Hidalgo – first you win fights that get you a shot where you can price yourself. Khan can’t even win those fights so he can’t even price himself.Posted June 5, 2013 1:49 am
“All this talk about Khan facing Floyd is absolute rubbish.” Nah. If the pirce is right, Floyd will fight Khan.Posted June 4, 2013 11:13 pm
Neil….don’t sweat it my friend, some people have no idea what it takes to be a fighter.
Sometimes I feel there is a special level of idiocy saved only for boxing fansPosted June 4, 2013 11:57 am
oh give over … any fighter who reaches anywhere close to world level is never “trash”Posted June 4, 2013 11:56 am
They should up the stakes.. Loser retires forever. Both of these fighters are trash.Posted June 4, 2013 8:14 am
All this talk about Khan facing Floyd is absolute rubbish. Khan can’t get past Prescott, Garcia and LP nevermind Mathysse where does he get off even mentioning Mayweather. At this point he wouldn’t even get past Broner.Posted June 3, 2013 8:45 pm
Yeah, agreed …. i think this is winnable for Khan. Cany write Alexander off though … good match up.Posted June 3, 2013 7:34 pm
Not a bad move for Khan. Alexander is a very winnable fight and maybe the extra 7 lbs will help his chin. But forget about Floyd.Posted June 3, 2013 6:55 pm
“What he needs to PROVE is that he can come to 147 and take a punch, and he’s fighting a top 3 WW… ” That amongst other things, Q. As for FMJ “filling spaces” I didn’t say or insinuate anything about that. But one fight at 147 doesn’t make Khan ready for Mayweather, or deserving of a fight with him. Even Robert The Flop Guerrero had two fights as a welterweight before he got a fight with Mayweather. And clearly, two welterweight fights was not enough–because Robert didn’t fight any top welterweights before facing Floyd– as Robert hardly managed to land a glove on Floyd for 12 rounds. Of course I expect Khan would do much better, for a while, because of his blazing hand speed. But once Floyd sussed him out, it would be over for Khan.Posted June 3, 2013 6:24 pm
Wise move by Khan to move up to 147 and face Alexander thus avoiding Matthysse and Garcia. If Khan can some how get past Alexander then Golden Boy can fast track Khan and cash out on Khan by putting him in with Mayweather before he gets knocked out again. Smart moves all around.Posted June 3, 2013 2:28 pm
Grant Watson: The winner of Garcia-Lucas (they can move straight up to fight FMJ since they’re really the same sizes, and both those guys are BIG punchers, so if Bradley could move straight up, I don’t see why those two can’t) That should be Floyd’s next fight. That’s a BIG fight. Danny Vs. Lucas is a BIG fight, and will be PPV on it’s own.Posted June 3, 2013 12:40 pm
Hidalgo: I don’t agree with you. Khan is a proven fighter at lower weight divisions, and a former P4Per. What he needs to PROVE is that he can come to 147 and take a punch, and he’s fighting a top 3 WW… so he can prove a lot. Alexander isn’t a knockout puncher, but neither is Floyd, although Floyd will likely knock out a guy with an average or in Khan’s case below average chin. That said, Bradley was able to go directly from 140 to fighting Manny at 147 (as a non puncher) without even being able to acclimate to the division and without fighting a top 3 WW. If Khan wins this bout, more over… If Khan rolls over Alexander (which would be something impressive, everyone isn’t Mayweather, and Devon is STILL a very solid legit top 10 fighter) then that would be impressive. I wouldn’t mind seeing FMJ Vs. AM in the UK after that. Why not? Floyd IS old, and 99% of the boxers throughout HISTORY… have taken on top 10 fighters to fill space… as far as I know…. you’re telling me FMJ isn’t allowed to fill space with a former P4Per who is faster than him at the age of 37? Come on, that’s ridiculous.Posted June 3, 2013 12:33 pm
Alexander to knock out khan in round 9. He may of quit against bradley but he is too good for khan. Khan is on the slide even at his young age and is looking for the shortest route to a big payday. Mayweather will beat canelo with ease. Unanimous.decision and then who is left to beat!Posted June 3, 2013 11:59 am
Alexander is going to punish Khan. I can’t wait for this fight.Posted June 3, 2013 10:54 am
Alexander will take this one!Posted June 3, 2013 10:31 am
Khan is nothing more than a B class fighter.no thanks!
