Correction: Atlas claimed a source told him that he (the source) saw the email. Atlas called the guy “my source.” What? Is Teddy a private detective? Got snitches on the street?

Posted August 15, 2013 11:35 am

“So you know for a fact Atlas was lying then? ” Well, Peej. Atlas claimed he saw a Team Pacquiao email sent to Team Mayweather asking what would happen if Manny failed a drug test. Ok. Teddy never came up with the email. Team Mayweather never produced it either. Where’s this email? Teddy is a liar.

Posted August 15, 2013 11:25 am

“But we do know Pac turned down millions of dollars to AVOID taking a drug test.”

No, that’s what you think you know and what you want to believe.

Posted August 15, 2013 11:20 am

“Pac could of put it all to rest with the drug test but he refused.” Peej, I basically agree with you. But, it is not Pac’s responsibility to prove he is not on PEDs. The accusers, aka Mayweathers and GBP have the burden of proof. Just saying someone did something doesn’t prove anything. Pac has no obligation to prove he didn’t do PEDs. If you accuse a guy of being a thief you have to prove it. He doesn’t have to prove he’s not. That’s our legal system. Besides, Peej, the Mayweathers and GBP also could have put it all to rest very quickly with a withdrawal of all accusations and a sincere apology. But they didn’t.

Manny can’t selling tickets by mentining Mayweather again, n stupid fans falling 4 it again.

Floyd has all the reason to get scared of Pedquaio!!!

Posted August 15, 2013 2:46 am

We don’t know what went on with the trial. But we do know Pac turned down millions of dollars to AVOID taking a drug test. Its just that simple. WHO give a fly shp if Mayweather was scared or not. WE WILL NEVER know if he was scared. Because PAC was SCARED OF NEEDLES. LOL, or was it that BOB wasn;t finish building that luxurious arena. LMAO

Once again it is all hear say. Send an email to him, he will respond and ask him if it is actual facts or if it is hear say and not actually proven.

Posted August 14, 2013 4:04 pm

Forget Mayweather vs Pacquiao, that ship has sailed. If Pacquiao can beat Rios and look good doing it. How about a Pacquiao vs Broner Fight?

Posted August 14, 2013 2:47 pm

All of this stuff isn’t made up. If Thomas Hauser puts his name to it, you can take it to the bank. Shameful to see this stuff hidden under the rug. Mayweather is a cheat!

Posted August 14, 2013 12:54 pm

So you know for a fact Atlas was lying then? Or is that just your opinion? I have no clue. And as for that article like I have stated it is hear say and opinion. They say that in the article because they know if they try and say it is fact they will also be sued. Pac could of put it all to rest with the drug test but he refused. And really is only no wanting to take the test because they have accused Marquez of being juiced up. lol.

“The Ped Mess Part 1 and Part 2 is interesting and sad information. Interesting how Manny Pacquiao’s attorney soepened documents forF loyd, Ortiz, Mosely and Cotto and none were ever given.” And Floyd refused to give a deposition as well. The Mayweather’s and GBP’s sole agenda was to damage Pacquiao’s reputation. That’s why Pac sued the mofo’s. If they had proof to back up their PED accusations that would be a different story. But they didn’t. So what was their motive? Destroy Manny Pacquiao and indirectly screw Bob Arum as well because Pac was his meal ticket (for the most part). Even though they paid a settlement, they still accomplished their goal–Pac knows this–the PED shadow will hang over Pac for perpetuity. Still, if the issue had gone to court, GBP and the Mayweathers would be exposed for the fool liars that they are and likely would have paid a heftier monetary penalty (BTW, rest assured GBP and Mayweathers also had to pay for Pac’s attorney and other legal and court related costs). This is why no subpoenaed documents were surrendered and why Floyd continually refused to submit to a deposition. People who have nothing to hide and nothing to fear don’t do this kind of stuff. People who don’t want to expose themselves do.

As for Teddy Atlas–he’s a LIAR! How easy and quickly his screeching was squelched. Why? Because he was a liar. Or, an extortionist. Who knows. IMO Teddy got off lightly. Very lightly.

Posted August 14, 2013 11:21 am

BTW, I have been the beneficiary of an out of court settlement so I know how the process works. My attorney fully explained it to me before we filed suit. What I didn’t realize until all was said and done is that I would regret not being able to expose the liars for what they were. But I dug deep into their pockets. That helped.

