 2.2 mill on one bout and counting, his guarantee is 2x what Pac USED to make for a guarantee thats not counting the OTHER money Floyd takes down as lead promoter… Again Manny makes alot of loot but Floyds gone to another level….

Posted October 30, 2013 3:57 pm

Sredmond u can’t tell PAC fans they think PAC can just jump I front of the guys that beat him and the guy that haven’t lost a fight Floyd will figh him but at the end of the road if PAC win another worthy fighter that will hype it more for more $$$ so PAC fans give it a rest till PAC wins then Floyd will listen plus get away from top rank

Posted October 30, 2013 3:55 pm

Team manny plans are as dumb as can be, WTF. New article manny last weight is 142lb
So they when back to manny as a boxer days, or points, don’t help non as he is not teach defense.

Posted October 30, 2013 3:52 pm

Peej this is the grave mistake made by Floyd fans in this debate Pac isn’t inthe Floyd sweepstakes he’s a cash cow himself he’s not it primarily for that huge payday he’s the 2nd highest paid athlete in the world.

Posted October 30, 2013 3:47 pm

Dr Phil, your mind is on the WRONG issues… I would love to see them fight just to get this discussion over with I personally don’t give Pac Man the slimmest shot of winning… He does NOT have a single advantage absent being a couple of years younger than Floyd.. Point is that whats gonna be the catalyst for these companies to break their stalemate? it will have to be an HUGE upsurge in demand… Mayweather has already defeated his perceived most dangerous rival in a semi relevant weight class (Canelo) we know he can bring in the BANK.. Manny vs Rios is Loser vs Loser despite Pacs prior history…. See that magnitude of his loss was HUGE, it was not a points loss or tough TKO he was DESTROYED and that picture is what is in peoples minds when you discuss an FMJ bout with him….

Posted October 30, 2013 3:45 pm

Bradley should be the next to fight Floyd he beat the man who put PAC to sleep but enough bout PAC let’s talk about the boxers that haven’t lost or came back and won some fights he’ll PAC got to get his figh over with first

Posted October 30, 2013 3:44 pm

Pacquiao beating Rios is NOT gonna create the type of demand it will take to get these companies to even consider bridging that gap.. Rios is a REHAP bout a step above Cotto facing Delvin Rodriguez and Rodriguez was native to 154….No one will be fooled if Pac Man has a STELLAR performance against Rios hes SUPPOSED to…. Rios would NOT even be allowed to spar with Floyd Mayweather let alone schedule a 12 round bout… I have no issue with them fighting but realistically if you are gonna get the BUZZ to a point where Schaefer calls Arum or vice versa its gonna take MORE than Brandon Rios…

Posted October 30, 2013 3:40 pm

Gatti was coming off of 5 straight wins before he fought Floyd, And Baldomir was on a 7 fight win streak. So you might want to check your facts again. As for Oscar beating Sturm no I don’t think he won just like I don’t think Pac beat Marquez in the 3rd fight. But apparently they where trying to save both of them for the major payday against Hopkins and Floyd. Unfortunately Arum doesn’t do business with Floyd or Golden Boy. Oscar did get to fight Sturm. And no I don’t think Bradley won but it was a close fight and since Pac decided to fight for 30 seconds a round, I think that cost him the fight. He definitely didn’t land as many punches as compubox claimed he landed and never once hurt Bradley. Bradley didn’t even look like he came out of a fight.

Posted October 30, 2013 3:34 pm

Srdmond I agree I heard it.when Freddy said that but the PAC fans can’t Believe it look it won’t happen PAC fans it’s over bob arum won’t let it go like that PAC is at the end if he don’t leave top rank plus PAC has to win this fight which I think he will but he have to ko this kid or beat the hell out of him

Posted October 30, 2013 3:25 pm

Dr. Phil Thieze-Knutz

Losing 2 in a row takes you out of a lil floyd fight? But if you lose 3 times in a row you get it, like Gatti. Or is it because DLH really beat Sturm just like Bradley really beat Pac? Baldomir must not have lost to the Same guy twice in a row, right? Mitchell didn’t either. Keep moving that goal post back, son.

Posted October 30, 2013 3:21 pm

Well considering Pac has lost 2 fights in a row, yes he should need to beat a credible opponents. Actually all Pac had to do was become the mandatory for one of Floyds belts and then have it go to purse bid. If Floyd really didn’t want to fight him he would give the belt up instead of defend it. And when it comes to Pac there is not a single sanctioning body that would not rank Pac in their rankings.

Posted October 30, 2013 3:16 pm

Dr. Phil Thieze-Knutz

Manny needs to get Rios out of the way and beat a credible opponent at 147, because he hasn’t done that already several times, right? Prop Andre Berto up on those baby deer legs & lets get the ‘credible’ welter opponent that the last few guys beat out of the way. Pac just has to win his next fight. Pac’s welter credibility isn’t in question. Even Beiber won’t agree on that one with you SRED.

Posted October 30, 2013 3:12 pm

Tee Pee, Freddy Roach has been overselling the outcomes of Pacquiao fights for quite sometime now… He saw his fighter FLATBLASTED, he knows if Manny books a loss the slide that all fighters experience has begun in earnest… AGAIN notice that REM just rants like a kid having a tantrum about “this must happen” but he does NOT address the reality of these companies NOT doing business for a couple years now…Going on about 2010 is pointless as of today in terms of making the fight, these are the 2013 going into 2014 issues… 1.) Pacquiao needs to beat Rios with NO issues if he struggles or loses he’s done.. 2.) Pacquiao needs to defeat a solid WW opponent Bradley would be a good choice due to the Marquez angle.. 3.) Most important, he needs to leave Top Rank to make this bout there is simply no way GBP and Top Rank are gonna work together to make this fight we have already seen that Soap Opera…

Rem so what does Pacs history have to do with Floyd fighting him? Pac has lost 2 in a row. That pretty much puts you out of the Mayweather sweepstakes.

Posted October 30, 2013 3:02 pm

Ya mama

That another mistake Raymond, PAC 6 fight streak was fighting at 146-147 he was fast then got slower going for magarito fight weight, forgot what that was, going down to 145 for Marquez he tried to top Floyd by fighting at meeting him at a low weight but it back fired, he should get back his best fight weight 146- 147 as then he had the option of stopping the fight which won many of his fight, damage then, now he less potent and less serious, let’s see if he more serious and still less power is enough for rio.