Mayweather vs Sergio at 154 (80% $ mayweather-20% $ sergio)Posted June 3, 2013 10:21 am
Mayweather will kill him.Posted June 3, 2013 10:10 am
good move by golden boy…potential Mayweather opponents need 2 be made n best way is 2 get on a win streak against good competition…nice fight…alexander can be outboxed as tha german fighter showed a couple yrs ago…n khan has china chin, but heart of a lion….big reward 4 winnerPosted June 3, 2013 9:33 am
Khan gatekeeper will get beat again by Alexander.Posted June 3, 2013 8:55 am
Where the hell is Prince Naseem he’s deserves a shot at Floyd more than Khan. lol…Posted June 3, 2013 8:47 am
Even though Khan doesn’t deserve a shot at Floyd, I actually think that Khan has the style & skill set to be competitive with Floyd, at least for a few rounds until Floyd figures him out and takes him out. Mayweather implications aside, Alexander/Khan is a damn good match-up. Unlike the Author, I don’t see Alexander “beating Khan badly”, but I do see a competitive fight with both fighters having a good chance at winning.Posted June 3, 2013 6:24 am
I meant Garcia spanked Khan :-)Posted June 3, 2013 6:03 am
Even if Khan beats Devon, he does NOT deserve a shot against Floyd. Garcia spanked Floyd, for example, so why isn’t Danny getting a shot at Floyd? Khan only wants Mayweather for the big payday, he doesn’t even care if he loses. Khan is a joke, sorry.Posted June 3, 2013 6:03 am
Khan genuinely believes that he and Floyd are by far the most gifted boxers on the planet. Nobody else even comes close. If Alexander were to spark him in the first round, he’d still believe it. The guy is beyond delusional…..Posted June 3, 2013 5:34 am
Why wouldn’t an Alexander win be enough? Alexander is a top 5 WW and was being considered as an opponent by Mayweather before he ultimately chose Guerrero. Keeping in mind how Ortiz and Guerrero got their shots I don’t think the winner of this match up would be any less deserving. Whoever wins this bout gets Mayweather next May if he gets past Canelo that is.Posted June 3, 2013 3:09 am
Khan should take on Brook great fight for UK fans, they don’t like each other so would be really good.Posted June 3, 2013 3:01 am
She a good fighterPosted June 3, 2013 12:19 am
“Alexander just throws in the towel when he is losing” What are you talking about Options? His fight with Bradley, the headbutt king?Posted June 2, 2013 11:16 pm
Or that he even warrants a fight with Mayweather.Posted June 2, 2013 11:15 pm
“Amir needs one fight at welterweight along with a title to set up the match with Floyd” BS. Khan needs more than one fight at welterweight to prove he belongs in that division.Posted June 2, 2013 11:15 pm
Sergio would cause all kinds,of problem for moneyhaywire many more than Saul !Posted June 2, 2013 11:07 pm
khan is outta therePosted June 2, 2013 10:18 pm
Malinaggi could beat him, that is probably a risk for Broner, going up two divisions against a fighter who is not just going to sit there and trade, he has took a gamble, good luck.Posted June 2, 2013 10:10 pm
No Canelo knocked Baldamore out with a huge left hook. Canelo is faster, a better boxer, bigger and hits a lot harder than Baldamore.Posted June 2, 2013 10:05 pm
Broner aint fought no one, why is he top p4p, HBO hype and a shoulder roll, that’s why.Posted June 2, 2013 10:04 pm

This is an interesting fight. Not really sure who I’d pick to win this.Posted June 2, 2013 9:28 pm
Love-the-Sport: Martinez is a big guy….. Floyd doesn’t belong fighting these Middleweights, seriously, jaja… but hey…. I guess you are the true hardcore FMJ believers… he has not limits for you all… that’s nice… we’ll see what happens Sep, but I’m hoping he pulls it off…… FMJ.Posted June 2, 2013 9:28 pm
Love-the-Sport: All in all YOU ARE CORRECT, HOWEVER… he’s moving UP to fight a top 4 fighter in a bigger division… if it holds true that his chin is like a 5 year old child, then he SHOULD get stopped my Alexander (who isn’t a big puncher but is a bigger man than a guy like Julio Diaz)… and if he walks through a fighter like Devon Alexander, it wouldn’t be logical to say that he still doesn’t deserve the FMJ bout… it just wouldn’t. What we KNOW is that he’s going to be maybe the fastest guy around the top 10 in the WW division for sure, with good reach and a nice work rate… and if he proves that he can function at that level and win, and even SHINE, then it’s not completely fair to say he didn’t or doesn’t also deserve a FMJ bout…. or maybe it would be.. but I’d like to see if his speed helps him before he’s probably knocked out against an underrated and accurate puncher like FMJ, jaja. Floyd is also making lots of hispanics rich, I hope he fights an Alexander or Bradley (a Bradley bout would be pretty big IMO)Posted June 2, 2013 9:24 pm
