Many Mexicans prefer to be called Mexicano, Chicano or Hispanic, but that does NOT mean that we’re not Latinos. A Latino is simply a descendent of Latin America. Google “Latin America” and you’ll learn that the major countries are Mexico and those in Central & South America. A “Hispanic” is simply someone who descends from a Spanish-speaking country that has a historical connection to Spain. Brazilians are Latino, but not Hispanic because they speak Portuguese. Spanish people are Hispanic, but not Latino because they descend from Europa. Belizeans are Latinos, but not Hispanic because most speak English, as their country (formerly British Honduras) was colonized by the Brits, not Spanish. Mexicanos are BOTH Hispanic and Latino. Boricuas are BOTH Hispanic and Latino. (However, you vagos from Puto Rico and las islas oscura should ALWAYS be called “Antillanos,” “West Indians” or “Cari-Beaners”… LOL.) Consider yourself home-schooled, son!! The bill is in the mail, but I don’t accept payment plans… LOL.

“ESB should post a handicapped symbol on every message board polluted by Public Douchebag… LMFAO! True that, mano. They really need to test Public Enema for mental retardation and severe learning disabilities. You know the guy must be at least partially retarded when he keeps repeating the most idiotic things you’ve ever heard in your life.

Example: “Mexicans ain’t Latinos, they’re Hispanics.” LOL! I can’t believe that even a retarded PR guy would say something that stupid. I’m actually starting to think he’s a really a brotha, just pretending to be PR. Everyone knows that “Latin America” is Mexico, Central & South America. They just include the Islands in our category because they happen to speak espanol and don’t fit-in anywhere else. The isla monos should be placed in their own totally separate category: Antillanos.

ESB should post a handicapped symbol on every message board polluted by Public Douchebag. that way posters know what to expect: a demonstration of Enema’s retarded strength.

“Get it right, PE” LIONKING, that’s like challenging a retarded person to explain the sport of Boxing. in fact(?), it’s exACTly like challenging a retarded person to explain the sport of Boxing . . . you’re too cruel.

Wrong! I root for the Klitschkos, Triple G, Sergey Kovalev, Maravilla, Matthyse, Macklin and Fury. Even root for PacMan in most fights and for Andre Ward. Was even pulling for Maravilla vs. Mexican fan-favorite Chavez Jr. — because I just can’t stand that spoiled little punk and think he’s overrated. So I don’t see anything wrong with being a loud, unapologetic supporter of Canelo, Mikey Garcia, Alvarado, Mares, JMM and some other Mexican fighters. I’m an American, born and raised, first and foremost. Get it right, PE.

Edd – No it’s not you, you are correct Mexicans only root for Mexicans.. LOL..

Now, for those who think of themselves as cerebral or are only mexican fighters fans only, if Juanma is “old”, “damaged,” or whatever, that in itself doesn’t speak to anything positive of Garcia. As a so called champion, Garcia should then be fighting fighters who are supposedly NOT damaged, this way he seems more credible if he does win because, WTF does Garcia prove fighting and “beating” an old and damaged fighter. It would be more a negative reflection on Garcia. However, should Juanma win, as I expect he will, then the win is ever more amplified given Garcia, is younger, not shop worn and the “champion.” Garcia has more to lose here than Juan.

Juan ma is garbage. Easy fight for Salido. No match. Juan ma should sell peanuts!!

More lies and misinformation from Public Enema, as always.
In reality, Garcia dominated the bout from the very beginning, keeping Salido at range with his jab. Mikey knocked Salido down four times early in the fight, building up a huge lead on the cards. During the 8th, Salido clashed heads with Garcia, causing Mikey’s nose to break. The fight was stopped between rounds, and for good reason, with the decision going to the cards. Garcia won a WIDE Unanimous Decision, and the WBO title. Mikey is now the Ring FW Champion of the World. The rest is history.

Garcia pulled a no mas vs old worn Salido once he got hurt.. Salido does not do well when he gets hurt.. We’ll see how he does once JuanMa lands a few good shots..

Well said, mano. Juanmono will be well on his way to gatekeeper/doorman/ bell-hop status after Mikey throws him a nasty beating. And PR boxing will continue it’s rapid decent into the ashes. RIP. The Cubans make these cats look like amateurs… lol. Sad, but true.