Posted October 30, 2013 2:57 pm

Pacquiao is literally fighting for RELEVANCE and continued elite status in the sport.. His own trainer said that if he loses or looks BAD against Brandon Rios then he will tell him to “retire”………….. This is NOT a man on top his game, this is a man who has been BADLY beaten by Marquez, robbed against Bradley and got a controversial M/D against an OLD Marquez in the 3rd fight…. To be honest Pacquiao presents less of a challenge at this point that Canelo did, and thats NOT because Alvarez is more dynamic than Pacquiao its because he had some physical advantages in size and absolute power that would have been an issue if he were able to make solid contact with Floyds chin or rib cage… Pac Man would NOT be physically stronger than Floyd, he is NOT a bigger hitter than Cotto so his ONLY road to victory is what? Outbox Floyd in the middle of the ring with the SAME strategy that got him KOed against Marquez? Pacquiao is not gonna change at this point in his career anymore than Floyd will… Floyds style has kept him on the WINNING side of the equation and out of Wars, Manny is forever exchanging blows with FAR lessor talents than Mayweather and JMM caught up with him and laid him LOW…. NO Mayweather fans are NOT gonna treat the Pac Man of 2013 post KO like they would have the Pac of 2010 who made for a more interesting opponent, this Manny needs to get Rios out of the way then go ahead and beat a credible opponent at 147, its been quite awhile since he had his hand raised right or wrong…

Team PAC has made so much mistake, and Manny too is one hard head PI. as most are hard headed try giving them good intended advise, good luck, work, and know many.
Manny has it in his head that he too put on a show for the fans, wrong, your at the top fighter you can do that anymore, finished it quickly. So watch him sparing you still see him after a good combination, he sometime let the partner punch back at him midsection and he let it show that he can take it, wrong, this should be stop! Boxing is about points. Taps are counted, you can’t be touched, wrong it is carried into the fight.
I believe you will see a serious manny this fight blow away rio, but he will also give away points body which he stupidly will do watch for on the ropes and letting rio punch the body.

His team should work on watching one of the best attacker slugger that was Terry norris he avoided counter punchers by alway had the opposite hand blocking counterpunching and moving his head back from punching ,as he unload his deadly hard combination. All 1-4 punches on a few second. Damm he could do this all night.
And after manny punches and as close and touching learn to hold, don’t let anyone tap you on the body as these are taking away from your early combination, grow and learn manny don’t be set in your ols hard headed ways as the competition are better and no room to give away points.

To put Havoc’s post in better perspective, he’s basically stating tha if Mayweather were to sign a fight with Marquez; then Mayweather would be cherry picking. However, if Pacquiao were to sign a fight with Marquez, everything would be legit, because Pac might just get koed again… The fact is Mayweather/Pacquiao loses more relevence with every passing day.

Posted October 30, 2013 2:28 pm

Floyd will not fight Pacman. Pacman is not a shot fighter. Floyd is a great cherry picker. He knows who is inexperience, shot or old. Every wins comes with calculated cherry picked opponents.

Posted October 30, 2013 2:22 pm

REM, as of today Pacs a LOSER despite his glorious past! Until he starts winning again you are buried in 2010 or 2011… It’s about to be 2014 the man is in the same boat as Cotto even though Miguel was not getting clobbered by a guy who NEVER even booked a win at 147 besides PAC….(Marquez) Let Manny deal with Rios then see what the future holds, status in boxing is a fluid thing as of right now Mannys stock is down a lot from its peak… He was on the receiving end of a HISTORICALLY BAD KO, right there with Hearns putting Duran on his face…

Posted October 30, 2013 2:21 pm

PAC should have to fight Canelo first in order to get Floyd the truth is out on PAC he hasn’t won sense the juicing thing came up lol

Floyd has fought guys PAC fought and won plus he didn’t get koed or put to sleep so give him his just due and stop the hate PAC should have took the 40mil and test why didn’t any other fight have a problem fighting Floyd but PAC please stop trying to make pacman all that

Posted October 30, 2013 2:15 pm

REM, your stroking yourself to some light moments of jeopardy Floyd had against Judah and Corley as evidence of his insane vulnerability against lefties… He won BOTH fights going away when the smoke cleared… It’s more RATIONAL to say Pacquiao has a FATAL sensitivity to right hand counterpunchers because we just saw one knock him unconscious and leave him flat on his face, this same right hand counterpuncher has pretty much fought him to a standstill on 3 other occasions… So history says Mayweather fairs FAR better against lefties than Pacquaio does against right handers like Marquez and Morales…. Pacs been stopped 3x, the man is beatable and the whole sport HAS BEEN reminded…

Posted October 30, 2013 2:14 pm

Dr phill I get it u don’t like Floyd and that’s cool but as a boxing fan u can’t take anything from Floyd he is the best out hate him or luv him he is the face of boxing right now u can say what u want nobody had beat him whoever u think can beat it hadn’t been done right now

Tamato can I’ve siad many times all Floyd has to do is man up and fight his equal and rival of this era and I will give him his due. I say equal to be modest because it is clear who the more accomplished fighter is. Right now the only thing that is clear is TMT is still extremely leary of Pac judging by the comments Floyd, Pop and Uncle have made over the years. I can’t wait for the naive confidence in Floyd to be crushed along with Floyds nose.

Peej- Lil floyd forfeited the catchweight card a month ago. The ‘stand out’ on lil floyd’s welter list is Judah who is as consistent as a mental patient. Most of lil floyd’s opponents didn’t have to do a catch weight because they just moved up from a lower division. Pac’s opponents get the edge. Bradley trumps Guerrero.

Posted October 30, 2013 1:57 pm

I hope this fight comes off, even thouth it’s painfully obvious who’ll win if they do. It’ll be a good fight, but it won’t settle anything with Pacquiao fans, because these fans still refuse to give Marquez credit, and you don’t win fights more convencingly than Marquez beat Pacquiao.

Posted October 30, 2013 1:51 pm

In his prime pac had a style that could bother may! Chop chop n zab are lefties that rocked floyd. Pac may have done the same back in the day. But not now! Floyd has gotten better. Pac has regressed!

Posted October 30, 2013 1:36 pm

Manny was lost all credit even a K.O. or win over Rios means nothing he is a nobody. Manny needs a rematch with Marquez or Cotto, Bradley, Garcia and or a win over Alverez before we can start talking Floyd again he has a long way to go to redeem himself but a convincing with over any of these guys and he is right back. But beating Rios means nothing Arum hand picks his opponets and they want no parts of Mayweather period…

And lets see, for the exception of a a couple of rounds, Floyd clearly was as dominant as he has been against lefties. Cotto didn’t fight as a lefty, he fought as a righty. He may be left handed but he fights as a right handed fighter. But Floyd has always been extremely dominant of lefties.

Peej technically ww is anything above 139 so the jrww fights factor in. Me and you will have to agree to disagree on this topic because I see catchweights as a good thing it’s a way for 2 elite fighters in different weightclasses to meet on a level playing field. I consider Pac v Margo a ww fight like I consider Cotto v Floyd to be a ww fight neither Cotto nor Margo can compete at the top of jmw.