Love-the-Sport: you’re really telling me that you don’t think that it would be a bit interesting to watch Khan’s speed against FMJ? at Floyd’s age? that’s a solid bout…. but Floyd SHOULD be fighting the winner of LM Vs. DGPosted June 2, 2013 9:11 pm
Errol Brown, hot chocalate, no thankyou.Posted June 2, 2013 8:54 pm
Options you’re not making sense ??? Sounds like you need a good dose of Sexual Chocolate !!!!Posted June 2, 2013 8:49 pm
Diaz is still a good fighter, check his record, he would beat Alexander easy, Khan is not interested in easy fights.Posted June 2, 2013 8:17 pm
This may be a great fight if Khan can bring some power from 140. Fighting at 147 may be good for Khan and may even make him more effective. Not sure which Alexander will be entering the ring against Khan. After his fight against Bradley he appeared to lose his confidence and became too cautious. He hasn’t fought any big name since his lost to Bradley, unless perhaps Maidana. I must go for Khan in this fight because of his better boxing skills.Posted June 2, 2013 8:09 pm
My 5 year old daughter can hurt Khan. Khan was knocked down and hurt badly against Julio Diaz and I don’t think Julio Diaz would be considered a Top 20 fighter.Posted June 2, 2013 8:08 pm
No way khan bets alexander. They may as well book alexander vs may early 2014. Assuming may does take alot of punishment from canelo. I think floyd will win ud. However he will take some punishment during the process. But devon is going to murder khan!Posted June 2, 2013 7:57 pm
I’d like to see Kell Brook vs Thurman that would be a good fight.Posted June 2, 2013 7:51 pm
Good point about Thurman. These next 5 fights will take place over the next 2-3 years. If Alvarez beats Mayweather — then a rematch would be a 3 million PPV fight. Huge. Unbelievably huge.
If Mayweather beats Alvarez, he will then probably fight 2x in 2014 and 2x in 2015.
Thurman looks good. By 2015, I think he will be great. Again, I would say:
1. Saul Alvarez (sept 2013)
Again, I hope Manny Pacquiao can rack-up a few wins to make a 2015 fight relevant. But I for one would love to see this line-up of fights from Floyd.Posted June 2, 2013 7:47 pm
Limey I agree, we know he aint perfect but he’s fast and exiting, would be good to get Money over to UK.Posted June 2, 2013 7:46 pm
Money only fight champs bro, Thurman would at least have to win a title first.Posted June 2, 2013 7:45 pm
We all know khans weaknesses….but I,d love to see him get the floyd fight….silly as it sounds but I think khan would cause floyd all sorts of problems.
Thurman?? what the heck as he done to earn a shot?Posted June 2, 2013 7:42 pm
In my opinion, Floyd Mayweather should end his career with high profile fights against the pound-for-pound leaders … OR … he should fight exciting young fighters who are up and coming and working to make a name in the sport. Here are my final 5 suggested opponents:
1. Saul Alvarez (obviously already scheduled for September)
These 5 fights would make Floyd Mayweather a truly great fighter and maybe the best of all time. Even if some of these fights should have happened years ago — if they happen and Floyd wins big, he will go down as top 5 all time fighter.
Fighting Alexander or Khan would be meaningless.Posted June 2, 2013 7:32 pm
At welterweight im guessing ?? Whom ???Posted June 2, 2013 7:28 pm
Khan is still very young for a Boxer, he is fast, fast hands, can move about, that might be a fight for Floyd.Posted June 2, 2013 7:28 pm
Who should he fight “floyd” after Canelo ?Posted June 2, 2013 7:28 pm
This is a disappointing article. I think Floyd Mayweather is the best technical fighter in the history of the sport, the best defensive fighter in the history of the sport, and possibly top 5 all around pound-for-pound fighter in history.
I give Floyd a pass on choosing Guerrero. He was coming out of jail. He needed a tune-up.
I give Floyd huge props for fighting Alvarez.
But if he goes back to Alexander or Khan … well that is not exactly fan-friendly. I think my 5 year old daughter has a better chin than Khan. Floyd is great. Maybe Floyd is the greatest. But he demeans the sport if fights Khan or Alexander. Bad for boxing. Bad for the fans. Bad for everybody.Posted June 2, 2013 7:17 pm
Alexander has been in with some decent names, but the guy has actually disappointed me in every single fight I have seen with the exception of Urango, and due to the failure to KO anyone worth anything since, that KO looks something of a blip.
