ernie has zero life and knows 0 about boxing and adds nothing to this site.

late money coming in on pov so tark is right. possibility of foul play here, just like in the first wlad-brewster fight.

It’s Me, Ernie

“I make Wladimir a 5:1 favorite…”

Nice work going for the favorite. As an experienced bettor on the sweet science, you would know the sportsbooks don’t offer a bet like that, needs to be more specific, but hell, you can’t even remember one name of the many champs you trained so you get a buy this time…

TARK

I make Wladimir a 5:1 favorite… He would be a 20:1 favorite anywhere but Moscow, Russia.

The fake Tark below giving odds was Idiot Ernie.

DONT COMPARE ALI WITH THESE BIG SLOW BUMS OF TODAY.

Posted October 5, 2013 8:49 am

Listen to me now. Wladiamr would toy with all past champs same as today. They were great little fighters that beat each others brains out and many ended up like Ali and Quarry. As a boxer the goal is to win the title and do what you have to do. Wladimar is combining everything and winning and winning. Enjoy the greatest, the rest of the world sure does.

Today heavyweights much more advanced compared to the old-school due to nutritions.

Fight fan,

Ali was undoubtedly a great fighter…but he was from a different era. Like most sensible fans, I don’t think you can compare athletes from different generations. By today’s standards, Ali was small, a light puncher, and not particularly strong. It doesn’t mean he couldn’t have beat these guys. Buy tricks are trick and they only work once. There would have been no rope a dope against Lewis or the Klitschkos.

Vladimir’s shotgun jab would put Ali on his ass and remember Ali was light heavyweight compare to today’s heavyweights.

Depends on which Ali. Clay Ali, or the older Ali that would take punches.

all you guys saying wk would have beat ali are crazy.ali would box circles around klitschko for 15 not 12 rounds.todays heavyweights suck.ali on his toes jabbing moving giving wk angles all night.alis level of competition way better than wk.sorry to tell you but it would be an easy fight for ali way way to fast for wk in both hand and foot speed

CONVICT JUDGE ASSIGNED TO FIGHT: “WBA-appointed Klitschko-Povetkin judge Ted Gimza has been given special permission by the Circuit Court of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, Lake County, Illinois, to leave the USA to work the WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight championship fight on October 5 in Moscow, Russia. Gimza, who in a plea bargain pled guilty to a felony weapons charge on July 29.” – WHY has the WBA assigned a convicted criminal to judge Wlad vs Povetkin? Has Ted Gimza rendered some robbery decisions in the past? Boxing beat reporters: Get to work.

Lewis not glass chin, but not great chin. Ko’d 2 times with one punch by mccall + rahman. Wladimir turned pro at 20, Lewis not till 23,24. Wladimir tired with Puritty in 11 rounds, not a chin problem. Wladimir’s chin not great, but not glass. Wladimir to ko Povetkin.

Posted October 4, 2013 3:17 pm

LAJ

Not talking about Ali being a coward or not having guts, it goes without saying he was courageous and willing to go to hell and back to win. Only pointing out that tying someone up to take advantage of your skill set is not and never has been limited to Wlad. Watch Tyson and Douglas fight, they were constantly tied up, not because they were cowards, but because their movement and balance put them into positions were it was the right thing to do. Ali actually was a fairly large heavyweight for his generation, just like Wlad is for his. Wlad has been outweighed by many of his opponents so not sure what that has to do with anything? Ali also had a 5-6″ reach advantage over most his components, and he used it, should he have not? Really I am just puzzled why people think that any fighter including Mayweather should fight down to their opponents levels?

Posted October 4, 2013 3:09 pm

Brazil,
Thanks for the info. At that weight you have to wonder if Chagaev has even been training. 250 lbs? Are you kidding me? Jeebus, the guy is only 5’11”. Pudar could just jab him for 12 rounds and win. Too bad.

Posted October 4, 2013 3:06 pm

BRUCE

PUNCH, YOU ARE BANG ON.

Posted October 4, 2013 3:04 pm

punch

Yes, Ali tied people up but he wasn’t outweighing his opponents by 20 pounds. Plus he was in more wars and had more balls than Wlad could ever carry.

Posted October 4, 2013 2:58 pm

punch

Well if you’re usually a lot higher than your opponents and outweigh them by 20 pounds whilst having comparable skillset, I’m really not surprised that they could hardly do any damage to you without seriously exposing themselves. Wlad has surely improved mostly thanks to Emmanuel Stewards you taught him how to tie his opponent up and made him rely more on his jabs. Wlad has never faced anyone remotely closed to Lennox in skillset and power, Vitali did and the outcome speaks for itself no matter how controversial people deem it to be.

I believe Wlad will beat Povetkin.

Posted October 4, 2013 2:40 pm

LAJ

Wlad ties up fighters much less than Ali, does that mean Ali had a glass chin? I have followed Wlad’s career and he used to be more aggressive, but improving your defense and not getting hit, does not mean you have a glass chin, it means you take advantage of your assets. Wlad is not a good inside fighter, why would he not tie up fighters, when that is not his strength? In 140 amateur fights he never tasted the canvas.

Posted October 4, 2013 2:34 pm

terror tim

If you think Wlad has a good chin you haven’t followed his career. He used to be more like his brother and not afraid to mix it up but not ever since his kayo losses. Vitali has a great chin and it shows in the ring. Wladimir fights very cautiously and ties up his fighter when they get in close. It has worked beautifully for him and has made him the best heavyweight of this generation. I think Vitali would have been one of the GOATs if it wasn’t for the injuries that took away a lot of his prime but you can’t use ifs and buts when talking about the greats. Wladimir has fought just about everyone and hasn’t really ducked anyone. I give him respect for that. He is a very good fighter and been a great champion.

Posted October 4, 2013 2:29 pm

punch

If Wlad doesn’t have a glass chin, why is he then such an octopus when under heavy fire? Vitali doesn’t do that.

Posted October 4, 2013 2:25 pm

LAJ

I keep hearing Wlad’s glass chin. Can any of you answer the last time Wald hit the deck, (clue > 9 yrs)? Do you realize it is a longer period of time than Ali or Holmes ever had between hitting the deck? Also do you realize two of his losses were stamina issues and not chin issues. Sanders caught him clean with a hard, fast punch, not sure how that relates to a glass chin? He got back up when most heavies including LL would have been down for the count. I hardly see a glass chin, certainly not iron, but also not glass.

sorry Typo I mean Thai Kicks.

Also Fedor was incredible at Judo(Hence why Putin loved him) and expert at Sambo.

Just watch Fedor’s match against World Champion Judo who he handles like a play thing.

Ok back to boxing where it’s chess match as you are limited to what you can do it’s called boxing.

Fedor could do more then just boxing. For instance say in Pride you could move a person punch away then go for a take down.
You could use Tie Kicks. Fedor was a good boxer though but he was damn smart and very good at Take downs one of the best even.