No rem oscar us to be with top rank then he left cuz arum was fking over and started gb and been having problems with arum just like Floyd did

Posted October 30, 2013 12:38 pm

Dude he could never keep Marquez down. So really doesn’t matter how many times he knocked him down. Not to mention there are many people who felt that Marquez won all 3 fights including boxing trainers. I am not one of them. I think he lost the first 2 and won the last 2. And once again if Pac would of agreed to random testing instead of constantly asking for cut off dates after Floyd agreed to everything Pac asked for then the fight should of been made. So clearly Pacs side is the reason the fight did not come off.

Posted October 30, 2013 12:30 pm

SRed Pac fought Oscar and after the fight they left the ring professing how they idolize each other before that Marquez was a GB fighter and the promotional companies had no problem making the fights the rift between them is Floyd. Just another fun fact that lays the blame at Floyds feet. I side with Pac because of the overwhelming evidence that Floyd avoided him not from blind loyalty like Floyd fans. As far as the matchup yeah Floyd beat some lefties far below Pacs level but for dropped by Zab ate hard powershots from Corley and had his most flushed by a grazing jab from Cotto. The Zab kd was telling since it wasn’t from being hurt it was from bad positioning he’s not the same elite fighter against southpaws. Marquez who everyone credits for competing so well with Pac has hit the deck 5xs been badly hurt twice and has officially list twice unofficially 3xs out of 4 fights. Floyd can’t stop Pacs attack and passed up on 100mil because of it.

Posted October 30, 2013 12:15 pm

Also how does Clotteys performance against Cotto put him at the top when he lost against Cotto?

Posted October 30, 2013 12:14 pm

And you where talking about WW not JrWW. So you can’t include the 2. IT is 2 different weight classes. I can say Floyds run at 135 was better than Pac since Pac only fought Diaz. Who was not that good.

Posted October 30, 2013 12:13 pm

You can’t actually compare who did better with the same comp. Floyd is not a power puncher, Pac is. You could check the stats and it will show that Floyd got hit less than what Pac does but just because he KOd them means nothing. Floyd is not a KO puncher. And since everyone is making a bid deal about catchweight fights because of the Canelo fight then it has to be noted that there has been a catchweight most of Pacs WW fights. Clottey and Mosley are the exception. I don’t care that Oscar got beat, he is the one that asked for it at welter but he had no business being there. And that showed. So really Floyds run at welter is way better than Pacs. Because he beat a few welters with no catchweights. Not to mention beating the lineal WW Champ. And Pac got beat by Bradley and KOd by Marquez.

Posted October 30, 2013 12:11 pm

Benjamin franklin

I really don’t care who wins the Mayweather vs Pacman, I just think it’s about time it happened. I doubt it will happen anyway coz it looks like Floyd don’t want any VADA testing which I’m a little shocked about .

Posted October 30, 2013 11:55 am

Although Margo is clearly a cheater he did share the ring with top wws Cotto, Clottey, Mosley and Pac. Clotteys performance against Cotto put him at the top of the ww division. Bradley was the undisputed jrww champ at the time. These guys carry more credentials than Baldamire, Gatti, Judah, Ortiz and Guerrero. Then when you factor in Pacs more dominant performances against fighters both have fought it is clear who the better ww is.

Posted October 30, 2013 11:53 am

REM, is actually a pretty civil poster he is PAINFULLY loyal to Manny the way a mother is to her retarded son she thinks is still gonna growup and be President.. Mayweathers record against lefties has been FLAWLESS as evidenced by is 45-0 record and never taking a beating from one…He fought 2 over the last couple years and that resulted in a KO and a WIDE UD sooooooo where is this deficit? you gonna discuss Judah looking competitive for a couple rounds then getting BEATDOWN to the point of fouling and bleeding from his mouth and nose??? These are CRYS for help by the Ant-Mayweather faction, all have a Gameplan that they treat like an Al Quaeda sleeper cell ie ONE DAY in the distant future it will activate….Mayweather is gonna be 37, he has been doing this for 17 years and he has not been taken in 45 bouts… Manny Pacquiao has been figured out and there is a CLEAR way to beat him, UNFORTUNATELY that gameplan happens to just be Floyds NORMAL way of doing business… Sound defense, and SUPER crisp counter-punching… Pac Mans jab is GARBAGE compared to Mayweathers and most so called “Experts” believe thats part of the equation, Pacquiao is NOT big enough to bully Mayweather so whats he gonna do? Swing for the fences which is what ALL Floyd opponents do once their cartoonish gameplans dont yield results when the bell rings…

Posted October 30, 2013 11:51 am

Pacquiao deserves credit for beating ODH, Cotto and the rest above 140, people forget that Oscar was the FAVORITE to defeat Pacquiao and there had to be a meeting in the middle the idea that Pac was gonna go from 135 against Diaz to 154 against ODH is ridiculous and unfair, Oscar came down 1 and Pac came down 2, I have NO sympathy for De La Hoya getting that beating he was discussing KOing Pacquiao pre fight and then he got murdered….Fact is that Manny is really not a “TRUE” WW in the modern era as it pertains to size but he achieved ALOT in the division and it will always be part of his legacy despite guys acting like 2 pounds is gonna let another man BEAT the hell out of you…. Only fight I don’t really accept as a true “title fight” is Margo, because Tony was NOBODY at 154 and Pac NEVER fought at that weight….

Posted October 30, 2013 11:45 am

REM, the fact remains that GBP and Top Rank DESPISE eachother and Oscar and Bob Arums hatred predates Mayweathers defection from TR and the now solidified Cold War betweent the two business entities..Do you want to whine about what was or discuss what IS today…Cotto vs Canelo is being discussed and the ONE fact that has been put forth is that NO Top Rank rep is gonna be part of that discussion, its a sad state of affairs for the sport but it is what it is… The only way I see GBP and Pacquiao working together is if Pac leaves TR for a HUGE cashout bout with Mayweather…. AGAIN I have no issue seeing Floyd Mayweather make Pac Man look like a sparring partner, Manny is a guy whos rehabbing himself in the sport whereas Mayweather is ascending to NEW heights… After 8 years Pac Man could not develop a gameplan that would end the threat of Juan Manuel Marquez, it would take him 80 years to figure out a gameplan to get a win off of Floyd Mayweather… When the heat is turned up Pac Man is still a FACE FIRST , straight left hand, right hook fighter and thats been enough on the majority of nights but against Floyd he will sit at the end of that jab and get slugged everytime his off balance lunges try to get past that “72” inch reach….

Happyboy and Marquez was soundly beaten by a fighter Pac completely dominated so that is now a weak argument.

Posted October 30, 2013 10:16 am

Floyd fans have a selective memory in a poor attempt to have a leg to stand on in this debate. GB and TR did business up until GB started working with Floyd the way they currently do and it was Floyd who refused to do fights with TR so GB had to go along in order to do business with him. Konz has already said Pac isn’t tied to any network so the fight can be made. And it was Manny who conquered ww beating the better wws not Floyd I’m tired of listing them. When you watch the difference in Floyd fights between lefties and righties it’s painfully odvious the threat Pac is to Floyd so Floyd fans can live in their bubble as long as Floyd avoids Pac but let’s be clear he is avoiding Pac with every resource available.