Posted August 14, 2013 11:11 am

Hecdog, you are absolutely correct on this issue: “Mayweather then settled out of court with Pacquiao for a substantially bigger amount of money” Accusers who have no evidence to back up their accusations usually settle out of court when they are sued because they get to walk away from the lawsuit with “no admission” of doing anything wrong, or being wrong, or anything and also with court orders restricting both sides from discussing the outcome of the settlements in any way. Floyd, GBP, et al, paid an out-of-court settlement so they could walk away from the issue without embarrassing themselves for being the fools that they are. In the end it doesn’t matter whether Pacquiao was making lame excuses or not. He was accused of doing PEDs but not one single soul had any proof that he did so. I guarantee you that even though the settlements were “undisclosed” amounts, they were very hefty. You will never hear the Mayweathers or GBP or anyone else say or admit to how much they had to cough up to Pacquiao for being such fools. My guess is that it was in the millions of dollars.

But you know what Peej? For a guy who claims he never accused Pac of doing PEDs you sure go on a lot about it. Everything you say indicates you believe he was doing PEDs. You insinuate that in every way you can without actually saying it, then when someone calls you out on it, you attempt to shield yourself by saying you never accused him of doing PEDs. You have made it very clear over the past couple of years that you think Pac was on PEDs. No need for further charade. We get it. We know.

Posted August 14, 2013 11:07 am

Like I said it is all hear say. Plain and simple. I know who you are talking about an dread them all the time. I read maxboxing every day. It is opinion and not fact. That is like Atlas hearing that Mannys team asked if there is a way to not let out a positive test come out if he comes up positive or what happens if that where to occure. There is no way to prove it so it is all hear say. And at the end of the day it is an opinion and a theory. I don’t care about any settlements. Pac was the one that came up with lame excuses and that falls on him.

Posted August 14, 2013 9:54 am

PEEJ, The author of this article is well known and respected writer Thomas Hauser. The man has written over 45 boxing books and is admired and trusted by everyone. He would never put his name out there with a full clear investigation, which he did. Oscar De La Hoya, GBP, and USADA all knew and had a part in the cover up as told my Montoya and Hauser. GBP has had plenty of their fighters fail the tests, and cover ups have been going on for awhile. The Ped Mess Part 1 and Part 2 is interesting and sad information. Interesting how Manny Pacquiao’s attorney soepened documents forF loyd, Ortiz, Mosely and Cotto and none were ever given. Mayweather then settled out of court with Pacquiao for a substantially bigger amount of money. Funny also how Floyd ran and dodged a question from Montoya in an interview regarding testosterone replacement. Looked guilty as sin. The evidence all points to the obvious. Floyd is a cheat. He of all people running his mouth about Manny using Peds. The man is a phony.

Posted August 14, 2013 12:13 am

And I read those articles written and that is someone’s opinion or theory. It’s hear say. I have also read the email box Montaya did about those pieces and he says its not fact.

Posted August 13, 2013 9:21 pm

Sorry but Floyd out sells Pac. Those are facts. And your right Pac deserves a slice. But not what Floyd gets. Why put the blame in Floyd when Floyd offered Pac 40 mil and Pac turned it down. So according to to REM it shouldn’t be about money and Pac needs to show his greatness. But he turned it down. So according to what you said Pac was the one that ran from the fight

Posted August 13, 2013 9:19 pm

te tumbo

i don’t care who dictates terms. i do care who sabotages negotiations with an abiding reluctance to simply fight on even terms. in this case, that’s always been Team Pacquiao*. harmless and MUTUALLY-Applied testing should’ve NEVER been a deal-breaker. unfortunately, that’s what it became with Team Pacquiao’s* hair-splitting wrangling over testing conditions and phantom negotiations (i.e., publicity stunts) that didN’T actually include Mayweather. a loss means a lot less to the Marquez-Damaged Pacquiao’s* marketing profile now. he’s already plucked the cherry orchard clean of Names and opponents. all that left remains is the Mayweather PPV payday. unfortunately, it’s no longer a P4P Showdown and Pacquiao* will have to test according to Mayweather’s terms or No Deal. at which point, we’re back to square one. besides, who cares any more if these two face each other? definitely not 1 million PPV-paying fight-fans.