Alexander is VERY inaccurate, he throws a lot of punches into gloves and grunts like a mating wilderbeast. He held all night vs Maidana, and Lederman was already sick of it in round 1. He was outboxed by Kotelnik and won solely on Workrate. Despite his shifty round 10 with Maidana, Khan was superior against both those opponents.
All he has to do is finish on his feet, and learn to draw a left so he doesn`t get countered with a hook, and Khan can probably beat Alexander with a near shutout.
It will likely be his last win though, since he is never beating Mayweather, and there are all manner of JWW and WW better than Alexander that will knock him out.Posted June 2, 2013 7:17 pm
He fights away, fights PED cheats, doesn’t avoid anyone.Posted June 2, 2013 7:11 pm
Lol……Noone is a non puncher vs Khan. Alexander has a way faster leftook than Garcia . Didn’t Urango have an iron chin? Khan is getting koed here. And winner vs Mayweather? Lol…..right up the cherry pickers alley.Posted June 2, 2013 7:11 pm
Lots of talk about Khan, must be a good fighter.Posted June 2, 2013 7:09 pm
Khan is a fun to watch is fun watching him stumble all over the ring when he gets hitPosted June 2, 2013 6:52 pm
I am talking about Khan v Alexander, not who they are fighting next.Posted June 2, 2013 6:46 pm
YES YOU KHAN
Baby bring all will fall before KING KHAN the best Brit fighter since Sven Octette !!!!Posted June 2, 2013 6:45 pm
Alexander is one of the few welterweights I think Khan could beat.Posted June 2, 2013 6:43 pm
Khan or Alexander wony do crap on ppv. Unless Khan wins by ko then beats broner then maybe he should be considered. The fight that should be made is the winner of Garcia vs matthyssePosted June 2, 2013 6:43 pm
Alexander is not like Khan, he has not got the courage.Posted June 2, 2013 6:37 pm
Never think Alexander won’t quit again, you could say boo, he will quit.Posted June 2, 2013 6:36 pm
Never count a NON puncher out vs Khan! Even a guy with this record: 50 Wins, 25 losses (1 win by KO) has a chance in flooring Khan.Posted June 2, 2013 6:32 pm
And its only me that see’s it, not you fools.Posted June 2, 2013 6:28 pm
Khan is a better fighter than Alexander, he fought Peterson in his hometown of Washington, well done Khan, he was the champion, did not have to, and Peterson taking PEDS, the rematch was stopped because of that, so he took the Garcia fight on short notice, he could of not bothered, but he had been in training for Peterson.
always the negative pics for the brits esbPosted June 2, 2013 6:27 pm
Both of these guys need to be fighting on the under card of your local ProAm fights. Both are flawed with either a weak glass chin or the most boring fake boxing champion ever. Sadly, this sorry fight will actually give the winner a big money fight. The state of boxing continues to diminish.Posted June 2, 2013 6:16 pm
If so Khan even thou he has a china chin he’ll catch Mayweather off a loss when he’s buckled couple of time by CaneloPosted June 2, 2013 5:58 pm
Khan vs Alexander is 50/50 fight i think, But I probably lean towards Khan due to the fact that Khan has better hand speed and Alexanders lack of power!Posted June 2, 2013 5:53 pm
Khan vs Mayweather will sell out Wembley Stadium (floyd already said he wants to fight in uk) and possibly st a new UK pay per view record!! some of these writers need to look beyond the US can’t you see fights are moving away from there now?!? Golden Boy have done their maths and everyone knows Devon vs Floyd is a boring fight that will do less numbers than Guerrero!!Posted June 2, 2013 5:52 pm
Khan will make Alexander quit again, Alexander just throws in the towel when he is losing, he will do it again in a fight, Khan doesn’t do that.Posted June 2, 2013 5:48 pm
Boring.Posted June 2, 2013 5:48 pm
Alexander v Mayweather, or Canelo, everyone wants to see that fight, Alexander the quitter.Posted June 2, 2013 5:43 pm
if khan beats alexander, will mayweather insist on 149lb for the showdown?Posted June 2, 2013 5:42 pm
Mayweather could lose to Canelo, then the rematch, wins the rematch, then a third fight, that’s a trilogy.Posted June 2, 2013 5:39 pm