I stand to be corrected but you can aldo put Cotto into the soup as his also on a fight to fight agreement likeJMM, Provodnikov,

Posted October 30, 2013 9:33 am

The Cold War between Top Rank/HBO & GBP/SHOWTIME/ MAYWEATHER PROMOTIONS is harming boxing than promoting it. Rigo spanked Nonito but all we ever hear is nonsense coming from Arum, you wonder what HBO really wants cause it sure as hell not what boxing fans want. Pac vs May will never happen. After PAC whips BUM BUM expect more cheap marketing for Pac vs May and only for Arum to match him again vs inhouse boxers in Bradley, Marquez, Alvarado & Provodnikov, forget about MAYWEATHER even if they did it would be more like RJJ vs Hopkins 2 ( best forgotten)

Posted October 30, 2013 9:29 am

REM – time to stay away from the drugs and take a look at the picture. The old man who put Pac on a nap got spanked 12-0 by Mayweather coming off a two year voluntary lay off.

Pacquiaos a terrific fighter historically, his attributes overwhelmed a lot of serious competitors and he’s an ATG in my book…Children on ESB ignorant of the promotional Cold War between Golden Boy and Top Rank pretend this fight can just be made, but the adults realize the politics are too severe when you add in the Showtime vs HBO component… Pacquiao is a dangerous fighter when on his game, but he presents little danger to Floyd Mayweather who’s defense and ring smarts have so greatly limited his ring damage it’s worthy of a standing ovation… Terms like “angles, volume, Workrate etc” are all aspects of a bout he has PROVEN he can control in his competitor….Marquez limits Pacs output, and frankly Manny has started looking for the big shot more over the past several fights…NO FIGHTER is gonna throw 900 punches at even this version of Floyd Mayweather and not get ripped to shreds… Pacquiao is NOT gonna stop Floyd and his boxing is just inferior (Sad but True) Mayweather would not get full cred boxing this version of Manny silly post Marquez, but it would be nice to end all this goofy chatter… Floyd conquered a division that Manny never really competed in meanwhile Mannys getting an 8th grade test facing Brandon Rios… Can you imagine the grief Floyd would get facing Rios off a loss? I wish PAC Man well he’s a warrior and his bouts have been exciting win or lose but he’s just NOT in Floyd Mayweathers league as a fighter, his aggression makes for Great theatre during a fight but he’s jail bait for a counterpuncher of Floyd’s caliber !!

Posted October 30, 2013 9:06 am

Na Floyd doesn’t fear Pac he just fears his speed, power and angles out of the ssouthpaw stance.

Posted October 30, 2013 8:04 am

lol no form of Pacquiao beats Mayweather. Its a bad style matchup for Manny and really not a fight want to see at this point

Hopkins is too big, too old, too boring, and too greedy. Packy might have beaten May a few years ago but we should stop living in the past. It would seem that GGG would be the more valid choice here.

You can wish a you want and say ” mayweather would have beat PAC if they fought ” but he never did and you can dream all you want

So basically Vivek is trying to tell he that we should ask for PAC to fight those bigger guys because is not fair to mayweather.

Posted October 30, 2013 6:07 am

Hahahahahaha here we go again … Vitaly = Vivek is so nervous for his hero mayweather taking the fight that he had to put PAC again in too the discussion to fight Hopkins ggg and Martinez lol until recently he said PAC was done and don’t deserve the shot with mayweather …
Come on you can do better then this

Nightmare? Id doubt that Floyd will b losing sleep over Manny.

Posted October 30, 2013 4:27 am

For starters Rios is a bum, just like Margocheato he blocks punches with his face. The only person I see Rios beating is just the mereKhan between 140 & 147lbs top fighters. Old Coot you talking outta ass for thinking Floyd fears what you deem to be Pacquaio’s attributes. You can’t get careless with a master boxer, period. This Floyd has improved his D and is lighter on his feet. That my friend spells disaster for a defenceless brawler like Pacquiao. If you still crave Mayweather vs Pacquaio good for you, but we have seen the light, that won’t be a compelling fight. It would be one sided beat down of Manny.

Posted October 30, 2013 4:21 am

Sorry but beating #0 P4P NON CHAMPS does not make you a nightmare for Floyd. GOOD try though.

Old coot- ha ha so u pretty much couldnt deny what i said, so u pick grammer….well good 4 u. I left out floyd has had more time at the no.1 pnd 4 pnd spot and top 10 in there careers…u haterz dont no what u want? Mayweather is currently 2 weight classes above Manny. Make ur mind up, do u want Floyd 2 step up 2 160 which is 3 weight classes or back down 2 jr welter 2 face manny? Garcia will end Manny if Arum lets that happen.

Posted October 30, 2013 1:42 am

Mayweather has all the skills and genius to beat Pacquiao; however, their two styles definitely promise an exciting fight. The all-time great boxer versus the all-time great fighter — almost like a nemesis type of challenge that has always been a classic plot in the storyline of boxing matches. Even now or next year, this fight would sell at least 2 million PPV in the U.S. — not counting the other countries.

if floyd is so sure beating paquiao? why did he back out of the fight then? maywether has every chance to make the paquiao fight happen but he didnt. That show u how scared floyd mayweather is to paquiao.

Rios couldn’t get past Alvarado who just got KTFO by Pacnap’s sparring partner, wtf is he gonna do besides taking his lumps and get paid?

Posted October 29, 2013 11:55 pm

DAMN! Pac sleeping on the job again. LMFAO! picture worth a thousand words.

Posted October 29, 2013 11:51 pm

Pactards are back in full effect and it doesn’t take much to sell them a ticket just as long as Manny is fighting they couldn’t care less who his fighting. Floyd is the cherrypicker yet Manny is the one who faught Hutton, Mosley, ODH & Marquez after May beat them up along with a host of Top Rank meatbag who had no defense and just came at you in Clottey & a diluted Margarito now his facing another one in Rios whose a mini Margo, what do you think is gonna happen? Pfft, stupid Pactards.

Posted October 29, 2013 11:30 pm

Only way for Pac to sell tickets is to associate him with Mayweather even though it’s very clear they’re not on the same level. Floyd is an undefeated two division champion with multiple belts whose just beaten up a young, strong bull in Alvarez who outweighed him by 15lbs and is expected to take on bigger MW in Maravilla, GGG to test himself at 37yrs old cause younger WWs don’t even pose a threat. Pac on the other hand just got KTFO by a 40yr old Dinamita, has no belts, and is busy fightingnanother taylomade Top Rank face first defenseless plodder coming off a loss to a man who just got KTFO by his sparring partner and got a gift decision from Abril who was a LW just last year.

Mayweather would counter-punch Pacquiao TO DEATH!!!! Enda story. I don’t even know why this article was written.