Posted August 13, 2013 8:56 pm

The Ped Mess article written by Gabriel Mntoya in Shame on Floyd an the rest of the cover up people. Read it for yourselves Mayweather fans.

Posted August 13, 2013 8:50 pm

SPyRo, The Ped Mess that you mentioned should be read by all Floyd Mayweather fans. Floyd Mayweather has always been a cheater. Failed three drug tests! GBP, Schaeffer, Oscar De La Hoya and Mayweather Promotions should be ashamed for covering it up. Floyd Mayweather is a disgrace talking about being the pioneer of random drug testing. Hypocrite at the highest level.

Posted August 13, 2013 8:48 pm

Hidalgo i agree a 1000% however this is what this debate has deteriorated into. Most Floyd fans would rather defend Floyds delusion of superiority and argue that Pac isn’t entitled to a even split instead of pressuring him to make the fight. The only conclusion i can come up with is that alot of his fans are fans of his sucsess and not really boxing fans. They see flashes of his brilliance on highlights see his symbols of sucsess and just repeat whatever nonsense he says without being informed. We are fans of boxing while not all but to many Floyd fans just aren’t. If they were boxing fans we would’ve seen this fight by now.

Posted August 13, 2013 7:32 pm

Pacquaio spent the last few years avoiding, now he’s fighting shleps in China and needs a payday.

Floyd should never throw this coward or his team a bone and let him slip into obscurity getting beat by the likes of Bradley and Rios.

Posted August 13, 2013 7:18 pm

Peej Pacs 3 fights after that have generated over 3 mil ppv buys his #s are on par with where they need to be. When Pac isn’t doing those #s he wont be around so he’ll always be in a position to demand whatever kind of split he wants with Floyd.

Posted August 13, 2013 7:04 pm

The Best!

Mayweather is really a cherry picker if he takes this fight. It will just prove once again that he fights has beens.

Posted August 13, 2013 7:04 pm

Do boxing fans really care who “dictates the terms?” I mean who really cares? Make the friggin’ fight! Get it over with. Otherwise shut up! “I’ll fight Pacquiao if he signs with Mayweather Promotions.” “If you think you can beat me, fight me.” Geezuz, it’s real simple: split everything right down the middle. Do the random testing–no stipulations! Get in the ring and fight!

However, IT Won’t HAPPEN!

Posted August 13, 2013 6:52 pm

Floyd is in the driver seat to dictate all terms. In 2010 Pac was in the driver seat and Floyd agreed to all his terms but Pac wouldn’t agree to 1 term of Floyd’s. and now Floyd has looked terrible ever since his fight with Mosley. His sales has dropped off while Floyd’s has only increased. Floyd has his place and so for Pac. They do sit among the greats. Just Floyd is a bit greater than Pac.

Posted August 13, 2013 5:49 pm

I always say Floyds a fighter for the ages but if he never fights Pac i will never respect him. And Floyd will never be in a position to dictate terms to Pac so he needs to negotiate accordingly. Pacs just to big in boxing to hope people forget everything Floyd has done to avoid Pac. No Pac fight no place among the greats its that simple.

Posted August 13, 2013 4:55 pm

Floyd already tried to make the fight. With Arum in the picture the fight won’t come off. Also Guerrero wasn’t coming off 2 losses and one of those being a devastating KO

Posted August 13, 2013 1:30 pm

Sorry but it’s comety about money. Manny and Arum got to accept whatever price terms that are offered, especially now. And th fight will never happen. That train has passed.

Pac, that little weezel, hiding behind Top Rank. PAC grow your own balls and get from under BOB daddy Arum nuts. Sign with you OWN promotions and fight Mayweather. Pac know what it will take for this fight to happen. and that is to leave TOP RANK. He want do it, WHY? so he can keep fight sledge foot guys with no movement.

No point in Floyd entertaining a fight with Pac now. Pac would be easy work for Floyd. And not to mention that Pac is with Top Rank and if you notice Top Rank and Golden Boy do not work together. Neither does Mayweather Promotions. Should of took the test and took the 40 mil. Terrible

“Matthysse would clean out 140 by beating Garcia” I guess that’s basically true, Tark. But a fight with Marquez would be dynamite. Marquez has been fighting at the elite level for a long time. But it looks like Marquez wants to stay at welterweight for now. Interesting–I wonder if he’ll try to make a statement by beating Bradley then seek a rematch with Floyd? I’d like to see how the “new” Marquez would fair in a rematch with Mayweather.

