This is easily Andre Ward’s best performance…congratulations to Ward…he could be the pound for pound best fighter in the world after this fight.

Chad looked strong at the weigh-in so the weigh like he said was no problem Ward you’re in trouble

Possibly, FA…I picked one scenario from the keys to victory to make my prediction for the fight…it’s a toss up fight for both men… but, you’re assuming that Ward’s timing is still there after the extended lay-off. I’m not so sure he’ll be as sharp as he was when he faced Carl Froch…if I were Ward’s manager, I would have insisted that he take a tune up before facing an elite level fighter who’s been active like Dawson. If Ward’s timing is still there, then he should win…but if he shows some ring rust, he could be in trouble.

“Dawson should appear to be the stronger and more aggressive fighter for the majority of contest. This should prove to be enough to hand Ward his first professional loss.” – Doubt it. Dawson is just not an aggressive fighter by nature and to steal rounds from Ward — whose specialty is banking rounds and throwing off the opponent’s rhythm — he’d have to come out hard. He’s just not that type of fighter. I don’t expect “high drama” either, since neither guy is a puncher and Ward can adjust to anything Dawson tries to do. This is a clearcut UD Ward without fireworks.

Da UnKnown Comic

The showtime card starts at 9. Undercard bouts on showtime extreme started at 7. All times eastern. The Ward vs. Malcolm X card starts at 9:45 with a fight between John Molina and Demarco as the one fight before the main event. Capish?

I’m not sure if the Vitali fight will air after the main event or before…because it’s in Oakland, I would be willing to bet that it will be shown in this manner: Vitali vs. Charr, DeMarco vs. Molina, and Ward vs. Dawson…so don’t expect the main event to arrive before 11:30PM EST

Posted September 8, 2012 7:31 pm

Please can someone tell me what time does the MAIN EVENT start. I heard its 9h45 is the start time but isnt there an undercard before the main event like normal boxing match?

my the best fighter win i think it could go either way

Very well could play out like you envision, Jerome…I’m just worried about Ward’s inactivity…I would have liked to have seen him take a tune up before taking on an active, elite level fighter like Dawson…but credit to Andre for stepping in the ring with the best, time and time again. That’s what makes him so special!! Enjoy the fights, brother!!

To all — I’ve read Dawson looks very good at 168 — not weight drained, at all. As for the fight, I think many are underestimating Dawson. (Remember: not long ago Floyd said Dawson was one of the most talented fighters out there.) I think Dawson fights best when he has to rise to the challenge — against lesser opponents he only does enough to win. Saying that, it’s hard to bet against Ward; however, against my better judgement I think Dawson wins this one by slimmest of margins — 115-113 Dawson.

Yesterday the two fighters weighed in at exactly 168, but I haven’t heard anything regarding the same day weight.

Mikey…is it the analysis that you disagree with or the prediction? If it’s the prediction, well that’s no reason to criticize my observations. Fact is, no one knows what will happen tonight…this is a pick em fight and should be a damn good one!! Enjoy the fights and lighten up, brother!!

I think we are in for a good fight and credit to both guys for taking it. Andre Ward is very hard to hit clean. I think if Dawson has trained properly he is very capable of winning, but he could be weight drained. Good Day Sir

any one got/seen the weights?

This crazy nonsense analytical mess of an article shows why the world of boxing lacks what the past boxing writers posses. I hope you hide your face in shame right after this.