Posted October 29, 2013 11:08 pm

LMFAO. PEDcquiao is fighting Rios, coming off a loss, and if he geats him he’ll PEDcquiao is a threat to Mayweather. Since when did Rios become better than Mayweather? Pactards is as stupid does.

Posted October 29, 2013 10:53 pm

I just don’t see Manny beating Mayweather even if he beats Rios. Many is on a downhill slide. AT one time I thought he had a real chance against Mayweather but he doesn’t throw the punches that he used to and despite what a lot of people thought I had Bradley and Pac scored a draw. The rounds were very hard to score because there were a lot of close rounds. Maywether beats Pac easier and more convincing.

Posted October 29, 2013 10:24 pm

This fight is no different then others…Mayweather really boxes him early then stays in the pocket. Is Pac a defesive master? His best defense is his offense and he would be hitting air (gets countered), which if u ever laced up gloves knows is more tiring hitting air than hitting something. May by UD. Prime Pac or not.

Hopkins is nuts for calling out FM. It was bad enough when WW had to go up to 170, but meeting FM at 160 is ridiculous. I’m a long time BH fan, but this is bs. If he wants a real challenge, he can fight Ward at 168 or Stevenson. Otherwise he needs to keep quiet.

Pacquiao could look like he never lost a step against Rios, but Rios is 180 degrees from Mayweather. If Maywaether becomes a stationary fighter overnight then Pacquiao will have a shot at beating him. Until then, not a chance. Besides Arum just said he already has several options for Pacquiao, none of them have to do with Mayweather…

Posted October 29, 2013 9:01 pm

Obviously you don’t understand the business side. You say he ducked Margacheato but he was promoted by Top Rank. They made an offer and Floud fought Baldomier because there was more money in it. Not to mention he was the Lineal Champion. That is when Floyd became the welterweight Champion. Then he fought Zab because it is what the fans wanted. Margacheato also lost to Williams. Williams lost to the Puerto Rican dude. He never ducked Mosley. He tried to fight him at 135 and Mosley chose to move up and fight Oscar. Whom also turned down Fliyd. Nobody wanted to see a fight with him and Clottey. Clottey could never win the big fights. Plus no money in it. I’m not conned by anyone. I go by what I see and what the facts show

Posted October 29, 2013 9:00 pm

Old Coot

@ Peej: And nobody including Floyd had a clue if Margarito was cheating then… Yet Floyd still ducked him… So you can scratch that excuse like all the ones for not fighting pacman. LOL!!

Posted October 29, 2013 8:53 pm

Old Coot

@Peej: HAAH!! Floyd avoided Mosley for TEN YEARS… Then faked the first retirement to avoid Cotto, Williams (who was right at WW, and was so overrated Floyd avoided him) as well as Clottey and Margarito… Then Floyd faked the second retirement to avoid rematches with Oscar, and Hatton… Then when he came back he could have waited just 3 days to sign with Pacman, but who did he sign with instead? Marquez, who he forced to gain ten lbs of muscle for his first fight at WW, just to slow him down… Then Floyd himself breeched their contract and came in over weight his damned self!

Floyd got ya’ll conned so good!!

Posted October 29, 2013 8:52 pm

There is no precheated Margacheato. Notice he couldn’t KO anybody after getting caught. Arum said Cotto wasn’t ready for Cotto so you are wrong their and Williams couldn’t stay at a weight class long enough. Not to mention he was overrated. Floyd also called out both Moët and Oscar in their primes and they both declined to fight him

You’re a funny dude Largo!!

Posted October 29, 2013 8:36 pm

Well Floyd the conman, may have done it again… He completely ducked unbeaten, prime versions of Cotto, Williams, Margarito (pre-cheat), and Clottey… And he waited good until Cotto and Mosley were beaten and past their primes… And now he may have done it with Pacquiao… Congrats Floyd… You are undefeated by diversion. Both inside the ring and outside too. LOL!!

Posted October 29, 2013 8:33 pm

@ Ray Ray: You man, it’s ‘TITLE’, not “tittle”… LOL!! And Floyd STILL has nightmares and pisses his Huggies, from the mere THOUGHT of fighting Killer Pacman!

The Pacquiao that fought Oscar is LONG GONE, replaced by the Pacquiao of TODAY that embraces Random drug testing…

Posted October 29, 2013 8:27 pm

I doubt that but even if you could it is the punches you don’t see coming. Floyd would tag Pac with punches he didn’t see. Those are the ones that hurt. And now that Pac chin is shattered it may be easier. Heck what does it matter, I don’t think he gets past Rios. And again what difference does it make? Arum isn’t gonna let Pac any where near Floyd.

Posted October 29, 2013 8:18 pm

Early prediction: Floyd by TKO in the later rounds…

Posted October 29, 2013 8:11 pm

The Pac that fought Oscar was a formidable opponent for Floyd but you’re dreaming if you think that this Manny has a chance in hell against the a lot better preserved Jr…don’t forget that and old Shane pretty much nullified Pac’s offense with ease and I think Floyd can do the same but MUCH better. Even if Pac looks like a killer against Rios, he has zero chance against Floyd; Pac’s a much diminished fighter.

Posted October 29, 2013 8:08 pm

The fact that Rios is coming up from 140 to 147 is totally irrelevant just like Rosado being a former 154 fighting Quillin; Rios is bigger than Pac, like Rosado was bigger than Quillin, so please, stop the irrelevant stuff…

Posted October 29, 2013 7:56 pm

Your only as good as your last fight so cant really say whether Pac can still be competative against Floyd at this stage, still having said that I dont think you will find anyone either in sparring or who Manny has fought who will tell you he was not as tough as they thought he would be..

Floyds faced more former champs, had more tittle fights….both even with 4 linear losses…theres not really an argument. Floyd faced 19 former champs manny 16. Mayweather 25 tittle fights manny 19….if im wrong it would only b by very little…..make ur own minds up, the stats dont lie.

Posted October 29, 2013 7:24 pm

Let’s get this straight. Beating Rios is on par with beating Canelo?? This is a non title fight against a guy coming up in weight and only Pac’s name is the selling point. Until we see him beat a well rounded boxer I just don’t see the selling point for a Floyd fight. I get riding or dying as a fan but lets be real.

