when his head was pushed down he should have been throwing bombs…..Posted October 26, 2013 1:18 am
Blame others, this just shows how simple minded Povetkin really is.And his man in charge was to stupid to not let other people use his training camp as a test lab.Really this sounds like excuse making overall.Posted October 22, 2013 1:33 pm
Hey ; BORIS / KOSTYA , We don’t know that for sure , but we DO
Zimin should consider that perhaps the Americans are not the problem, but him. He couldn’t improve Valuev, he can’t improve Povetkin. At this point, Povetkin is what he is and he can change trainers 3 more times, it won’t change anything.Posted October 22, 2013 10:52 am
povotkin has motivation problems and is limited.he does have heart and is tough and sometimes tough is enough.the referee was a lame and should stick to his day job.i’ll be happy when the klitchko’s retire.say what you want about americans, but even wlad trains with kronk.povotkin needs to grow a pair and fire his whole team.Posted October 22, 2013 10:48 am
only wlad”s retard fans would want to see that sh#t again.Posted October 22, 2013 9:12 am
povetkin made a serious mistake when he went to “big mouth” Atlas, he was never the same after that.Posted October 22, 2013 5:04 am
Did they tell him not to use any angles or throw to the body?Posted October 22, 2013 2:02 am
He needs Tim Witherspoon because he said wlad has no defence skills so he is easy to hit …lol maybe Tim has the formula (ahem )Posted October 22, 2013 12:11 am
Uh-oh. Looks like you drew France. No world cup for you. Merde.
Vive la France.Posted October 21, 2013 9:57 pm
Zimin should be fired if this is true. If these guys came in and completely messed up why didnt he fire these so called specialists, it reflects poorly on the man in charge when he doesnt manage his own camp. If these exercises were so detrimental why didnt he put his foot down.
Also, its tough for me to believe that 3 weeks is enough time to ruin a training camp especially since the last week or 2 were probably slowed in pace, not like he was struggling to make weight
further more he lost because they had no plan, no advice in the corner, no single protest to the ref during the fight, what if in round 2 or 3 Zimin got on the refs case.
Fact is Povetkin was content to be clinched as he made no effort to wrestle out of the clinches or get rough and dirty in the clinches to fight fire with fire. And most of all the sure sign of Povetkins surrender in the rind was not throwing the free hand. Wlad is giving up his height when he clinches and he isnt throwing a single punch when Wlad is most open, Wlad reached to grab and Alexander never threw punches
Alexander Povetkin fought and awful fight and is equal to blame for the boring dull fight that occured. also at 34 or whaever he is not young with a bright future. He just got smacked around in a terrible fight and young guys are moving up the ladder. Whose Povetkin fought and whose he beat lately that suggests his career has really improved that much?Posted October 21, 2013 7:08 pm
raise your hand if you wanna see that fight again. LOL.Posted October 21, 2013 7:04 pm
“Maybe, if Povetkin gets another shot at Wladimir, he will enter the ring with a different, more successful plan in mind.” – There’s nothing Povetkin can do differently and the US trainers had nothing to do with his wide loss. Fact is Wlad’s simply more talented, bigger, stronger, and better in every way. Only way Povetkin doesn’t lose is if one of those Russian mafia snipers took out Wlad.Posted October 21, 2013 6:44 pm
Pathetic excuse he lost because he laisy mooza-r. The best trainer was Tzyu. Where was he?povetkin vs huck same pattern. The worst is to blame someone in your own force lessPosted October 21, 2013 6:22 pm
Zimin…., “American specialists have ruined our entire effort.” … It only seems that way after you followed the terrible advice of charlatans.
Americans are sales people who aggressively push training ideas on everybody. Many don’t work—but some work. You need to select the tried and true product. Don’t be a guinea pig for new ideas and workouts.
Plyometrics were developed by Soviet Block sports scientists and adopted by Westerners because they work. They develop tremendous speed and power but achieve nothing in 3 weeks. You can see solid gains in 6 or 7 months. If you’re doing sport specific plyometrics in a scientifically developed program, you’ll enhance strength, speed, power, balance, footwork, agility etc. You see results if you stick to effective exercises. You can’t let any trainer overtax your muscles. You’ll be over trained or suffer muscular cramps. You won’t perform on fight night … not after you let a strength trainer push you.
Another problem is specialists who take developed workouts and tweak them up. They try to put their own unique stamp and brand on them. They reinvent workouts as a new system they claim outperforms all others. Then they enthusiastically push them on everybody and anybody who’s a world class athlete—so they can reap publicity and grab credit for your victories.
Interview at least a dozen top strength trainers… record all the interviews… transcribe and study the interviews… run the best ideas by a few of the contending specialists in 2nd and 3rd interviews as you narrow the selection.
That way you won’t have a world class fighter drinking his own pee.Posted October 21, 2013 6:16 pm
What a joke ! Is there ANYBODY out there that even thinks that Povetkin has any kind of a chance against Wlad ? I don’t think so .
Doesn’t matter, he wasn’t gonna win anyways. The people having him do excercises had nothing to do with the fact that he never went to Wlads bodyPosted October 21, 2013 5:29 pm
waiting until three weeks before fight-night to incorporate the input of another training team has mistake written all over it. moreover, Povetkin’s trainer should not have allowed the “Americans” to take over Povetkin’s training to the degree that they undermined Povetkin’s previous work. either Povetkin’s trainer did not think that was the case while it was happening or failed to stop it when it did happen. in either case, Zimin is at fault or whoever was in charge of training Povetkin for this bout.Posted October 21, 2013 4:36 pm
Sore loser, yes the referee should of taken some points away from wlad, but it was so one sided it was laughable ,it was a hugging contest not a fight.Man v Boy.Posted October 21, 2013 4:23 pm
All Povetkin needs is a decent referee, who is encouraged enough to take away Klitchko like boxing.Posted October 21, 2013 4:07 pm
