Manny did get outworked clearly by Bradley in all honesty. He fought like 1 minute of each round and it was just like “Manny hits super hard and Bradley hits super soft, so Manny’s 40 seconds beats Bradley’s 2 minutes 20 seconds” and the judges didn’t see it that way, and that’s how the cookie crumbled. I thought it should have been a draw. Meanwhile, JMM and MP have had tough bouts for the last decade.. and Manny was actually stiffening JMM’s legs like never before until falling into the most perfect punch that JMM has ever hit him with, and as the strongest JMM he’s ever been. Yeah, we have to see how Manny comes back, buuuut….. I think Rios is still going to find out that it’s not the old lion being feed to the young lion, but more like… the young lion being feed to the old bear. But who knows. That’s just what I think may happen, but I’ll have to watch some film, to gauge the guys strengths paired with eachother’s weaknesses. But, from what I’ve seen… Rios is a great in fighter, but doesn’t do so well when given angles, and Manny actually likes to counter.. but he does mix it once you fall into his step back shot(s)… which could help Rios who is a great in-fighter…. this should be interesting, but I’m favoring Manny… I don’t care what happened in his last two fighters with P4P class and a HOF class fighter (in Marquez)Posted June 12, 2013 12:34 pm
Ghetto Slug, I don’t get into all that Latino back and forth that’s PE And other guys game with that rivalry BS… Personally I think it’s corny both PuertoRico and Mexico have produced some of my favorite fighters ie Cotto and Marquez… You guys little war is of no interest to my, my alliegences are to my OWN opinions only about the sport…Posted June 12, 2013 9:16 am

The fights before and after those have been, eh. Rios has more than a puncher’s chance. If he gets Pac sitting on the ropes it is over.Posted June 11, 2013 1:55 pm

PE- funny thing is I have seen that documentry you speak of. Nothing new, Its new news to outsiders like yourself but ask any mexican that has set foot on mexican soil and they will tell you its been that way for decades and “corridos” tell the tales of those events if you ever heard of one. That documentry only covers how voilence has escaladed over the past few years but its not news breaking. I know Mexico is on that list of dangerous places to visit BUT does it stop tourist from going into mexico? No bro. Why? Only paranoid new travelers would not go and I wouldnt blame if they’ve never been to Mexico but it doesnt mean Mexico is anything comparable to Afghanistan or Iraq. Like I said use a little commen sense, avoid shady areas in Mexico and stick to well know tourist places that have security and you should be ok. If you scared, its ok PE…lol. again nothing new only to outsiders.Posted June 11, 2013 1:33 pm
PE- again, im not denying the crime that takes place, it is a fact. But that IS NOT the main reason why mexicans leave Mexico. Poverty pushes many to go up north and now with the added war just another reason. Its like with many other immigrant that comes to the US. Most are common citizens that are looking for a better future, that want no part of mexicos dirty governments or corruption with drugs. However, unlike other immigrants, mexicans are not as fortunate. You know that almost ever other immigrant get that “free” pass that u speak of, even refugees have it good. As soon as they land on US soil…” welcome here is ur SS# and resident card.” Not mexicans. Thats a fact. Thats the difference.Posted June 11, 2013 1:18 pm

Paqiao is a warrior and he will be back big time I am more than sure about that ,he got stoped early in his carrier but he bounced back big time ,he than took bareras rival morales and went toe to toe with him for 12 rounds no in’s and out’s but real crowd pleasing fight even though he lost in points he than came back big time and became the first boxer to stop morales and avange his loss ,twice! So I wish Marquez gives him a chance for a reamatch and we will find out how “washed up ” paqiao is …but I think Marquez will try ver hard to avoid PAC fight again I just hope he does fight PAC again and for the last time!Posted June 11, 2013 12:45 pm
PUBLIC ENEMY and SREDMOND: Great comments; you guys always have the real deal spill. In my humble opinion: ONLY two dangerous boxers for Pacquiao: Marquez and Mayweather. Anyone else is up for grabs. Pacquiao has always put on great fights just like Cotto. PPVs don’t get sold based on ESB commentators who like to bash any boxer WHO’s NOT MEXICAN. Pacquiao ONLY loses if he comes in unprepared. He can even come in with the same exact training he had before the Marquez IV fight and still come up winning. Rios will never be anywhere near Marquez’s or Pacquiao’s genius; and, even he’s born again, he will never have Mayweather’s perfect boxing IQ.Posted June 11, 2013 12:42 pm