I’m not claiming Garcias better than PAC, just pointing out that Garcias younger, and he’s not coming off the MOST brutal KO loss of his career… It’s premature to start the whole “Mannys the guy to beat Floyd”argument….I know some are anxious to expunge that KO loss and the 3rd Marquez bout from Pacs record and transport him back till the day after he bashed Cotto but that’s not gonna happen…The Pacquaio of today is a guy who has NOT stopped another fighter in YEARS and has shown a clear pattern of susceptibility to counter punching..As hard as it is for me to say Floyd’s 3x the fighter Marquez is and JMM Is GREAT.. The STARK difference in the way they handled this common opponent cannot be overlooked especially when we see how effective JMM was chasing and finally damn near killing PAC after almost a decade…If this bout was possible (promotional issues aside) I would be all for it provided PAC knocks off Rios….I think it would be a scary mismatch in favor of the longer, sharper more disciplined Mayweather… Once he dials I’m the jab it’s OVER for Pacquiao who would end up looking like a better version of Ricky Hatton against Floyd…If Pacs the man he will destroy Rios in short order and begin making his case…

Posted October 29, 2013 6:34 pm

I believe Floyd can beat Pac easy due to Pacquiao’s size, the issues he has against pure boxers and because even though Floyd doesn’t have a one punch KO power, he can hurt his opponent. Pac gets hit a lot and against Floyd he’s going to get hit repeatedly. I can’t really see any advantage Pac will have over Floyd.

Having said that, unless they decide to get it on, we’ll never know for sure. A win over Rios doesn’t translate into a “he can beat Floyd for sure” fact. Fact is that Rios is coming up from 140 and he’s not even close to Floyd’s level. Does anyone here believe that Rios would have a chance to beat Mayweather if they were to fight each other? I would think not. However, I’m sure some of you believe Rios has a chance against Pac.

Many people believe Floyd is just waiting for Pac to get older, but that means that Floyd will be older as well…that’s why I don’t believe that rational. However, I do believe a few years back Floyd did have enough respect for Pac to make the drug testing an issue, but I don’t believe that continues to be the case nowadays. Perhaps Floyd may change his mind and chose Pac as his future opponent, but until he does, it’ll always be a guess of who will the winner is for sure.

Floyd can hurt Pac. Marquez hurt him in every fight. Floyd is faster than Marquez and will hit him with a punch he doesn’t see and can be hurt

One of this writers passages said, quote- “Maybe he (Pacquiao) was never a tactical fighter with great precision, but that’s because he simply never needed that set of attributes.”

EXACTLY!!! And I said something very similar right here on ESB, like 3 or 4 years ago. And I also said that those attributes are what Floyd fears most… That he likely can’t hurt Pacquiao, which also means he won’t be able to keep Pacquiao with his super quick foot-speed, aggressive agility, and his 80 to 100 punches (sometimes more) per round, OFF him… Not to mention those relatively few that land would be mostly POWER shots, coming fast, hard, and from either fist at weird angles. Something Floyd is definitely NOT accustomed to…

Even Floyd knows that although his defensive skill would lower Pacquiao’s output to 70 or 80 shots, he also knows that even he can’t defend against getting hit hard, like 20 to 25 or more, times per round! And Manny won’t get tired either.

What’s more… I think Floyd STILL fears this unique ability… Even after Manny got KO’d!

Problem is Floyd would give Pac angles and move on him. Floyd doesn’t need to stay in the pocket to win. Did you see him stay in the pocket when he fought the very offensive minded Corrales? Nope, he moved on him and TKOd him. He would do the same to Pac. Offensive fighters get eaten up for dinner when going against Floyd. Too bad that they ran the other way instead of taking the random drug test he is so willing to take now.

You guys are seriously claiming Garcia is better than Pac at any point in his career. Garcia telegraphs like a turn of the century railroad correspondent. Pac will get hit but he has a better chance of returning fire. Pac would have to be hog tied & blind folded before lil floyd thinks about planting his feet to even attempt a big shot & it will take a couple attempts at that. No way lil floyd stays in the pocket like Marquez to land that monster shot. On his toes or back foot with NO mustard on the punches if lil floyd ever gets in with Pac.

Posted October 29, 2013 4:39 pm

That’s what I’ve been saying. Little Floyd is afraid of a 147 lb Phillipino, who got knocked out in his last fight. hahahahahahahaha

And Pac would eat just as many if not more punches as Garcia would. Pac has no defense. He is strictly offense.

Posted October 29, 2013 4:21 pm

Dr Phil, Garcias NOT the one who got knocked out by 39 year old Marquez, peeps are seriously wondering if Pacs the same after that type of head trauma (we will see) You discuss Garcias wide hooks, Pacs also a WILD MAN that’s how he got blasted… Everyone bangs up Manny but most times his chin keeps him afloat while he chops the wood, if that chins dented he’s DONE because the mans an offensive fighter who likes to exchange..

Posted October 29, 2013 4:19 pm

Soooooooo let me get this straight all Manny has to do in order to climb the mountain is defeat Rios coming up from 140 off a loss to Alvarado, and while Manny was collecting his brains off the floor, Mayweather just Unifed the 154 pound division against Undefeated Canelo Alvarez…My My aren’t we setting the bar LOW for PAC Man to rent serious space in the heads of boxing fans that were demanding that bout..What would the odds look like if Floyd was facing Brandon Rios??? 15-1??? I would love to see PAC and Floyd but unless Mannys ready to go independent and leave TR that has no chance of happening…If PAC wants public demand to hit a crescendo he’s gonna have to do more than beat Rios, he better lay him out along with a solid WW opponent…

Posted October 29, 2013 4:16 pm

Average speed, wide swinging Garcia instead of Pac is a nuthuggers wet dream for lil floyd. These lame ‘fans’ love watching a sparring match. Garcia will get nailed after every wide, slow punch he throws against lil floyd. Pac can match speed & double the power of lil floyd. Garcia can double the power of lil floyd but he is slower than Canelo & eats twice as many punches. Garcia vs. Guerrero is closer to an even match.

A prime Pacman beats a prime Mayweather at super feather/lightweight. Manny was fighter of the decade. Even now he would still give Floyd a tricky fight. Manny tore through Hatton, Cotto, Oscar, Margarito, Mosley and Clottey at 140-147. He cleaned out the guys Floyd didn’t face and beat the ones that Floyd had victories over in a more impressive manner. Floyd is a great boxer. Manny was/is a great, exciting FIGHTER!

Right on, Vitali, at least that’s a popular perception. It’s a faulty one though. I mean, you won’t see the Klitschkos clamoring for a fight with Floyd, nor will Stevenson, or Donaire, or John.

Actually, I think certain young champions and top contenders would do well to steer clear of Floyd for as long as they can. Yeah, I know they’d be passing up a potentially huge payday, but Floyd might put a blemish on their records that will hurt them for a long time. I mean look at Floyd himself–it’s very important to him that he maintain his no-loss record. Why shouldn’t it be valid for any boxer to want to keep his “0”? Why should he have to fight Floyd to prove himself?

Like Danny Garcia for instance. He’s a fine young champion who is presently undefeated and who is in the process of establishing an outstanding legacy for himself. A lot of people want to see him fight Floyd. But he doesn’t need to. Even with the big purse that he could earn by fighting Floyd, I would think it would be more important to him to maintain his undefeated record than to go down in history as a “yeah, but he lost to Mayweather” fighter. Danny just beat one of the most feared fighters in his division, but he has to fight Floyd to prove himself? Makes no sense to me.

