Turbo I agree with all you saying and add that Fury also gots the legs and feet work that propel him around the ring and the stamina to go with dat. I think Fury is going to retire Haye by way of KO and a messy one at that.

Posted July 28, 2013 5:56 pm

Fury can be more disciplined when he so chooses, he was against Kevin Johnson.

And he actually boxed quite well out of the Southpaw stance vs Rogan I think it was.

Added to that he actually seems to like fighting, and ups his game after taking a good shot, rather than letting it put him in his shell.

And he is only what 24 or so, meaning his is always learning and maturing physically.

So he does have the ingredients there.

But for this fight I think Haye will find him too easy a target, and Fury’s personality will play into Hayes hands.

Haye is playing a game when he opens his mouth, and when he boxes – he wants his opponent to lose control, and I think Fury will oblige him.

K-2: thanks buddy.
Turbo: great post! I agree that Fury can be very sloppy like in the Cunningham fight. He put his hands down to clown and he got caught with an over hand right. I don’t think he’ll be doing that in this fight. I think he wins but am not confident enough to back it up with any money.

Ah come on anonymous, just because I engage in repeated, unprovoked, personal attacks on you and others doesn`t mean we can`t be friends.

I`ll talk to my PA and see if she can have HR create a space for you down on the 7th tier level of amiable aquaintances.

Anyway with regards to size, I think we need to consider this in conjunction with the other attributes that opponents bring.

Valuev, aside from being massive, had “a head like a volvo”, and Haye simply couldn`t realistically hurt him. He wobbled him in the 12th I know, but fundamentally Valuevs great weakness was speed and lack of mobility so that is what Haye exploited.

Onto Wlad, and it isn`t simply that Wlad is big, it is that he is so good technically, physically AND he is big. The only weakpoint Haye might have picked with Wlad, is to goad him into being less calculated and hope that creates opportunities to counter. This didn`t work because Wlad is not stupid. When the fight was in close Wlad held, if it was at Wlads range Wlad was punching, and just out of Wlads range Haye was feinting and waiting for an opportunity to lunge in. They both denied eachother the chance to do anything truly effective.

Fury, well Fury just doesn`t have the chin of a Valuev, or the footwork, power, technical ability, or mentality of Wlad.
The KO threat isn`t there with Fury that will deter Haye from concentrating more on staying in range and talking the opportunities.
Even with the clinching and leaning, up close Haye loves a rabbit punch to discourage that. Wlad is an octopus and stopped that from Haye, Fury isn`t.

This isn`t to discount that Fury has a lot of things going for him, it is just that there are times he is mindbendingly sloppy, and do that vs Haye you are eating big big shots.

This will be a tough fight for Diver Haye because he does not fight well against much larger/taller opponents. He struggled mightily and recieved a gift decision against Valuev ( the gift of the decade) and fought like a frightened rabbit against Wlad. If Tyson fights the way he did against Chisora (i.e. a high workrate with lots of volume punching off of the jab) and leans on Diver, he will tire him and stop him.

Posted July 25, 2013 11:30 am

Haye is without any doubt the 3rd (maybe even the 2nd) best heavy in the world, in any era that is going to be too much for a 24 year old who is not yet at his peak in terms of experience, strengt, skills and physique. 100% respect to Fury though, he is EASILY the best young heavy out there, not a single guy under 26 currently active has faced his level of comp and won. Doesnt matter if people like these guys, but Haye is only bettered by Wlad, and ”’Maybe” Vitali, and Fury is the best ”young” heavy out there by a long shot. His time will come, but not against Haye right now.

Speaking of another heavyweight contender here – There have been little words on George “Monk” Foreman III, son of legendary “Big” George Foreman in recent months. He is trained and managed by Foreman himself and have not been in the profesional ring sence December 6, 2012. A contest held in Mexico that “Monk” won by a 3rd round TKO against unranked David Ferraez. His record now stands 16-0-0 KO’s 15 with 9 of them in 1st round and the rest have been inside 3 rounds. So all that says that the half he haves in his tank is enough power to could have been a major force in the heavyweight division with his 196cm in height and punchpower. He needs to be back in the ring for more matches and more ring expearence. Haven’t fought in over 8 months is bad for a rookie.