Is it just me or does anyone else think there’s something fishy, something that’s just not right about this matchup? I don’t get it. I don’t feel good about it. And that photo of Pacquiao lying face-down, out cold on the canvas just reinforces my feelings. That vision, along with the memory of the fear and loathing and panic in Jinky’s eyes (Manny’s wife) as she fought to get past security and ring officials to be with her husband who appeared to be near-dead sends a lot of ominous messages. All the world will watch this fight–not to see Manny win, but to see if he can survive. That’s not what boxing matches should be about. Manny’s last fight ended tragically. This one could end even worse–for either fighter. I’m going to go order Arum’s headstone. Hopefully he’ll be needing it soon.Posted June 11, 2013 12:09 pm
“Pacquiao MAY not even make it to the Rios Fight. Provodnikov may end his career in sparring.” Makes me wonder why Roach would have him spar with a hammer-fisted opponent.Posted June 11, 2013 11:54 am
Rios has got the right idea. He better get his head on a buoy too. If he aint moving his head then Pac will. Guaranteed. Can’t wait for this fight. Gonna be a scrap while it lasts. Perfect comeback fight for Pac, and litmus test to boot. Lets goooooooPosted June 11, 2013 11:45 am
BTW- Word in PR is that Cotto will be fighting K9 Bundrage and will train with Freddie Roach. That could mean he actually shares camp with Pac, as their fights are around the same date. Those are some sparring sessions I’d love to see.Posted June 11, 2013 11:27 am
Te Tumbo- A lot of the things you say are true: Bam Bam is certainly in his prime, he’s a bad mofo and he’s going to fight til the end. And unlike a lot of people think, he does have fine inside fighting skills that go beyond just plodding and punching like a caveman. No doubt about any of those things.. But what separates him from Pacquiao is speed. Unlike Marquez, Ríos only has one choice, to brawl against Pac and hope he can make it a war where they stand toe to toe. Pac has eaten guys like that for lunch because he’s had the best legs in the business. And even if that is not true anymore, 60% of Pac’s old legs would still be too fast for Bam Bam. I’m not saying Bam Bam has no chance, but a couple of things need to happen that seem improbable: Pac comes out of shape, not likely after losing the way he did; Pac Man lost his legs, not likely after the way he moved his last fight; Pac Man gets into a firefight with the bigger, younger Ríos, not likely because Roach will be burning Pac’s ear off to box the guy (unless he gets hurt, because Manny FIGHTS when he’s hurt); Pac Man’s shell broke after the KO- still TBD-Posted June 11, 2013 11:24 am

PE – I dont need to watch a documentry on Mexico to make up my mind for me ( unlike others ). Its a drug war, what do u expect? I knew what was going to happen even before they started the drug war. Its sad, but I knew a lot of blood was going to be shed. If you want to better inform yourself then I suggest you read CNNs ” Mexico As dangerous and Safe… as ever ” . Lets also not forget Mexicos guns and drugs are fueled by your beloved U.S. and its drug addiction, just like when Pablo Escobar was in charge in Columbia’s drug cartel. Its the same politics like for the war on Iraq. Bush said America was going to find those weapons of mass destruction, u know what I did? I laughed it up, again, I knew before hand they were not going to find anything and I was right. So dont always buy into what the media or what politicians spit out into ur face. i wanted this matchup even before watching Pacquiao* victimized by the #1 KO in Boxing History. Manny* remains a one-dimensional slugger who can be outthought, outboxed, and outpunched. besides, if Garcia can add wrinkles to Maidana’s game, he can certainly add a wrinkle or two to Rios’ fight-game for the biggest bout of his life. a jab and/or counterpunching dimension is all that Rios will need to lure Pacquiao* into exchanging punches v. a legit powerpuncher, with a sturdy chin, in his prime, and at an optimal fighting weight. when was the last time Pacquiao* dared face those odds? they don’t come any hungrier or fiercer than Rios and even if Pacquiao* manages to re-gather all of his marbles by November they will still be loose enough for Rios to rattle around his melon with an unrelenting fusillade of hooks and uppercuts. Pacquiao* is no Alvarado and if he engages Rios in a toe-to-toe slugfest, he’s Toast.Posted June 11, 2013 9:47 am
I’m not a huge pacman fan but the guys a beast I mean legends get knocked out, BUT ESB did this writer really say that he got out worked by Bradley? Really? …and yeah, unless the KO rattled Pacquiao to the point where he hesitant in the ring, he should absolutely demolish Rios…..and it’ll fun while it lasts because Rios WILL go all out in this fightPosted June 11, 2013 9:32 am
