Carl Froch ; is he that ugly , bug eyed dude that looks like Marty Feldman’s
Price will win guys. I would bet my house on it. He underestimated old Tiger the first time, even had his hands low in the first round and just let the jab hang out there. This will not happen again. He will box behind a stiff jab and only throw a power shot when Tony is off balance. He will outbox Thompson for five or so rounds before KOing him. It will be similar to Wlad vs Pianetta. Figures crossed.Posted June 12, 2013 4:34 am
There was a point in the first fight though where Price threw a patented Carl Froch uppercut from the outside. That streetfighter II style, dragon fireball $h1t from 6ft away that will decaptitate people when it lands, but actually you just miss and end up getting electrocuted by that green monster thing.
Carl Froch can throw that stuff because he has the patented Carl Froch MkII Titanium Jaw insert, while Price does not.
I hope Price is more measured in the next fight, but the fact is Thompson is virtually the same size and knows he can KO price, so poncing about on the outside isn`t going to cut it.
Thompson is talented enough, but Wlads power put him straight back into sparring partner mode, and Price has to land something smart enough to do the same early enough in the fight that he establishes control.Posted June 12, 2013 1:07 am
I am not sure what fight “Rod” watch, as I did not see Price coming out aggressively in the first fight. I saw cautious fighters poking each other until Thompson landed a decent punch on Prices neck.Posted June 11, 2013 9:36 pm
Price should comeback strong and outclass Thompson. If it’s a shakey decision win, he should just take it and move on. Tony can still argue for bigger fights down the line. Price’s team underestimated Thompson thinking he was on the level of Kevin “The Pigpen” Johnson.Posted June 11, 2013 6:22 pm
I have never seen someone with weak punch resistance develop decent punch resistance later on.
After hagler ko’ed hearns, hearns chin was glass the rest of his career.
Wladimir’s chin is still glass.
Thompson should not be as fat and out of shape as he was last time.
Price will have to stick the jab, keep his distance, and tie thompson up on the inside.Posted June 11, 2013 6:13 pm
Props to Price for doing the rematch right away. Though all credit must be given to Thompson for his win, I think their first bout was a fluke KO. So Price should win the rematch. Now if his confidence is shot that could change things.Posted June 11, 2013 5:14 pm
No amount of working with Lennox Lewis is going to improve Price’s fragile chin, but if he’s learned to focus more on not leaving himself wide open to Thompson’s power shots this time around, who knows. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. I wish him well.Posted June 11, 2013 2:45 pm
the price is wrong
pricey thinking it will be diffrent this time .you will walk alone ladPosted June 11, 2013 12:20 pm
Despite the early exit last time, I think Price’s best chance is early on. Thompson is strong and awkward and usually wears people down. The one punch ending was not typical of Tony Thompson.Posted June 11, 2013 10:31 am
FAKE SREDMOND, you’re a stupid little boy.Posted June 11, 2013 9:58 am
If Price gets sparked out again, he wont be more then a gatekeeper for the rest of his days.Posted June 11, 2013 9:33 am
Lennox never solve the Vitali problem… no he just F*&Ked UP his face… problem solved!!Posted June 11, 2013 8:37 am
Lennox never solve the Vitali problem…Posted June 11, 2013 8:12 am
Here’s an idea: ask Lennox to step into the ring instead of Price, so that he can mop the floor with Thompson. After that, Lennox should solve the Klitschko problem.Posted June 11, 2013 7:54 am
I RESPECT TONY THOMPSON VERY MUCH. AND DO RESPECT PRICE TOO. THEY BOTH ARE VERY DECENT MEN. And. I’m rooting for Tony the tiger! Do it again man! And this time, prepare your body accordingly! CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS FIGHT!…ps. tyson “big vag ina” fury sucks!Posted June 11, 2013 7:45 am
Price has all the physical advantages combined with skill and lost because he faced a good heavyweight with a ton of experience and went for an early KO. This time round he will be more cautious, would leave the jab hanging out their, will have his hands up, will not try to make a statement and go for an early KO and would have learned alot from the great Lennox. His defeat will be an asset in years to come. He will beat Thompson by mid/late KO and box perfectly. He is fully prepared and will be more respected tha Tyson “I’m scared of Pulev” Fury. At least Price has gone toe to toe with Pulev for several rounds when they sparred together.Posted June 11, 2013 6:52 am
I hope, Lennox was successful…he said he will teaching Price to be mean…. I’m sure Lennox is an excellent trainer, he learned from the very best.Posted June 11, 2013 5:27 am