Posted July 25, 2013 10:27 am

Haye will beat Fury, Fury is not Wladimir Klitschko, Klitschko is very tall and a great athlete for his size, which is why he could compete with a fast David Haye and avoid the Haye punches, Fury will get knocked out.

Posted July 25, 2013 10:16 am

How can anyone think Haye has any talent? I first heard about him when he was known as the boxer who hit himself with an uppercut and saw it for real on Youtube. Then I saw a picture of him as a tall newbie kid at the K-bros gym with a picture of him, Emmanuel steward, Andy Lee, and Wladimir. Then a few years later, he’s British biggest boxing idol . Is he even a Brit? If Cunningham had any stamina, he would have finished this big lug off after the first knock down. Then trhe big lug grabs, leans and hold for his dear life. And the way he grabbed and having said he could beat the UFC HW champion in a cage, I seriously doubt it with his poor foot balance and lack of hugging skills. I can’t believe it but I’m rooting for Haye to KO this big lug and have Britain find another staute to worship.

Yes and that was a funny story, albeit a short one. Happy now? If you want to be technical i didnt say ”storys” either as you said in your other post. I said stories. No need to pick bones. My spelling is also often poor, would you like to pull me on that too?

You’ve said his writing is full of good and whitty facts, opinions, and stories.

Both Fury and Haye are nothing but salesmen and neither guy has a chance with WK and a very slim chance against VK.

Posted July 25, 2013 9:03 am

Say what you want about Haye, yes he can be annoying, but he can box/fight period! He is slick. His tactics are simply to wait for an opportunity and then pounce especially with taller big fighters. And when he gets you hurt its all she wrote. Example:(Ruiz, Chirosa, Valuev. I dont think that Fury has been in fight with a SMART fighter and Haye is smart. If he gets in the type of trouble he did vs cunnigham, Haye will put him away. Dont confuse charecter with skills. Haye annoyinhg at times yes, skilled boxer HELL YES. Fury is not a very good boxer and Haye will exploit that.

I`d heard when the police broke into your apartment after you were reported missing that they found you unconscious, hunched over a photo of Wlad that had a 17 inch thick layer of old spunk on it.

That would hurt anyone, you should be sure to hydrate properly when you settle in for a 189 hour non stop snake strangling session over one of the Bros.

Tony Thompson doesn`t have to apologise for anything. In fact I`ve decide Tony Thompson must be British.

Posted July 25, 2013 4:12 am

I like both these guys. Haye, very good fighter, skilled, heavy hand, dangerous, clever. He struggles against bigger guys. Who doesnt. Fury, undisciplined patty pat puncher boisterous funny resilient some good lines on the improve but sadly just not that good. Im looking forward to it and if haye cant put him away his career will suddenly be under a shadow. If fury loses well hell still be singing a song to someone. Oh. I am not british.

I think Fury is going to push Mr. Haye around and make him look bad by getting him off balance and launching haymakers that miss. Fury will bully him like he learned he must do with USS. If Fury fights big he will defeat Haye. Fury has very good stamina, very good foot work and good legs to maneuver around the ring and avoid Haye, then move in and bully him. Might be an awkward and messy fight, but Fury will take Haye to the cleaners. Haye has the Fear of Fury in him, that is why he is smack talking. He just may get biatch slapped like the USS Cruiser did. After all, Haye is a legit Cruiser also. Haye gets retired in this one and Fury moves on to face Wladimir.

Posted July 24, 2013 8:48 pm

I’m being deleted from this blog but I’ll repeat, Fury will knock himself out with his great left uppercut.

Posted July 24, 2013 7:23 pm

I’m hoping Fury does his great upper cut to own chin before Haye gets to him. Then Fury could scream and shout that Haye never knocked him out.

personally have no desire to see haye vs either klitchko. haye being a professional athlete and supposed warrior should have retired right after the last klit fight. Anyone who would let a big toe ruin their title fight should never be given another title shot period. we have pro’s that will and have fought a fight with a broken hand and this clown gonna put his performance on his toe? cant support or understand why anyone would support this guy? talk like a fighter and act like a btch. hope fury ends this clowns career as it should already be over.