what are you nuts?….Pacquiao looked great in his last fight against until he walked into that perfect counter by JMM. He looked like the Pacquiao of old and was going in for the kill (both fighters were). Now, even though I believe Pacquiao easily beat Bradley on points, I will concede that he looked lackluster in that fight. He fought very similar to how he did in PAC/JMM 3.Posted June 11, 2013 9:31 am
Manny is going to destroy the very limited Rios, beating him up until the towel comes in.Posted June 11, 2013 9:14 am
This is some terrible and very LAZY writing on the part of the silly man… Trying to build a thesis on PAC Man losing to Bradley is fcking crazy… That decision was so unjust and terrible that it was universally dismissed, Bradley literally was more hurt by that gift than his career was helped… Marquez did an obvious number on Manny and that does not require a genius to see nor discuss… Rios should be going for the kill, he’s not a better boxer than Pacquiao and testing his resolve and ability to handle hard shots only makes sense, who knows it might be a Chad Dawson type deal, that said Manny should have enough to defeat Rios and if he doesn’t well that’s the end of his run at the top… Rios is not a technical challenge he’s there to be hit..Posted June 11, 2013 8:34 am

Bred- I absolutely hear you, I just think Bam Bam falls right into Pac’s sweet spot. People say he has no D, but he fought nearly perfect defensive fights against DLH and Margarito, who also tried to bring it to Pacquiao. I can’t see Bam Bam try to brawl against Pacquiao without ending up like all the others who tried that approach.Posted June 11, 2013 7:30 am
Its a good fight for pacman after two losses and lots of questions abt him being raised. He’s fighting a low IQ single dimensional Rios who only has a granite chin to protect him. If he can maintain his in out style and not play Rios’ inside game then he wins handsomely. Its all in Manny’s mind: fight his own fight, don’t get suckered in, and win going away at the final bell.Posted June 11, 2013 7:04 am
So is Rios moving up from 140 to 147 after only two fights at 140? sounds like he’s doing a Broner.Posted June 11, 2013 5:44 am
Rios is looking for that Right hand Marquez used to counter the lounging Pacquiao.
Manny better learn from his mistakes, defense is key, foot work is the escape, and speed will kill.
Rios tenacity, activity, and be ready, take away Manny’s heart by making him remember why he fell asleep in the fight, work on defense too, specially head movement.

Manny Pacquiao is the Greatest fighter to have ever laced on a pair of gloves. Please stop with all the nonsense about Manny being done, damaged goods etc. Those of you that think those things are seriously afraid that Manny Pacquiao will come back and once again leave a trail of injured boxers as he begins another reign of terror. Manny is a living legend that has more left in him than most of you fear. Imagine Bradley and Ped Man Marquez being destroyed in rematches, and ultimately defeating and retiring Floyd Mayweather. Don’t dare doubt with this man can do. Most haters tremble at the thought of knowing Manny Pacquiao is still around because he’s more than capable of beating everyone from 140-168 pounds. I believe may may win his 9th division title before it’s all over. I must give credit to Brandon Rios for taking the fight. He has always been a tough and courageous fighter that comes to fight, which is more than I can say for Bradley and Marquesz since both wanted no part of Manny Pacquiao even though they would get paid millions more. This only shows what fear can do to a man. And Floyd Mayweather has been running from the legend that is Manny Pacquiao all his life. Manny fought everyone that took the challenge, and he sure destroyed them all. Back to back to back and so on. Floyd watched with panic and fear and said, no way I’m fighting him. Uncle Roger followed with the same thoughts and finally, Floyd Senior feared for his son’s life. Manny Pacquiao won 8 division titles and never ran from anyone. And yes, the Ring credits Manny Pacquiao as the only 8 division boxing champion in history, which is good enough for me. Manny’s fighting technique is one of a kind. Just look at how sports fans all over the world are clamoring to see Manny Pacquiao fight again. He out sells all athletes in all sports. He’s the biggest sell in boxing history. Imagine a 5ft 6” man putting fear into the hearts of opponents that are twice his size. Manny Pacquiao is a joy to watch, and we should all feel special to be able to see the greatest fighter in the history of boxing at least 3 more times. Boxer, actor, singer, philanthropist, Congressman, bible study teacher, helper of the poor, loved by everyone. Top three fighters of all time IMO are 1. Manny Pacquiao 2. Sugar Ray Robinson 3. Roberto Duran. Stay tuned for Manny’s next destruction vs Brandon Rios.Posted June 11, 2013 2:57 am
I DON’T BELIEVE Brandon has the necessary skills to derail the return of the Pacquiao Express.