Maywather nut huggers!

So what Manny wants to fight its boxing give a Sh*# about what happened in the past, still want to see this fight.

Just to state, I like watching Mayweather too! His performance against Mosely was off the chain but just crawl out the mans arse a little bit please.

If I was a big Mayweather supporter I’d be worried about Alverez right now.

As boxer Mayweather is a class act, never been beaten. Rediculous skills. But recall Augustus making him look human, hell even Cotto proved he is not untouchable. So why not get it on with his biggist rival?

MNboxingFAN – Sean

If Pacquiao beats Rios by KO then I think he’d have a good case to fight Mayweather, but no one KO’s Rios… sooooo yeah… probably not gonna happen. If Manny wins by Decision he’ll need one more fight against a top level fighter to show he’s still got it to fight Mayweather. The fight can happen… but Manny’s retirement clock is ticking… if Mayweather wants that Money he’d better hurry!

ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE FOR MANNY PACQUIAO, particularly if he wants to exploit the Asian market is a bout with AMIR KHAN, (whom I believe has parted ties with Golden Boy Promotions – not sure if that has been confirmed)…

This is another good match as Khan repeatedly told us he got the better of Pac in sparring and would be great to see two former gym mates getting it on.
Khan’s speed vs Manny’s at Welterweight…

If Khan beats Pac, then this will give more credence to him having a shot at Floyd and it will make big money for both guys and I’m sure would interest most fight fans and the general public also.

He could also hijack Floyd’s plans as Khan is seriously being considered as his next opponent in his deal with Showtime!

It will also give momentum to the winner and they should really force a match between the winner of Floyd and Saul.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

Junio: Thanks, mano. Well… then it sounds like we agree on quite a bit, however, I do not agree that a 5th fight between PacMan and JMM is necessary at this point. But if both Pac and JMM really want a 5th for some crazy reason, then so be it… I’ll enjoy watching it regardless.

Three fights between two men is generally enough to settle any rivalry; four fights is almost always more than enough to settle anything; and five fights is just going overboard, in humble my opinion. Especially considering that PacMan only has a handful more fights before retirement — like FMJ.

I believe there are better fights out there for PacMan such as: FMJ, Bradley II, Broner, Matthysse (if he moves up to WW), and possibly Provo — if gets past Alvarado.

Floyd will lose 1 round vs canelo and then manny

Posted August 13, 2013 1:11 am

Hidalgo…, Matthysse would clean out 140 by beating Garcia… He already smashed out Ajose and Peterson… Garcia clobbered Khan and whipped Judah… It’s done.

Next up? Floyd at 147. If Floyd loses to Canelo? That’s the only thing that stops it.

Pac doesn’t know how he’ll react if he gets clocked by Rios & neither do ANYBODY else. That’s the question that’ll be answered by this fight. To me, he’s getting way ahead of himself by calling out anybody; Rios is a genuine tough mofo & he’s bigger than Manny & hits pretty hard so Pac should shut his trap & start worrying about the task at hand; task that looks very threatening to his health, from where I’m watching…

Posted August 13, 2013 12:53 am

I’ll bet he gets them…

Posted August 13, 2013 12:45 am

“But if Matthysse scores a dramatic victory over Garcia — that fight may come first…”

I hope it doesn’t, Tark. But the lure of a big purse is too great for someone at Matthysse’s level and in his position–I guess. I’d prefer to see Matthysse clean out the jr. welterweight division first, then move on up to welterweight. I mean, there’s Marquez who I’d love to see Matthysse fight. Alvarado too. I’d also like to see Matthysse KO Khan but I don’t think that fight will ever happen. But Danny’s got three titles that Matthysse is wanting. I’ll be he gets them too.

Posted August 12, 2013 9:32 pm

Pac, first concentrate on Rios. Post fight, if you win, THEN start talking to Floyd about fighting. It’s always a HUGE mistake to look past fighters — I’ve seen it happen too many times. They start talking about who they’re going to fight next, only to see that “next fight” disappear because they lost to the guy they assumed they were going to beat.

