BOLO… “Chisora he was in danger as it was 50/50 before the KO.”
No it wasn’t… Haye dominated the whole fight and wore down a fighter who had never been stopped before. Haye defended better and took Chisora out with a variety of punches Ali could never throw.
Ali never had the big left hook… The crushin liver shot… The punishing body attack… Haye is a complete fighter — where Ali was missing a lot of championship caliber skills.
There were just no good heavyweights who could box and punch that well during Ali’s career… When Ali finally agreed to fight Larry Holmes, a big tall heavyweight with masterly skills … Ali was beaten every minute of every round and stopped, even though Holmes was trying not to to hurt Ali too bad because he felt sorry for him.Posted September 30, 2013 10:41 am
Yea Tark he had a good defense against the “can’t break an egg” Mormeck, where he almost get sparked but Mormeck couldn’t follow because he’s average, or Thompson, or Barrett, even against european level Chisora he was in danger as it was 50/50 before the Ko. Footwork, reflexes is part of defense do you think he was better than the 60 ALi version in that area ? An ancient Ruiz connected many times with the jab against Haye, Haye is easy to hit, he has a good uper body and movement but that’s it, he only proved he can survive because of that. And Ali was green against Banks and sick vs Spink or Holmes, we talking about the 1967 one got it ?
BOLO says… “David Haye makes FAR too many tacticle mistakes in the ring to even compete with a prime ALI.”
Haye has a much stronger and more functional stance, better punching power, and defends much better than Ali ever did.
Ali got hit with every other blooping wild-assed swing Henry Cooper, Karl Mildenberger, Ken Norton, Leon Spinks, or Oscar Bonavena threw… That’s why Ali’s in the shape he’s in today.. Haye wouldn’t get hit in the ass with those crude swings once he had over 20 fights.Posted September 30, 2013 2:00 am

K2F@G, Who did those losers fight to come in undefeated to face the Klits?
Answer-No One…Posted September 29, 2013 7:40 pm
Tark you proved many times that you know minimum about boxing, it’s always the same bs argument with you regaring the 70 era, like they had no defense or were swingers, but they took risk idiot unlike the prima donna Haye.
David Haye is entertaining but he’s a “B-list” boxer with a C- trainer. Any A-list boxer would exploit him. That Wladimir Klitschko didn’t knock him out only says that Haye does know how to survive. Still, Prime Muhammad ALI exposes and embarrasses him worse than Klitschko did.Posted September 29, 2013 4:38 pm
It’s Earnie the Moron ; If all Wlad fights is ” over the hill cruiserweights ” ,
RIGHT!!! Guys like Lorenzo Zanon, Lucian Rodriguez,, Jean Pierre Coopman, Richard Dunn, and Brian London would not get title shots today.
They would never be heard from.Posted September 28, 2013 1:27 pm
I agree TARK and that makes for better competition and nobody at under 200 lbs. to boot.Posted September 28, 2013 1:15 pm
Kid Blast.., Right Scott Frank. But Larry Holmes fought his share of 2nd rate challengers—just like Louis, Lewis, Ali, Vitali, and Wladimir did… You don’t get to 20 successful defenses by fighting world beaters every time out … There aren’t that many of them.
Today there’s a lot more good heavyweights because a massive slice of the globe that had no developed professional heavyweights is now producing the a huge percentage of them.
And — there’s twice as many people in the world as there were in the 60’s.Posted September 28, 2013 11:55 am

Wlad will eventually hit the record book as “most over the hill cruiserweights to be defeated in a boring fashion by a second rate heavyweight who couldn’t carry Larry Holmes’ jock strap…Posted September 28, 2013 11:19 am

Yeah TARK used thumb pretty good against Frank, Jones, and LeDoux. Retired the luckless Jones with it. Ali, Holmes and anyone who made the top ten back then made it with beating plenty of cruisers and blown up lh’s. Ali was so proud of himself for beating the ancient LH Archie Moore, won a controversial decision over Doug Jones, got saved against Henry Cooper. Could anyone see these guys against Vlad?Posted September 28, 2013 6:56 am
Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)
Wlad to win by brutal stoppage in the mid-to-late rounds. Al Pov is not gonna be able to avoid or handle that freakish punching power. Starting with that jackhammer jab, followed by those straight right and left hook steel hammers.
61-3 (52 KOs) is starting so to look like one of the ATG records in HW boxing history. Wlad is going to break some long-standing records before he retires, including consecutive title defenses.Posted September 28, 2013 4:16 am

SeanieP…, You have to remember that Larry Holmes defended the title against Marvis Frazier, who had 10 fights… Against Alfredo Evangelista and Leon Stinks in blowouts… Against David Bey who had 14 fights… Against Scott LeDoux, who couldn’t beat Duane Bobick or Leon Spinks… Against little Ossie Ocasio who had 13 fights… Against Lorenzo Zanon… Against Lucian Rodriguez… Against Frank Scott.
Every World Champion with 10 or more defenses…and many who didn’t have that many…fought a bunch of powder puff challengers… At least Alexander Povetkin is undefeated in over 25 fights and is an Olympic Gold Medal winner … Povetkin has the gift of having this fight in his home country’s most important city.
And he’s a Russian. They don’t take prisoners in a fight of this magnitude. I believe Wladimir will score an impressive KO — but it wouldn’t amaze me to see something weird happen and AP wind up with the title. I’ve seen too many shocking things happen in Boxing.Posted September 28, 2013 1:50 am
Not really rated this guy since the huck fight. But he has a better chin than Wlad so you never know. Maybe HW division will get its spark back when the tag team tedium era is over.Posted September 27, 2013 6:58 pm