Even at this stage of Pac’s career he possesses too much ring savvy to negate the attacks of Bam Bam.
If Bam Bam goes right in there, hunting for the KO, Pac will pick him off and stop him. The strategy Bam needs is more of a box-pressure style, behind a tight guard and look to work the body and counter when he can and try to wear Pac down late.
A shoot-out scenario will leave him flat on his back, staring up at the ring lights as Pac’s fast hands will counter him all night as I don’t believe he has the necessary one-punch KO power to get Pac out of there!Posted June 11, 2013 2:53 am

Yeah Duran came back and so did Lewi and Wlad, but I rank Manny being knocked out like Roy and Jermaine Taylor and Hatton, and Paul wiliamsPosted June 11, 2013 12:22 am
Pacquiao is done, too bad he didnt take the fight with the King Money May while he could, at least he would have gotten his arse kicked by the GOAT and not by a granpa, sad for him (so he lost the BIGGEST payday of his life in the side)Posted June 11, 2013 12:15 am
On the other hand this is not Ricky Hatton we’re talking about.. This kid is tougher than railroad spikes..Posted June 11, 2013 12:14 am
True b-red, but likewise rios idea of defense is let’s see how many punches I can catch with my chin. Gotta love it tho should be a banger as long as it lastsPosted June 11, 2013 12:12 am
Rios is going to go for the kill against Pacquiao??? No kidding?
He always goes for the kill from the bell… So it doesn’t take a brain storm to prepare for him… He keeps coming so Pac hs to keep dishing.Posted June 11, 2013 12:11 am
Let’s all hope Lou Moret isn’t allowed within 100 miles of this ring.Posted June 11, 2013 12:10 am
To me Manny’s problem is his lack of defence, and Freddie Roach is deficient in that departmentPosted June 11, 2013 12:05 am
Wow, I am taking Rios by KO myself.Posted June 10, 2013 11:57 pm
Tomato Can and Srminimo, Im not wishing for Pac to get hurt again, Im just thinking he could fall in the Roy Jones syndrome were lesser fighters knock him out, ya digPosted June 10, 2013 11:56 pm
Pacquiao MAY not even make it to the Rios Fight. Provodnikov may end his career in sparring.Posted June 10, 2013 11:52 pm
I took Rios by knockout and I am CORRECT.Posted June 10, 2013 11:51 pm
B red- Tomato- true that most guys are never the same after being hammered like that, but there are also exceptions. Duran almost got his head separated from his body by Hearns and then came back to give Iran Barkley hell, Lennox Lewis came back from 2 pretty devastating KOs, not to mention Wlad K and even Joe Louis. That was one scary KO, but man, Bam Bam is custom made for vintage Pacquiao. Eventually everybody has to go, but I’m not sure this is the time we say goodbye to the great Filipino.Posted June 10, 2013 11:38 pm
Rios is use to eating about as many punches as he gives, problem with fighting Pac is he will be eating far more then he can dish out, that is ofcourse unless we see the Pac that only fights in spurts..Posted June 10, 2013 11:12 pm
B Red, history’s on your side too.Posted June 10, 2013 11:06 pm
B Red, You’re right. And that KO was about as nasty as they get. A chin has a way of remembering stuff like that. But Rios will be catching 6 to 1. He better make his count before he’s on the end of his own knock out punch. I think Rios will be easy work, for Pac, but I could be wrong. I didn’t think Marquez would blast him out of there with one punch either.Posted June 10, 2013 11:06 pm
But it was a brilliant move by JMM who is the smarter of the two. JMM is one of the smartest in the game so its not a knock on Pac. Both are great fighters and both showed heart in that fight and gave fans their money’s worthy.Posted June 10, 2013 10:56 pm
Pac was looking good against JMM. People knock him for knocking out but how do you knock someone that is trying to fight in an excitable manner in order to please the crowd. How do you knock someone for taking a chance and trying to score a KO of his own?