The Voice of Boxing

Is it not strange that Floyd who started the accusations of Manny being on PEDS settled very quietly and the Floydbots have not said too much. Well let me shed a bit more light on this to make sure this does not go out like a whimper.
At frst his Floydbots were not giving Manny credit. First they said he was draining guys. Next it was that they were past their prime or were coming off losses. Then it was only guys who were made for his style. Then when Floyd and family started screaming about PEDS and that Manny suddenly had new found power and was koing everyone, his Floydbots blindly agreed. Well apart from Cotto (TKO), Manny has not ko-ed anybody for years. Secondly, Manny always had power even when he was skinny but under Roach he developed his rt hand.
Back to PEDS. I always asked why was it that Floyd always took such time away from boxing and when he comes back he is in shape. And why is it that his dad is in better shape now than when he was younger and boxing. Well why is it that his fighters keep getting caught too?
Is it not also strange that he demands that only USADA be used but it is VADA that catches PEDS users? And why is it that Steve Kim and Thomas Hauser were told to quit the stories about Floyd being caught with PEDS?
And did anyone hear that as soon as Manny’s people heard of that and asked for copies of all his PEDS tests that they suddenly agreed to quietly settle out of court? Why does Floyd not get weighed so we can see what he is on fight night? because he does not want us to know how big he really is. He who cries out the loudest usually is the guilty one. Floyd stays away from boxing, comes back and demands testing when he is weaned off whatever he is or was on. How about doing it all year round that way we know he is fully clean and not just clean for the period he was tested.
And please, Golden Boy and USADA are all in this. They cover up failed tests. We know about the Morales scam and Petersen. Go ask Winky Wright about him and Quillin’s tests!!!!!

Posted August 12, 2013 8:17 pm

the pacman is being very disrespectful to even bring Floyd up right now in this manner, eventhough I see him giving rios an old fashion butt whopping my momz used to put on us,he’s way too stationary and ideal for pac, this fight was set up in the making but makes for an exciting fight so of course bob is going to put this fight on display, why not?..yezzir!

HEY GUS, and what will Floyd be doing whlile his opponent is beating on his arm trying to dislocate his shoulder. LOL Once Mayweather connects with one of those counter right hands. The shoulder theraphy will be over. LOL

Posted August 12, 2013 7:52 pm

Pacquiao needs to get past Rios in impressive fashion first. Even so, if the fight ever happens–before Mayweather turns 50—I’m going with Floyd. No way in h3ll Pac can beat Floyd at this point in his career.

Posted August 12, 2013 7:26 pm

Junio, you’re right. Timing is everything.

Posted August 12, 2013 7:26 pm

When Floyd does the shoulder roll if te opponent aims for the side of the shoulder and punches as hard as he can this will dislocate the shoulder if he does it enough times.

Posted August 12, 2013 7:25 pm

Oh brother. Manny needs to focus on his current fight first. If he gets past Rios then talk about Floyd.

The first thing I learned in the boxing gym was “timing beats speed” so I agree with that. Manny and Floyd have both speed and accuracy.

I like Manny’s style more than Mayweather’s. I like both fighters though. Floyd could questionably have a loss on his record from the Castillo fight. I do believe a Manny fight for Floyd would be tough. Manny is hard hitting and intense in his attack. Floyd doesn’t get hit clean by too many combinations but Manny would certainly put more than enough pressure on him. I imagine even with a loss to Rios if Manny did well enough people would still want the Floyd fight to happen. Manny struggled with Marquez so styles do make fights. I have no idea what would happen.

Posted August 12, 2013 7:23 pm

…sorry Manny Armstrong, the train already left the station!!

Posted August 12, 2013 7:01 pm

The Mayweathers, like Cus D’Amato, believe in SPEEED for sure but most of all, they believe TIMING is key first. Timing beats Speed. Tszyu thought the same. Tszyu was faster in his youth but as he aged he declined in speed. However, he believed his timing was still top notch to beat the 140 pound peak speedy version of Judah and he was right. There are many examples the Mayweathers list off where TIMING beats Speed.

The JMM fights have to be put into notice because it shows Pac’s own vulnerability to counter punchers.

What other southpawas gave Floyd problems other than Judah for the first few rounds?

Corley rocked him but that was it for the whole fight. He had one round of glory basically.