Fury does have a nervous disposition about him when it comes to press confrences but it does’nt seem to affect when he gets in the ring. Fury is trying his best to look relaxed but he knows this is a serious test and that’s a good thing because he’s going to need to be at his best to beat Haye.

Posted July 24, 2013 9:14 am

Haye – too sharp, too fast. Fury – too slow, too timid.

can’t wait until anthony joshua gets into this mix.

Posted July 24, 2013 6:58 am

i think haye is a big favorite, but fury knows what he needs to do. he has to push haye, get through the first 6 rounds, and haye will wear out….he fights in spurts because he poor recovery. he is all fast twitch muscle. vlad keep letting him recover, but vlad is fast and strong enough to outbox him. fury knows he has to throw lots of punches, push him, and make him gas out. haye has been close to gassing in several of his heavyweight wins, including the fight with chisora…..

Posted July 24, 2013 2:21 am

If you take the various biases out of the analysis then this could be an interesting fight5. Haye, as much as many, including me, dislike him for his klit display and mouth, is a pretty fair boxer. Fury has been dropped but got up and won. His level of competition has been improving although Haye is a large step up. Fury has a real size advantage. Weighing up the merits of both I suspect haye will win but…..this looks a fairly close one for mine. Haye by KO? Fury by KO? Fury on points….dunno. But it has yet to happen and plenty of ducking in the backgrounds of both fighters….

Toe Jam is going to be roughed up and tossed around and will be off his game and off balance cause the big guy is going to push him around. And Haye is the nervous guy and a bull sheeter, and flapping his jaw is very indicative of his fear of Fury. Fury is going to slap Haye around into a TKO.

Posted July 23, 2013 6:32 pm

Haye is going to pneumatically face r@pe Fury.

Fury’s shattered teeth and going to be spread across 12 continents, which as the more educated amongst you will realise, is some feat seeing as there aren`t that many on Earth.

Posted July 23, 2013 6:13 pm

Haye is a good skilled fighter overall,no matter how much people hate him.Fury I give alot of respect to for taking this fight at 24yrs old.Fury could have fought lesser fighters for the next few years, but stepped up.Now even with Fury loseing its not the end of the world,he will learn alot from this and still have 10 or more good years ahead of him. This is a good example of what young fighters should be doing, learning and moving up the ladder. Not fighting club fighters untill you are 30-33yrs old then take a beating in your first test,as a old man(in boxing terms)

Last fight was very close and he doesn’t have Emanual in his corner. Vitaly is gone.

I watched a lot of cunningham fights, even small cruiser weights he can not floor, even when hitting them with tons of punches. He floored Fury hard, and hurt him in the next round, but the size and weight difference were just too much for cunningham. Another thing is the fact that cunningham was very slow with his hands and on his feet. Haye is stronger, faster and punch way harder than cunningham and fury. that hysterical way he,fury, was getting on shows he is really nervous. Haye will knock this guy out in the first 3 rounds.

Posted July 23, 2013 1:10 pm

Haye just doesn’t take risks and therfor has trouble getting close enough to the big guys. But he wobbled Valuev and had Vlad clinching for his life when one of his punches finally connected. Fury has neither the skills or the power to intimidate Haye and will have to take a lot of punishment, regardless of who wins.

i still question how good haye is at punching upwards. he needed to Box Valuev and he found it v hard to land on wlad. i know fury is no wlad at all, but im saying the question that looms is can haye land as well punching upwards? fury has power thats for sure and haye has a doubtful chin… looking forward to this one and I think it will only be easy for haye if he goes looking for an early KO which is where my money is

That is plain BS. I saw their encounter on Ringside and Fury looked as relaxed as he could ever be. It’s Haye who is the nervous guy…Fury’s verbal skills are out of Haye’s league and David knows it. Fury will be the funnier and more outspoken guy. Still think Haye will come victorious but he won’t be comfortable playing the second fiddle in this fight’s promotion.