But money talks and it talks loudly and has a lot of power. Some boxers don’t mind if they lose because they get the big payday. A lot of boxing fans, pundits, and even some experts say anyone that has potential to get a fight with Floyd should take it because of the huge payday and that they may never get the chance again.

I disagree. But I’m just one opinion.

mr. b

I hope this fight will be made Floyd fighting middel weights is simply not fair he is a welter weight after all. And look what happen to Oscar d.l.h. at middelweight and he was bigger than mayweather.

Shut the fook up PEEBRAIN.

Posted October 29, 2013 3:04 pm

Public Enemy, the difference is that Pac got put to sleep for several minutes. The fighters you named where knocked out but not put to sleep. Pac was put to sleep and that there can have a long lasting effect on your career. Just look at Roy Jones for example.

Posted October 29, 2013 3:01 pm

The fact is the pair have missed out on millions for a match against each other

Posted October 29, 2013 2:59 pm

Ok. I don’t agree he is the riskiest fight for Floyd. I think he would toy with Pac but that is just my opinion. And you know the saying about opinions. lol

Posted October 29, 2013 2:58 pm

Public Enemy

You slam a Cadillac into a Rolls Royce at the right angle and that Rolls Royce will be a heap of junk.. Mosely put Mayweather on noodle legs.. Cotto Bloodied up Mayweather and left him bruised.. it’s not like Mayweather hasn’t been touched in the Ring..

Posted October 29, 2013 2:53 pm

Public Enemy

When Paquiao beats Rios into submission Paq detractors will say Rios was a bum and C level fighter.. it’s the same old sht.. bottomline is Boxing needs a Paquiao vs Mayweather fight to see which of the two wins.. period.. we definitely don’t need a Hopkins vs Mayweather non-fight.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:51 pm

Saying Manny is on the same level is floyd is like comparing a cadillac to a Rolls Royce, Mannys last three fights looked average certainly not the wrecking ball he once was people are reaching on this one, Thismega fight certainly lost all the lust that it had back in the days. Thanks to Arum not wanting to loose his golden goose. Alverez was a bigger treat than Pac, who counldnt knock out a tim bradley or marquez. Who lost every round when he fought MW. Manny is a juiced up has been, He was never a k.o, artist until he got on P.E.D.S still thus day he wont take a blood test is he did Floyd would be 46-0 right now and Roach knows it,

Posted October 29, 2013 2:51 pm

Public Enemy

Anyone can get KnockedafkoutCold, ask Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Roy Jones, Eric Morales, etc etc.. if the right shot lands you’re going to sleep.. so just because Paquiao got caught this one time in the many times he’s been in the ring means nothing if he comes back and proves he still has it.. Paquiao was easily beating marquez up until the lucky shot landed. Sht happens it’s boxing..

Posted October 29, 2013 2:48 pm

PEEJ: I understand what you are saying. AND I agree. But everyone is someone’s leftover. Some just look at it as a challenge and a fight. Others look at is as a non-worthy opponent. Marquez when facing Floyd, was also Pacquiao’s leftover. This is a very hostile website, and its unfortunate, because there are a lot of very knowledgeable people communicating like teen imbeciles. Look, Manny lost. Yes. Got knocked out. Yes. Mayweather is a phenomenal unbeaten champion. IMHO he would do bat Manny 5/5 times, nevertheless he is the riskiest fight out there for Floyd, even now.

ANYONE KNOW THE CONDITION of JOSE SULAIMAN after his bypass heart surgery? I heard he was convalescing.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:37 pm

So basically Tella you are saying Manny is gonna try and do what Floyd has done. Beat people first and then let Manny fight them but in reverse? lol

Posted October 29, 2013 2:34 pm

Pacquiao is Ducking Bradley and Ruslan, you are right. Wasting time here. There are (seasoned) boxing fans, and there are persona fanatics. You are a fanatic with one-dimensional knowledge.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:32 pm

Pacquiao is Ducking Bradley and Ruslan

@Tella- As Maywether has always stated that is assumes him-self to be GOAT- His whole contention is based upon the fact that he has never been defeated. If he took a loss, especially a devastating knock loss, like the one so beautifully and dramatically illustrated for you at the beginning of this article, “hell yeah” his career would be in ruins.

A loss to a fighter who is supposed to be invincible like a Tyson, Pacquiao, and even Maywether should he be knocked out and or even losses that “0” ruins careers and legacies.. Winning is what levels of greatness is dependent upon. Not how good you did prior to being knock out.

When speaking of career ruining events please see the picture associated with this article for reference.

And again you are now free to leave the discussion at anytime to avoid further embarrassment.

Pac has always been made to order for Mayweather – Styles make fights

Posted October 29, 2013 2:27 pm

Also, I think you guys have it either mixed up or the message was not clearly delivered in the article. I think the writer did not intend on saying that Manny will fight floyd, but instead that Manny will fight all of the other competition, leaving Floyd something that he hates fighting, leftover.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:24 pm

If Successful against Rios? Please don’t insult the legendary Manny Pacquiao with those badly chosen words. Try starting off “When Manny Pacquiao destroys Brandon Rios”, Mayweather’s worst nightmare will continue. Floyd Mayweather knows full well that he had his chance to fight Manny Pacquiao on HIS terms when Manny went on ESPN’s First Take and basically said I’ll agree to all your requests, lets just fight. Nothing more needs to be said. Floyd balked and his true fear showed. This fight wasn’t and isn’t about money. It’s not about testing. It’s about what the fans want, and Manny Pacquiao put it out there to set the fight up regardless if it was a bit past it’s prime, but the challenge was out there for Floyd to take. As usual, he gave his laughable excuses to the world. I can imagine the level of fear in Floyd will only increase once the living legend destroys the tough Brandon Rios. True boxing fans know that this will be a very tough fight for Manny Pacquiao. he has been off a long time, and Rios cannot be underestimated in the least. He’s hungry to put his name on top of the boxing world. Fame and fortune and prestige awaits him should he be able to the impossible. Manny Pacquiao now has his chance at redemption. Once again, he will throw caution to the wind, and take on one of boxings toughest fighters. Manny Pacquiao doesn’t hand pick his opponents like Floyd Mayweather. He doesn’t run from fear like Floyd Mayweather. He doesn’t make excuses as to why he won’t fight another fighter. This man is a truly courageous, fearless, explosive once in a life time fighter. IMO, Manny Pacquiao will defeat Rios and then take on another great fighter in GGG or Andre Ward. Manny’s potential cannot ever be discounted. His speed, power, and desire to win is unmatched. This is the most popular and loved fighter in boxing history for a reason. He brings it each and every time. Fans do not boo or walk out of his fights like they do Floyd Mayweather fights. Juan Manuel Marquez, better known as Ped Man was asked by reporters who wast faster Floyd or Manny. Answer, Manny Pacquiao. He was then asked who hits harder, answer, Manny Pacquiao. This from a man that fought them both. Manny Pacquiao has a style that will confuse and dismantle Floyd all night. I think it would end by KO around the 10th or 11th round. Unfortunately, we will never get a chance to see this fight because of Floyd Mayweather. His boxing peers have called Floyd out many times. Yes, the true past boxing champions, Holmes, Hagler, Duran, Tyson, Calzaghe as well as other great athletes have asked Floyd the same question. Why don’t you fight Manny Pacquiao? Floyd continues to have no answer. We all know why. Floyd knows he will lose the legend that is Manny Pac Man Pacquiao. Everyone stay tuned for the historic return of the boxing ring legend, Manny Pacquiao. PPV numbers will sky rocket because Manny Pacquiao is the world’s most popular athlete, which has been proven many times over.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:23 pm