So Basically, Pac just said that he want someone that will be in front of him and that is easy to hit. LOL Somebody that Don’t have good foot movement, so he can look good against, so he can start claiming a 50 50 split with Mayweather. LOL

Posted August 12, 2013 6:57 pm

Manny vs Floyd will always have plenty of electricity. They both missed a chance to break all boxing records had they fought when both were on a collision course towards each other and in their prime. Today, Manny Pacquiao still has enough left in him to destroy Floyd Mayweather. The key is speed. Ped Man Marquez even admitted that Manny had the faster hands. As all fights are, it’s all about styles. Manny’s unique style of aggressive fighting is hard to figure out in one fight. The fight, if it ever happens will not be a Marquez vs Pacquiao stylistic fight. Manny is a sharp, speedy, agile, fast feinting power machine that has the best feet in boxing. Floyd will be having fits all night. Judah and other southpaws gave Floyd plenty of problems, but they ran out of gas. Manny has plenty of gas and has been anticipating this fight for years. You’re talking about the greatest fighter in boxing history. 8 division titles, unequaled power and speed, hurts you when he hits you (Oscar, Hatton, Marquez, Barrera, Morales and others). He will have plenty to offer Floyd Mayweather if they fight within a year. Manny Pacquiao by stunning KO before round 6. Trust me on this.

The fight didn’t happen for two reasons: Drug testing and Money.

Pac should have agreed the first time around. If he was ever serious about it, he would have did the FULL test with or without Floyd to show Floyd is just using it as an excuse but he never did.

Money: That was agreed upon at one time but things change depending on what you are worth when you are offering it. Just like the testing negotiations were thrown out so was the money agreement.

I have no idea why Pac thought he could be offered something at one point, not agree to it, let time go by, and then expect it to be the same despite him being given a deadline on the deal. Business doesn’t work like that in every situation. Your deal now is not the deal later necessarily.

Floyd made problems with asking for additional testing. He could have just fought Pac as is if he was that confident. but I don’t blame him either since it is his life, his fight and legacy, and his career. I would have done the same because you are losing to much. It’s not like you are in a desperate situation like other opponents are.

Money: Independent arbitrator was the best request I heard from Richard. They should have gone with that. Arum wasn’t having it.

Also, Floyd’s latest deal is complete b.s. if true.

Now if Floyd agreed to face Pac now, I would agree that Floyd is truly in a position to get the bigger percentage as well as full drug testing protocol which Pac doesn’t have a problem with now it seems.

However, the best bet for Pac is to knockout out Rios, get a rematch and knockout out JMM and then get the fight done with Floyd.

PAC did not want to fight Mayweather before the election in fear of losing and losing the election. Its jus that simple. That why he fought Clottey. Who didn’t punch at all during the fight, and when he did he connect. AND we haven’t seen or heard from Clottey since then. From what I here, Bob Arum paid Clottey extra AFTER the fight for his good efforts. LOL REALLY?

Posted August 12, 2013 6:52 pm

REM sounds good, BUT how do you know that. MAYWEATHER tried to make the fight with BOB ARUM years ago. and you notice I didnt say PAC, because as he always say, its up to my promoter. HERE IS A QESTION for you PACMAN. What up with the test on RIOS. When Mayweather ask you to agree to blood test with no cut-off you said that you were scared of needle. AND YOU said the you were only going to do what the Boxing Commision require you to do. WELLLL since when you became a member of the BOXING COMMISON. PAC said that the Boxing commision testing was good enough. LMAO!

If Floyd wanted, he could use the Buster Douglas strategy on Pac.

Fight on your toes, move, fight behind the Jab as the main weapon. Sr. prefers this over Roger. With Roger, Floyd makes fights more competitive than they should be.
Floyd’s reach is long enough to prevent Pac from doing a lot. Stop him in his tracks. While using the Jab, you can throw the right as he comes in. And, you have the option of jumping back while throwing the Jab before and after your combinations.

So for example: Floyd throws the Jab, Pac rushes in and Floyd is able to jump back and counter with the right hand. He can also throw his own combinations and shuffle back while popping the Jab. The Reach, Speed, Timing, and Movement is all key in Floyd beating Pac.

Pac’s advantage that many other opponents didn’t have is the combination of overall speed and power as well as his unorthodox ability to throw punches from different angles…even when off balance. He can catch you when you least expect it.

Posted August 12, 2013 6:42 pm

Floyd alters his style for left-hand fighters.

And Shane landed the right after throwing the left to the body. And Castillo landed a huge right hand while FLoyd was on the ropes. I mean huge. You could hear the impact it was so clean.

Good fighters are able to land shots occasionally on Floyd.

