An in shape Boytsov would give K-pul all he could handle and maybe then some.

Hopefully the WBC/A/O/IBF isn’t reading the posts below… This talk of an additional divisions might, unfortunately, spark an idea for yet another venue for them to suck $$$ from fighters. Creating new divisions mean more sanctioning fees.

Someone like Boytsov can become HW champion.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. The Lion King of Beat Street)

Boytsov has some serious talent. It’s just too bad that he’s had so many problems with “fragile hands” and other injuries.

I was really hoping to see this guy fight some BIG names by this point.

Gaz you make a good point – mainly that much of this calling for a SHW division is just K bro hate.

However HWs are getting bigger. There’s much more talent among 6’5+” type HWs than in the past. The new standard for a HW champ is LL and the K bros.

Sure, some 6’1-2″ tank like HW might win one of the HW straps (especially vs an old HW champ), but I doubt they could dominate in this era.

Many decades ago most top HWs would be CWs or very small HWs today… from Dempsey to Ali and everyone in between. They would stand little to no chance vs skilled big men like LL, K bros, etc.

I could add Haye is a huge favourite to defeat 6’9″ Tyson Fury for good reason. How many times was 6’6″ Olympic gold medalist Audley Harrison defeated by shorter guys? Did the 6’6″ height advantage that Ray Austen had over 6’1″ Solis or 6’2″ Bermane Stiverne help him?? Absolutely not! He was KTFO by Stiverne and trailing on the cards against Solis before the DQ. No, it’s only the sad Klitschko haters who call for a “new division” because they can’t comprehend that it’s actually the SKILLS of the brothers that’s defeating all these guys, NOT the size. Again I ask this Cagiva9 individual: WHY are you calling for a new division? WHAT fighters above 6’5″ (outside of the Klitsckos) are proving so unbeatable??

Should be ; ten years or so … sorry

Gaz ; Great post , you hit the nail right on the head . The mental midgets who ran out of reasons and excuses why their choices ( whoever they are ) have had no luck whatsoever against the K-Brothers , are now grasping at straws with comments about Vitaly’s ” steroid use ” and references to their size . For the last the years or so , that’s all they got !

Fight Aficionado

Is the bankruptcy of Universum Box-Promotion why Boytsov has hardly fought in the past two years? He was one of my top prospects/contenders until injury and inactivity derailed his career. Hope he gets busy.

It’s the problem with the HW division “FANS” today, like this idiot Cagiva9 below. Guys like this clown are totally ill informed yet sprout nonsense as if they actually know what they’re talking about. You are basically implying that cause of the Klitschkos size alone there should be ANOTHER division created? It mightn’t have anything to do with how TALENTED they are as to why they’re so dominant, no? So no heavy below 6’3″ stands a chance with a fighter 6’5″ plus, no? What about 6’1 Chambers schooling 6’7″ Dimitrenko? 6’3″ Haye overcoming 7′ Monster Valuev (arguably add Donald, Ruiz, and Holyfield to that list) And Chagaev also beat the giant. 6’1″ Peter KOing 7′ Long and nearly having Wlad himself out of there the first fight? Ibragomov destroying 6’7″ Whitiker. Adamek beating up 6’6″ Grant. All just off my head. So remind me again why we need another division? Does EVERY fighter below 6’3 have next to no chance against the 6’6″ plus athletes, or only against the Klitschkos?? What other 6’5″ fighters are proving to be so unbeatable that it’s simply so unfair to the below 6’3″ “midgets” that another division should be created? smfh

Cagiva9

It’s the problem with the HW division today. Asking Boytsov to step up and fight a 250 lb Klitschko would be like asking Floyd to fight 168 lb Ward. There should be a ~220-225 lb title established. This wouldn’t keep smaller fighters from challenging the giants of course, as there are no minimum weights in boxing,

BASBOXX1 – So Vitaly has an American trainer too then?

Who cares about this guy? No power, unwilling to step up just like Povetkin who is about to get annihilated.

boytsov got out foxed by scott. he would be an interesting fight for adamek.

I use to really rate this guy, however lost all respect because he never steps up to the next level

TARK

It was refreshing to see the fight… But not the ending… A good fight ruined by a partisan referees’ call when Scott was up before 10.

Pat Mustard

Needs to up his competition. There’s so many up and coming guys in the top 20 who avoid each other, it was refreshing to see Chisora-Scott a couple of weeks ago.

They shouldn’t have given this guy a custom made toilet seat. Especially the one with the cushions!

the problem with all these guys – well one problem – is size. this guy is 6’1 and 220. there is no way he can give up 20 pounds and 5 or 6 inches and still win. klits are good but are also too big

Levitiko

Would love to see Boytsov against another underachiever such as Nino Rodriguez. That match would be so close you could flip a coin.

Denis needs to start meeting better opponents and now he’s with Sauerland, he should be looking to keep busy, maybe capture the EBU belt for a start and build momentum for a world title shot. Couldn’t see him beating a Wlad Klitschko in the near future though.

He’s about as active as Oleg Platov.

What happened to this guy? Doesn’t matter I guess. If he makes a run, a K-Bro would smack him back down.

BASBOXX1

I HAVE STUDIED THIS YOUNG MAN’S CAREER AND HE SEEMS TO HAVE “SOME” OF THE TOOLS THAT WOULD ALLOW HIM TO BE (ONE) OF THE FRONT RUNNERS TO COMPETE FOR THE WORLD TITLE ! HAVING SAID THIS, MY BELIEF IS THAT HE TOO WILL HAVE TO DO WHAT WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO AND ALEXANDER POVETKIN HAS DONE TO IMPROVE HIS STLYE OF BOXING !…….. ( GET AN AMERICAN TRAINER ) THE EUROPEAN STYLE WITH THE AMERICAN INFLUENCE WILL SOON BECOME THE NEW NORM !