Pacquiao is Ducking Bradley and Ruslan: 10 minute or a 1 minute nap, no matter. He was knocked out. Let me ask you something, me actually being a Mayweather Jr. fan rather than a Pacquiao fan, if Floyd loses via a KO, would you also label his career ruined?

Bradley fight was, well, a mess. Manny took a loss on record, but as far as the fans go, his loss was not all that obvious… Be realistic, don’t be a fact fanatic. Facts are absolute, true, but sometimes, they are simply artificial.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:22 pm

THIS IS ALL CR*P… ROB’em ARUM has already laid out plans for 2014 depending on who wins and loses in MACAU for PAC, BAM BAM and DESERT STORM and at no point was FLOYD MAYWEATHER’s name mentioned.

When are the scribes here going to actually write about real stories and not invent pipe dreams?

The only time these guys will mix it up is when ARUM croaks and last time I checked Rob’em was in his ivory tower counting his 100 dollar bills!!!!

Pacquiao is Ducking Bradley and Ruslan

@Tella– For the purposes of this conversation we are referring to: Pac and Maywether. Of the two only one has no losses, and only one has back to back defeats punctuated by a ten minute power nap in the ring, and a 48 hour stay in a Las Vegas Hospital for extensive Neuro Testing.

Proof being provided above– One of the two has a career in ruins. You and the readers may be the judge, of which fight I am speaking of.

Thank you for the opportunity to make you and your comment irrelevant, by the use of commonly known facts. Tella please exit the site now and have a great day.

2011 called, it wants it’s article back. Why are there so many of you “writers” on here who only have opinions when it comes to two active boxers. The time for Manny-Floyd came and went and you know what? Even if people WERE still calling for it, it wouldn’t happen. Have you seen any other Top Rank-Golden Boy collaborations? or even talk of any? No, because they are two organisations that don’t do business together and even if they did, they’ve now split into 2 TV network camps as well. It’s pretty obvious to anyone listening to their promoters who Manny’s next opponent will be and Mayweather’s next 2. If you don’t know this then it’s fair to say you don’t know boxing. Maybe in 2014 you can write an article about this Alvarez kid and how he’s the next big thing.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:14 pm

Let’s not get crazy here. Manny at his peak or even after the Rois fight would not have given Mayweather any problems. I still believe that these two will fight towards the end of Mayweather’s showtime contract and the PPV numbers will still be there because many of you misfits believe that Pac power is the great equalizer. Shame on you guys, lol!!!

Posted October 29, 2013 2:13 pm

Can’t live down getting ktfo by Marquez though. “Plowing” thru Rios won’t make up for that. Don’t know if anything can.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:10 pm

The Manny at his peak when he was Koing the best at and above his weight would have beaten Mayweather. Manny today? Is not the same fighter and would lose to Floyd. Sadly.

Pacquiao is Ducking Bradley and Ruslan

Wow they allowed Jeniki to write articles on this site under the pseudonym of Vitali Shaposhnikov. Her faith in her husband is to be expected, but I thought this was supposed to be an objective fact based boxing site.

Pacquiao has so much unfinished business that he should not and hopefully will not Jump the line of worthy opponents to get a shot at Maywether.

Pac still needs to redeem himself from his loss to Bradley- I also do not think that Pac will- let me see how Jenki put it, and I qoute from this stupid ass article: “what happens when Pacquiao plows through Rios, beating him decisively, aggressively, and most importantly impressing the boxing community once again?”

Jenki/ Vitali is obviously fantasizing about all of the shopping trips she will be able to go on, when her cuckolded champion brings that check home and hand it along with his balls to her, as part of their agreement for her not to divorce him.

Pac needs to clean up his ruined career and get past rios, bradley and ruslan, before his name should even be mentioned in the same breath as Maywether.

Posted October 29, 2013 2:04 pm

You are right. Little Floyd will never fight Pacquiao for the reason I posted earlier.

Posted October 29, 2013 1:57 pm

Prof Konje

Pacquaio? He has unfinished business with Bradley, but he must get past Rios first and it won’t be easy. Floyd Mayweather has always been out of Pacquaio’s league and this is especially true now. Quite honestly, if the two had fought it should have been years ago. Is there still an interest in the fight now?

Posted October 29, 2013 1:56 pm

Lets see if pac gets past rios before we start talking about pac vs may. Pac may get stopped by rios!

Posted October 29, 2013 1:55 pm

Pac will never become Floyds worst nightmare because he will never get the fight. After taking loses his last 2 fights he has now not earned the right to fight Floyd. As for GGG nobody at 154 is ducking him including Floyd who is a 147 pound fighter. GGG fights at 160, he has never made 154 nor is he ranked at 154 so nobody at 154 is ducking him. Lets see how he does against Stevens.

Posted October 29, 2013 1:53 pm

So what young Vitali Shaposhnikov is saying is that a natural 140 lb fighter should fight light heavyweight king and the greatest fighter of his generation Bernard Hopkins. And if Hopkins won’t fight, Pacquiao should go after the most feared fighter in boxing right now, middleweight king Gennardy Golovkin who Floyd and everybody else in boxing is avoiding like the plague cause they won’t beat the dude.

Let’s all imagine that B-hop won’t fight the former flyweight champ and GGG fights Ward or Froch instead. Who does Vitali want the Philippine idol to fight, Sergio Martinez :), the other middleweight king who has dominated the division the last 5 years. Never mind that these guys are 3 to 5 weight classes bigger than Manny.

What is this guy smoking?

Posted October 29, 2013 1:49 pm

Little Floyd is not going to fight Pacquiao. Little Floyd is not going to take the chance in fighting someone who has just as much speed and ring experience as LF has. LF’s minion have all kinds of excuses, but at the end of the day, LF doesn’t have the stones to fight Pacquiao.

Posted October 29, 2013 1:48 pm

te tumbo

Pacquiao* never figured to be anything more than a speed bump for Mayweather. an anti-climactic mismatch in Floyd’s favor all along. makes you wonder who is instructing Shaposhnikov to hype otherwise?
