Takes good management to carry a weak chin, and Khan is stuck with his family. He has to break away or go down

“Maidana is a puncher who Khan whipped” oh boy, what fight was you watching bro because I seen Khan Khan out on his feet in the 9 or 10th round,he was lucky the ref never stopped it, “whipped” lmfao

Well said MN, sums it up perfectly

He may as well retire then……….

Roach was just giving smart-ass, sarcastic answers to Khan’s ignorant father and “adviser” who made ridiculously stupid requests of him. They were disrespectful to Freddie so Freddie retaliated with some verbal slashing.

I rather enjoyed it.

You CANNOT stay away from punchers if you want to be an ATG fighter.. That’s a stupid comment.. Maidana is a puncher who Khan whipped—of course Amir’s defense and infighting skills looked horrible during that fight. Amir took a devastating battering even though he won the fight—so was that a problem of no chin, or no defense??? ..Khan needs to stay away from trainers who cannot teach infighting skills, inside defense, and clinching skills … Then he’ll be fine.

Total agree

Wolfe will knock him out if he steps outta line!

Posted September 18, 2012 11:07 pm

A fight ago Khan was calling out Mayweather, now he has to take his next fight very very carefully because if he gets his as$ handed to him again then his big dollar pay cheques are pretty much over. Recommend he fights Kell Brook, throws 2 punch combinations and gets on his bike to win on a decision.

I can’t think of a more over-rated and delusional boxer of the last 20 years.

Who are they??

in other words, quit boxing…lol

Posted September 15, 2012 11:20 am

Yes, Khan should stay away from the punchers. The ladies division is still looking for a superstar so… Oh, ok. Still too risky for Khan.

Posted September 15, 2012 10:28 am

khan clearly is not an extremist.
but its unfortunate he has these clowns around him filling his head full of nonsense, never letting him take responsibility for his own career. why a grown man has an ‘adviser’ and his father (and probably a few more leeches) to make decisions for him is beyond me.
if he’d been allowed to be his own man i think khan would be enjoying a more successful career since he could have learned from his mistakes, rather than pretend they were someone else’s fault.

How can you call yourself a world beater if you make sure all the fighters you face are non_punchers? both Roach and Khan spout some of the funniest statementsever.

Off subject: Where’s ESB’s report on the B.J.Saunders/Jarrod fletcher fight :?:

Posted September 15, 2012 4:54 am

A few months ago Khan was saying how much he had learnt from Roach and how grateful he was to train with Manny and he admired him so much….Pity he he didn’t learn something a bit more substantial…Like integrity,if he had he would have the respect to ask Roach to his face and not send someone else for his demands….But I understand his thinking on this….Down the road when he finds what a blunder he’s made he can use the excuse it was not him who really wanted the split….Easy one this.Khan has never directly taken blame for himself…

Khan can’t punch, but thinks he can. That is his big problem. He got up from Garcia’s sucker punch, but chose to slug with the kid and got starched. Khan and his team have been very disrespectful to Roach and don’t seem to appreciate that he is not a marque star, but a guy who is one shot away from oblivion. He shout take on Ashley Theophane next, that is his level.

Are you suggesting Roach SHOULD have dropped Chavez Jr and Manny in favour of Khan? (Incidentally if Khan kicked me in the ass wouldn’t that indicate he was more suited to MMA?)

Posted September 15, 2012 2:40 am

Ive been a amir khan fan, but im even a bigger fan of boxing. Khan was an amazing olympian but as a professional he was average at best, he needs the head gear to protect that chin, he shouldve stayed amateur and gone for gold in beijing and retired and made money thru endorsements. He was a “MADE” champ not a true boxer, slugger!

Posted September 15, 2012 12:34 am

Khan should be kept away from punchers. no kidding? you don’t have to be a proffessional trainer to figure that out!

Posted September 15, 2012 12:04 am

They must have thought that Roach was brain dead to ask that of him. Either that, or they are brain dead.

Posted September 14, 2012 11:27 pm

to prove how out of touch with reality Khan is…….he said the other day he wanted to fight Lucas Matthysse!
He truly believes he is better than Pac man, and his ego wont let him learn that it was his own stupidity that lost him the fights.
Roach was telling him after round one to not go tow to tow with the guy and BAM, he gets clocked! I think Roach would love for Khan to dump him, then set up a fight with Manny and beat the crap out of the arrogant idiot!

Posted September 14, 2012 9:39 pm

The Kingslayer

Khan’s problem is his ego and that silly entourage who blow smoke up his you know what.

Posted September 14, 2012 8:48 pm

Dumping Pacquiao and Chavez jr . for Khan that was a ridicules demand by team Khan,,other successful boxers that had to avoid big punchers because of their Questionable chin have been Ken Norton always got ko when fighting big punchers ,,Lennox lewis knock out two times ,,Tommy Hearns fragile jaw but explosive offense ,,Juan manuel Lopez,,glass jaw put power ful puncher..

Posted September 14, 2012 8:18 pm

Khan just needs to accept the loss as his responsibility (getting wreakless not following the game plan), and move forward from there. He’s gonna looes eventually no matter who his trainer is. But, he can keep on a winning path by looking at his ability realistically, and condition his mental focus…not just the physical.

Posted September 14, 2012 8:15 pm

he was a world champ, he should defend his title against anyone Roach, puncher or not!

Posted September 14, 2012 8:13 pm

Are you seriously doubting Roach’s words? That’s just his opinion. I trust his opinion more than any of your inexpert opinions here lol.

The armchair warrior haters are back in droves Most of you wankers wouldnt know a good boxer if he kicked you in the ass.

Posted September 14, 2012 7:25 pm

Punchers? Just he mean BIG punchers or just all boxers?

Posted September 14, 2012 6:48 pm

The problem with Amir is that he has become an arrogant pig. Telling Sky he was ‘already a superstar in the States’ before his last fight sums the man up. I don’t really care who knocks him out next.

Posted September 14, 2012 6:40 pm

And you fools actually believe this?

dear john

i give khan 3yr to make his money .then he will be shot ,be gratefull amir dont let the dollars rule u ,thank god for everything.dont forget u are a muslim

Posted September 14, 2012 5:31 pm

How delusional is Khan and his team, the only reason Khan got as far as he did with Roach is because of the quality of the sparring partners Roach is able to bring in for his big names, not to mention actually being able to spar with the big names..

Posted September 14, 2012 5:28 pm

Khan and the rest of his Team/relatives seriously need to get a reality check. Who the hell do they think they are asking Roach to drop Pacman and Chavez! This is utter madness. I think Khan is only highly regarded amongst his community in Manchester. The rest of the UK know he is finished. Khan’s problem is not his chin…it’s his EGO! The boy and his family need to grow up and leave boxing with the tiny bit of integrity he may have left. Even the Sky Sports presenters seem to say a lot with their mere expressions when the subject of khan arises. Come fight Rafiq Ahmed in Leytonstone…former British lightweight amateur student champion

Posted September 14, 2012 5:18 pm

So Mr Roach please dump Manny and Chavez two of the best fighters on the planet in favour of my over hyped son who is simply not good enough.

I hope Freddie spent less than a nano-second giving the Khans his answer.