Wlad is BOOORING!!!!
Grabbing, leaning on and riding your opponents backs to the canvas!!!Posted September 27, 2013 2:30 pm
BOLO.., You just don’t know Boxing. Ali was hammered to the canvas by little guys Henry Cooper and Sonny Banks who had more speed than the ponderous Liston and Foreman. A crude blooping swinger like Norton broke Ali’s jaw and beat him up. Norton was wide open defensively and KO’d 4 times by better punchers than Ali. The only guy other than Wladimir to beat Haye was a 35-fight veteran when Haye had 10 fights. I don’t see Ali beating the present version of Haye.
Haye has more strength, skill, punching power, and defensive finesse than Ali. Haye would outpoint Ali fairly easily. Ali couldn’t even stop Alfredo Evangelista or neophyte Leon Spinks … and he got 3 or 4 gift decisions.Posted September 27, 2013 2:21 pm
the voice of reason
everyone seems to judge povetkin by his fight with huck where he couldnt put away a ‘cruiserweight’ but this is misleading. Povetkin is no giant and huck bulked up to near same weight – plus huck is a world class opponent in his own right. Povetkin is in fact a lot better than people realize, and i think he will really push klitschko in this fight. Wlad wins eventually though because the man is superhumanPosted September 27, 2013 1:30 pm
Tark you like to blabla with your bs theory about defense. ALi might absorb some punishment by Haye but eventually would take him apart in the later rounds as Haye has no plan B, take 0 risk against high level opposition, has no heart, stamina issue and don’t hit harder than Liston, Foreman, Shavers. Wlad could beat Ali on points but Haye is overrated and always will be, he only box for the money.Posted September 27, 2013 12:09 pm

Idiot Ernie.., Ali was a cruiserweight… He weighed 201 for Cooper and 203 for Mildenberger. At least Haye weighed a minimum of 210 as a heavyweight and is a lot stronger, better puncher, and a better defender than Ali.
Ali fought such sub-cruiserweights who weighed in the 180’s as Doug Jones, Bob Foster, and Jimmy Ellis — and a lot of other little guys who were smaller than anyone Wladimir ever fought.Posted September 27, 2013 12:49 am

“The Russian promoters moved Heaven and Earth to get the fight in Moscow.. The K Bros have to pay attention to everything and everyone. This title means many millions to those Russian promoters and they’ll try anything to get it.” – Agree with TARK. There was actually a rumor that the Russian mob had a financial stake in Povetkin. Any confirmation of this? In any case, watch the food, watch the ring, watch the locker room, the judges assigned to the bout, everything.Posted September 26, 2013 7:51 pm
The fraud Povetkin is finally going to get KTFO. It’s been 3 years waiting. He collected his millions beating nobodies for his fake version of the WBA title after declining his mandatory title shot. Now, he’s finally putting his head on the chopping block with another phat payday to take into retirement.Posted September 26, 2013 7:48 pm

The fight is in Russia.., Russians want the Heavyweight Championship.. Wladimir has to be very careful..
Vitali Klitschko was exceedingly careful when he fought a Pole in Poland. He made sure the judges were truely neutral. He made sure to have Wladimir in Adamek’s dressing room. He made sure he had somebody watching the Adamek Corner.. He made sure he had somebody watching his own corner from a good vantage point.
I think this fight is a little more serious.. The Russian promoters moved Heaven and Earth to get the fight in Moscow.. The K Bros have to pay attention to everything and everyone. This title means many millions to those Russian promoters and they’ll try anything to get it.Posted September 26, 2013 4:41 pm

LOL LOL , Great job trying real hard to boost this fight and promote it as if it’s going to good fight. As Anti-Klitschko as I am, everyone knows this fight is a waste of time. Easy Ko for Wlad. Only positive I can take away from this is hopefully this will be the last hurdle for Wlad to jump so we can get rid of this “Super Champion” & regular champion nonsense and the WBA will finally have to acknowledge wlad as the WBA champ. it’s sad that Povetkin even considers himself a “champion”Posted September 26, 2013 4:17 pm

Povetkin is tough and has a good chin. Chambers proved his chin good. And Pov has a good overhand right, and has the ability to punch in bunches, example, 5 punch combos that Chambers had no answer for. But, Wlad is The King of Boxing and will keep Pov at bay with the jab. Cuts may be a factor in this fight, and Wladdy will either TKO Pov on cuts or KO Pov with a huge right hand. This WILL be a more entertaining fight than a FMJr Fight. Much more entertaining. If you wankers think the Heavy Weight Division is weak because of dominance by White Fighters, then do not watch, and do not comment. Go away and praise the welters, welters, welters, welters, welters, welters. Bow down to the Queen of the Shoulder Roll. Wankers….bwaaahaahaaPosted September 26, 2013 1:57 pm
This will be interesting. Will Povetkin dare to enter the same that Vladimir is in? If so, will there be some secreat cheating by his friend Putin’s secret agency? If this is a fair fight, then Povetkin will be going down. There can be no other outcome.Posted September 26, 2013 12:45 pm