But how often can they repeat it?

The fight didn’t happen for many reasons.

Let’s not act like Pac doesn’t have problems of his own against counter punchers. Add in that Floyd despite his overall athletic decline, FLoyd has hidden some reserves of agility that Sr. brought back. Just like Sr. brought back that Jab for the JMM fight. And once Sr. was gone, you saw Floyd revert back to the Roger style. He needs Sr. to stay in his ear even if he is just as a gym presents.

Posted August 12, 2013 6:35 pm

Junio the left shoots on the opposite side of Floyds left shoulder that’s why Judah and Corely landed hard headshots while Oscar and Cotto landed the jab. Floyd won’t have his shoulder roll defense for Pac that’s the only reason this fight hasn’t happened. That’s also the reason he wouldn’t fight Martinez at 150 even though he fought Oscar, Cotto and now Canelo at jmw. Floyd can still beat Pac using the straight right, his great sense of range and lateral movement but he won’t have his signature defense to fall back on and that’s a risk he’s not willing to take.

Squared-Circle Real Talk:

Agree except the last part with Floyd ducking Pac. Fans from both sides need to understand it was a mutual failure that this fight did not get done.

And if Pac beats Rios, especially by Hatton style KO, he might want to first get that JMM rematch going on. And if he KO”s JMM this time around, I think it would help throw him back into the financial picture because people will just see that KO loss as something that happens and that you can recover.

I also agree that Pac was looking good in that fight. I was surprised. He didn’t look quite as powerful but his speed from head to toe was back and he had that spark again. He had JMM hurt bad but JMM gutted it out and pulled out a KO victory in the end. That’s something special about fighting…

Had he fought someone better I would respect this fight, Rios never fought at 147 the power might not be here

Posted August 12, 2013 5:59 pm

Fighter’s should be focusing on their task on hand. Though I expect Pac to beat Rios, he should wait until after the fight to talk about any future fights.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

Anyone who knows anything about boxing, knows that PacMan was ROBBED vs. Bradley. It’s even being considered one of the worst robberies in history.
So, in reality Pac is NOT on a two fight losing streak.

And in actuality, he was outboxing JMM in their last fight before he got caught with that shot he never saw coming.

If PacMan beats Rios in impressive fashion and makes him look bad — especially winning by stoppage — FMJ better finally agree to fight Manny, because he’s been ducking him for years. Quack, Quack!

Posted August 12, 2013 5:47 pm

Judah had more than one round of success and stunned him a bit. Corley did have one round of successs and hurt him bad. He must have trouble with Southpaws.

But wait…

People also like to point out that he had a tough fight with Castillo in their first fight and feel Castillo beat Floyd. And some feel Oscar troubled Floyd before he tired. And Mosley rocked Floyd two or three times in one round. And then Cotto was roughing him up.

So is it Southpaws or Orthodox fighters that he has trouble with?

Maybe this is just boxing and different fighters give you different looks and they all can be troublesome. But of course, Floyd adjusted to each one and went on to dominate them for the exception of Castillo in their first fight.

People just like to repeat what they hear from others that sound good enough to take away from the fighter they do not like.

How many people say that Mike Tyson (even in his peak 80’s years) had trouble with Tall fighters…as well as those with a Jab?
Do they realize that everyone was taller than Tyson?
Do they realize that Tyson was great during those years with not only avoiding the Jab (which Atlas even says) but also is able to time and land his own. he did it with Green, Biggs, and Tucker who are all 6’5, agile, long reach, and have decent Jabs.

With Pacs iconic status in boxing Floyd will never escape his giant shadow. Dudes hoping Bum Bums gonna finish Pac off try again. Bum Bum is gonna catch the beating of his life for mocking Roach the same way Pac punished Margo for using them wraps. Bum Bum fans better have their rosary beads with them come 11/23. Poor Pac he must think he’s challenging a fighter in Floyd smh.

Sounds like someone is counting their chickens before they have hatched. Manny better take care of business first. He has a pretty serious task ahead of him.

PLEASE….STOPPPPPP! The desperation is so blatant is disgusting. Somebody tell Pacman to be more prideful!