It’s fighting. It happens to those that are willing to take risks.Posted June 10, 2013 10:54 pm
Tomato Can, very few fighters comeback from one of the greatest knockouts in history. PaC fell face first on the canvas, and was snoring in the ringPosted June 10, 2013 10:50 pm
Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)
murderman: Me too, bro! I still really want to see Floyd vs. PacMan as well, although at this point I’ve totally given-up hope that it’s ever gonna happen. It would be a MAJOR TREAT to ALL fight fans, though, if both men will do whatever they gotta do to finally put it together — as they both have only a few fights left.Posted June 10, 2013 10:35 pm
that looks like Eric Morales on the lower rope after Puerto Rican Danny Garcia knockedhimdafkoutCold.. exept Eric Morales ended up on his back looking up at the Lights.. dead as Road Kill..Posted June 10, 2013 10:28 pm
Writer- just the fact that you put Dawson and Pac in the same sentence says a lot. And as far as I can remember, Pac was looking pretty good against Marquez, except for those two little right hands…Posted June 10, 2013 10:21 pm
@ squared circle – hope u right brother! Im still holding on to the dream fight of may vs pac! Even though both will prob be washed up by the time it happens!Posted June 10, 2013 10:07 pm
I don’t see Rios wining this fight at all. Pac will be too fast and too strong for Rios, plus he brings lots of experience inside the ring. He was beating Marquez badly for most of the fight before being KO and Rios just doesn’t have half the ability that Marquez possesses to slip punches or counterpunch…Rios is just too easy to hit.
It’s just a matter of time before Rios becomes another punching bag like Margo and Angulo. Pac will win this one by TKO.Posted June 10, 2013 9:58 pm
Bred, lol. I doubt it, but that’ll be if for him if you’re right…Posted June 10, 2013 9:56 pm
@Tomato Can, yep this time Pac is HattonPosted June 10, 2013 9:54 pm
And for the record i never picked rios just said there could be a potential danger for pac. He should win this fight! But if he loses his is done!Posted June 10, 2013 9:53 pm
Pac is done,Finito.Posted June 10, 2013 9:52 pm
@ boxer- u prob thought the same thing bout jmm. And look what happen to pac! All im saying is he better not sleep on rios. Me doing a lil boxing in my younger day, i knpw anybody can get caught w that perfect shot! Ask pac! LolPosted June 10, 2013 9:51 pm
Really this fight could be Pacquiao/Hatton all over again.Posted June 10, 2013 9:47 pm
Murderman whaaaaat haha, pacquiao hurt by 1 dimension rios ??? Pick a new sport my dude this fight is going 5 rds at the very most rios is Taylor made for pacman!,Posted June 10, 2013 9:44 pm
Sounds good in theory. He needs to be aware that Pac isn’t Alvarado. He won’t stand in front of him to be hit. I think if he does win it will be due to Manny’s age showing, not Rios’ amazing skills.Posted June 10, 2013 9:41 pm
Martin “EL BRUCHADOR” Honorio
There’s only one mexican who can beat Pacquiao—- and he’s name is not Rios.Posted June 10, 2013 9:20 pm
Rios better bring his own food and water to China, or it might be he who ends up taking a beating.Posted June 10, 2013 9:16 pm
He could very well, but I think he will come through. Marquez is an excellent counter-puncher which was what got Pac. Rios on the other hand while a monster puncher, tends to charge head first into every bout. Pac has done extremely well against those type of fighters. Think it depends on where manny is mentallyPosted June 10, 2013 9:16 pm
I don’t think pacman loses rios is style fighterPosted June 10, 2013 9:13 pm
Dangerous fight for pac. Not only can he loose he can get ko’ed and hurt badley if he isnt careful!Posted June 10, 2013 9:07 pm
