Saturday night September 8 and there were at least five (5) different great or good fights set-up with lots of knockout potential. There was Adamek vs. Walker, Klitschko vs. Charr, DeMarco vs. Molina, Ward vs. Dawson … and in my opinion, this fight Matthysse vs. Ajose was the best fight of the night. Ajose was tough, gritty, competitive. He showed both skill and heart and guts. Matthysse showed a good chin against good hard shots that Ajose was throwing. Matthysse and his big hands and big punches proved too much. But it was a great fight through 10 rounds. Ajose should get more opportunities at the elite level. And Matthysse may prove to be a star in the making. Fighters like Matthysse are the most important and valuable product boxing has to offer. Big punchers. Knockouts. Excitement. I hope we see more.

Tomato Can

Most fighters get even better after winning their first belt. The thought of hard hitting Matthysse getting better, should be exciting for most boxing fnas.