CORTES, Wrong. i noticed Mikey about a couple of years ago after a title-fight he won in nearby Anaheim. even back then it was obvious that Garcia had incredible speed, power, and accuracy in his punches. my only gripe is a lack of ferocity and bloodlust when he’s had some opponents hurt. he almost threatens to defeat himself with too much thinking. only Mikey can defeat Mikey which remains my analysis of Garcia. a dangerous boxer who can take you out with one punch but can sometimes stall delivering any necessary follow-up. still way too much for the damaged-goods Lopez. he’s going down Very HARD within 10 and joining Cotto and Rosado guarding the gate . . . IF he’s lucky.

yes salido was aged and shopworn from all of his wars.

Posted June 2, 2013 8:48 am

Huracan Cortes

People forgetting already how average Mikey looked in his fight prior to Salido, and Salido looked an aged fighter against Mikey…not taking anything away from Garcia but Lopez is a very live underdog here, hell a couple of years back no one would have picked Mickey when Juanma was ranked P4P.

Dino you think this will go round 9 ???

No way. Mikey KO’s Juanma inside 5 rounds.

This fight won’t last long, it’ll be over before your coffee gets luke warm.

Juanma will get hammered.

Ask Abner Mares about a tune-up that kid fights everyone. Plus Juan Ma already had tune-ups his last two fights. I think his chin might have to much of a tune-up from Salido he was looking punch drunk in those fights. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a close fight or if Juan Ma even gets the win. The guy is still young but he took some beating from Salido I think Mikey takes him out in 10.

SIRMINIMO…true, but a tune up would have been nice. JML is a tough little Puerto Rican and he has been to the big show a few times, I hope he comes in ready to fight 12 hard rounds. Gonna be a good one.

juanma is a live under-dog in this fight.

Mikey Garcia quit vs Salido, he doesn’t appear to handle getting hurt too well.. he may have a hard time vs JuanMa when JuanMa hurts him a bit.. Mickey looked shaken when he got hurt.. vs JuanMa that’s a recipe for a loss…

srminimo

Dino- the problem is Juanma doesn’t really have a choice. He’s had a couple of fights after Salido and he was supposed to fight Donaire before that got derailed. I’m pretty sure he knows at this moment in his career he’s a sacrificial lamb for GarcĂa and it’s do or die, but that’s just how the game works. Of all the big names in the division Garcia is probably the best choice for him because he’s a very calculating fighter that’s not going to push him from the get go and it remains to be seen what happens when he gets hit by a true banger, which Juanma certainly is.

I think Garcia will win though he has got fine skills, future HOF fighter for sure, but what a fight it will be.

Posted June 1, 2013 5:24 am

KOrnerman

I know man its a tough fight to pick for JJJUUUAANNMMAAA but that show’as you what kind of fighter he is, don’t you think he knows this, its tough but if he wins he’s the frickin World Champ again, big risk massive reward.

Posted June 1, 2013 5:22 am

Dino

Lopez handlers not doing him justice, he should have taken a tune up fight. Garcia should be offended, picking Mikey, TKO by round 9.

Lopez’s only chance is to land that quick power left inside on an unsuspecting Garcia just like he did v. Ponce but Mikey’s not that careless. in fact, he’s a very methodical boxer with a KO-puncher’s power. Lopez’s ambition/confidence is commendable but i can’t see this bout ending any other way than a spectacular KO win for Mikey.

Coming up I thought Lopez could have been that next big star from the PR but he has problems in and out of the ring. His chin isn’t great and neither is his stamina. He is still a good boxer but I expect Garcia to win this one.

Posted May 31, 2013 5:09 pm

Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)

Salido created the blueprint for how to beat Low-pez and proved that his chin can be vulnerable. Should be a competitive championship fight, but Garcia is going to outbox and beat-up on JuanMono — delivering his 3rd painful loss. Both guys have really good power, so should be a real burner.
Can’t wait for this one… Go Mikey!

Edgar Guevara

Garcia looked exceptional against Salido through 9 rounds. The win was ugly because it was stopped for Garcia to win the title. Salido was coming up, Lopez will take the doubt or Garcia will make sure this win is real.