Posted August 12, 2013 4:04 pm

Once again how can anyone say he has trouble fighting southpaws when he has beaten all of them and only one of them had more than 1 round of success. He had about 2. Don’t really understand it

Fighting words Ortiz in the mayweather fight are you on drugs lol if so pass that

Posted August 12, 2013 3:45 pm

Fighting Words

Pacquiao and Mayweather still can be a hugh PPV draw, Mayweather at his age does not want to fight an aggressive South Paw like Pacquiao. We see the trouble Mayweather has with South Paw when he fought Ortiz and Jada, both fighters were well in the fight, they were not being dominated by Mayweather, add twice the heat that Pacquiao bring to the fight, Mayweather would be in for a long night.
I can see the fight with Canelo ending in a drawn and the second fight PPV number would go through the roof possible the 3 million mark and then Maywether would fight Pacquiao for his last fight on the contract sending the PPV number again through the roof with 3 million buys espeical if Pacquiao stops Rios in China winning a big fan base of over a billion people, which translates in to more money more money more money. In Mayweather own words, dollars make sense.

Yeah the fight would of never taken place. Freddy would not of allowed him to fight someone as big as Canelo. And lets not forget the Golden Boy vs Top Rank feud. To many variables for the fight not to happen.

I now see that Manny is dying for money! WOW!

JUNIO…FAIR POINT….We have been FKed in the A…LOL

Posted August 12, 2013 1:56 pm

I would avoid paying for the PPV fight and it will not be as big as it once was. The only way it could raise near to that level is if Pac fights another fight with JMM after Rios and knocks both of them out.

If you want to watch it watch it. But I just won’t buy it because FK the both of them for not making it when they should. Why would I make them even richer still?

If there fight doesn’t do well it could serve as a lesson to not screw the fans. Remember, they are paid millions because the Fans are willing to pay them millions.

TJ, actually, I was thinking the same thing. But I don’t think Freddy would even let an Alverez fight take place for Pacquiao.

Posted August 12, 2013 1:23 pm

No lie…..If they, Floyd and Manny, said YES to the fight WE ALL WOULD STILL BUY THE PPV..
I hate it that it never took place but still I would be right under the TV for this fight as we all would be that night.

LET’S PRETEND THAT MANNY PACQUIAO did not fight and lose to DINAMITA by KO last year….

LET’S also forget that SAUL CANELO is facing FLOYD MAYWEATHER on September 17th….

Now, how would people view a match between SAUL CANELO ALVAREZ vs MANNY PACQUIAO if this was the showdown on September 17th?????

SURELY, this would have been the biggest fight on the horizon if the planets had not organised themselves so spectacularly and unfavourably for MANNY????

Right now he’s damaged goods and this will never happen, BUT what if?

I don’t think I’ve read anyone put these two up before in a DREAMFIGHT scenario?

Got to win some fights. You are working on a 2 fight losing streak that should really be 3. Though I thought he beat Bradley he definely should of lost to Marquez in the 3rd fight. But unfortunately that shop has sailed. Should of agreed to fight back in 2010

Manny* is vulnerable to uppercuts and they happen to be a Rios specialty. if he’s able to impose his size and strength and push Manny* into and along the ropes, the odds immediately swing in favor of Rios winning by TKO. it’ll still be a good fight if Pacquiao* is actually able to replicate his Margarito fight-plan but I seriously doubt it. Rios is forewarned and will be prepared with at least a couple of fight-plans to force Pacquiao* into a toe-to-toe brawl.

Pacquiao is still more dangerous for Floyd than any other fighter he’s ever faced.

Pacquaio looked awesome against Marquez until he walked on to that bomb. This fight STILL sells and sells big, it is still the fight, Manny is nowhere near done yet, he is made for Rios who will be game but will get battered and then stopped while putting up a tremendous effort, that hopefully the Mayweather fight can be made…………it still sells……..even if if would be 4 years too late.

I still remember, like it was yesterday, the way Manny reacted to the PED test request. How offended he was, “what me”? No way.. From there it transistioned into weak excuses from he and his team. That was hardly what one would expect from a fighter on the up and up. But who knows. Manny may be a little behind the times, but even he know wants those same tests, that he was so offended over in the past. Could that be Karma?

J. Marquez sent an atomic shockwave into that gigantic skull….
That big head is now multi-fractured….

Remember, Marquez put him on the ground twice… Sorry once…

Maybe Manny realizes that the end is near, so he just might really want this fight now. But I doubt that’ll be the case, I don’t think he’ll ever agreee to Mayweather’s terms. There will always be some road block between these two.
