This will be like Hasim Rahman trying to fight Alexander Povetkin., Only this time there’s 2 guys who are in sad shape.

Williams could say… “Just stand me up and point me in the right direction when the bell rings.. Let me know when he gets close to me so I can swing.. since I’ll probably be out on my feet the first time he hits me.. You’ll have to cup your hands and scream at me. I’ll be listening. If I go down on my back and keep swinging at shadows don’t be alarmed. I do that in a lot of my fights these days. I’m not just a shot fighter any more. I’m a destroyed fighter.

Of course Maakaev is so old we might just stand there and look at each other for 12 rounds — and paw at each others gloves once in a while. That would be good. I’ll have to talk to Oleg before the fight.”

Williams was ruined by Vitaly.

The winner of this vs. the winner of Rahman-Holyfield 2 for the WBC early-onset-dementia world title.

Paddy O’Trenchant

Is either fighter still capable of reasoning?

Wilder wants the winner really bad to show him who the real boss is

winning means everything you prat!!

Mr Gav

I always enjoyed watching danny but his retirement should have come a long time ago. But neither fighter has nothing left so a win can only set up to get smashednup by some young pup

Chisora fights one of em for the Euro title. The loser gets Wilder or David Price!

EZ E there’s some sicko rich people in Russia, always has been. Tony G the poker player went there last year and was playing high stakes cash games. Said the swings would be $2-3 million in an hour. That said, they’ll have to drink a lot of vodka to make this card worth watching.

Who would actually PAY to see this?? Is the economy THAT good in Russia?? I’d love to see the way they’d hype this one into a profitable promotional success. Oh well… peace!

Wow – Danny Williams has beaten more HOF fighters than both Klitschkos combined.

dwc & Cognitor – It’s unfortunate but the very first two people I thought of upon reading the title of this article were Wilder & Slater

The first thing that came to my mind has already been brought up by half the bloggers here. This is a set up fight to find another has been for Wilder. After Wilder KO’s the winner of this match, they’ll be promoting Wilder as Sonny Liston reincarnated.

Danny Williams was a beast on his day. I just wish he’d hang them up while he’s still got something upstairs and help[ the next generation.
If anyone watched him beat Tyson, they were determined to give that fight to Tyson, taking points off Williams for nothing and then Williams let go.
That was the fight of his life and whatever he’s done since that night, that night will always be remembered.
It wasn’t a McBride win, it was a fighter taking Tyson’s best and refusing to quit
Pack in Danny Boy, you’ve nothing left to prove and have been in with the best and done yourself proud!

Slater’s use of nick names for this particular match up makes this a must see match up

Brazilian Boxing Fan, lol – We are reading each other’s mind and also Wilders lol.

Very scary – The Big O vs the Brixton Bomber – Sure Wilder is pushing to fight the winner of this heavyweight shoot out

I agree, Hosteen.

Posted October 25, 2013 3:15 pm

This sounds exactly like the type of match up that I am confident that Wilder and his team would love to face the winner
