First of all, I am a little bit sorry for this writter because he is suppose to be impartial (as a writter). Second when somebody writes an article he/she has to consider and talk/write about different issues. For example, the writter in this article talks about the weight; however, he is forgetting that Mayweather fough JMM a smaller fighter who he (Mayweather) asked to come up in weight and on top of that he didn’t make weight. If you (writter and Mayweather) really think that asking a smaller boxer to come up in weight to fight a bigger boxer is wrong why do Mayweather asked for the same thing against Juan Manuel Marquez. So, he can do it; but if somebody ask him to do that it is wrong? Open your mind and eyes; Mayweather is scare. Why did he asked pacquiao to take a drug test, but he never asked no one else before to take a test? Because he was scare of Pacquiao.

Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)

Mayflower is the current WBA Super Welterweight (154lbs) champion and recipient of the WBC Diamond Super Welterweight (154lbs) belt. He is the current Ring #1 ranked Junior Middleweight (154lbs) in the world. Idiot translater: Floyd it too much of a heartless coward to defend his two titles and #1 ranking against Canelo. He has to create some ridiculous demands (only accepting a fight at 147lbs) as a method of ducking him. We saw this same B.S. from Floyd when he created all those unwarranted drug testing demands as a way of ducking PacMan. The Mayflowers are not the official anti-doping association, and don’t have the authority to place those demands on anyone.

Squared-Circle (a.k.a. LionKing)

That “Red Headed Chihuahua Princesses” is currently making it real hard for Mayflower to sleep at night right. Little Boy Floyd is running scared of Canelo’s power and that’s why he’s ducking him — just like he ducked PacMan for all those years.

I would be happy to see Canelo fight Lara, Vanes, or the winner of the Molina/Smith fight. I would also like to see Trout get a rematch if he wants one. All these fights can happen, but I doubt DLH wants to do any of them. He didn’t even want the Trout fight to happen.

Why has he avoided Cuban Lara for over a year his original Belts Mandatory??? instead he is trying to land fights with guys much smaller then him..

I’d pay to see him fight Golovkin. that fight makes sense or fight sergio martinez. Floyd isn’t gonna fight Canelo until his last fight of his contract if he does. That way he makes his money and if he happend to lose he can say he’s past his prime.

He shouldn’t have to fight GGG yet hed be KIA. Just give me Lara, Vanes and Molina and i’ll finally have an ounce of respect for him. Trouts a good jmw but probably at the bottom of that list. Canelo is no champion.

TARK

Since Mayweather and Alvarez both hold World Titles at 154, the natural matchup — which Floyd already said he would be interested in discussing — IS Mayweather-Alvarez… It would be Boxing History’s biggest grossing fight ever, so why not make it??? Floyd already said he likes his opponents to feel comfortable — he likes them to fight at their best weight.. What’s the problem? If Floyd needs a rehydration clause, simply negotiate a rehydration clause… Pacquiao got one put into his contract with De La Hoya—so it’s not unprescedented … This is the fight everybody has been talking about for over a year. Nobody has been talking about Alvarez-Golovkin.. What makes more sense at middleweight are Martinez-Golovkin or Quillin-Golovkin or Martinez-Quillin.. Alvarez is already well through the process of unifying 154 — to set a stellar example for the Middleweight Division. Floyd is the next undefeated 154-pound World Champion Alvarez wants to whip after beating the great undefeated Austin Trout. Why can’t these middleweights learn somethng from Canelo??? Unify 160 and Saul will be happy to fight the winner … Meanwhile, while they’re fighting it out at 160, Canelo has unfinished business at 154… Floyd??? Floyd??? Floyd??? Where are you man?

Canelo @ 22 making Floyd pee his pants. . . Super Welter (154lb)! as long as you make weight, fight goes on! Little girls trying to protect Floyd, so funny! Golovkin needs to build up some resume. Golovkin vs Canelo in 1 year. Canelo vs Floyd for Sep. 14!! It’s all about the biggest fights!! Canelo vs Floyd the biggest fight right now!

He should stay at 154 and or the ones that say he is to heavy than change boxing rules or stop nagging that he is to heavy. If you make the weight the day before and then you can weigh what ever the f u want. What happen to writers memories Floyd has beat a top 154 not to long ago. Why do they have protect Floyd from decent match ups . This writers are full of B.S. By the way I put my money on Floyd on a legit 154 title and lets forget those stupid catch weights fights.

Posted May 20, 2013 11:57 am

CORRECTAMUNDO

I hate to SAY it but Canelo’s a SISSYFIED LHW. He should be facing no one lighter than 153. And he should be willing to face anyone UP to 191. Floyd doesn’t qualify. Therefore Canelo needs to drop himself down to SMW on Fight night to get Floyd….or stay the same weight and call out Ward who wants to Fight in September.

Posted May 20, 2013 11:55 am

Dimelojudo

Who has Canelo fought? Please, he is famous because he is a white Mexican and they try to promote him for money reasons. I have read many of the post and I have to agree with many of them when they are saying that Canelo needs to fight other before choosing to go for fights Mayweather. Lara, Vanes, GGG, Martinez, Angulo, Kirkland and Chavez jr could be potential fights but boxing is not concerned with getting the best to fight each other. Look at Manny now; he is fighting Rios instead of Alvarado. In the 70’s and 80’s this type of things would had never happened but nowadays are common occurrences. I wish Keith Thurman had more fights in his resume because he would make a good contender for Mayweather but not many people know him. I will guarantee you that Canelo will lose his next fight if he chooses someone decent and with a decent amount of power. He was so tired against Trout but Trout has no KO power. On a different note, I still believe that Manny would be Floyd. I think that Paquiao should take the fight for almost free; and then; the rest is going to be history. Styles make fights! However, the best do not fight each other.

Canelo just needs to keep fighting at his weight and good things will come…..the money is there for all good fighters….you just have to keep winning…if he needs to move up in weight, just do it….nobody is unbeatable…..unless they don’t fight

Fears, you have a valid point. Canelo DOES have unfinished business to attend to in hus own and HE WILL. He is merely looking at a huge payday against the cash machine, which is Mayweather before he retires. Just good business sense. Canelo is still very young and he has,if he keeps his head on straight, a pretty good career ahead of him. Superman? No. Good up and coming fighter with potential,Yes.I’m not sold on Chavez jr. Too close to wbc president Jose Suliaman, translation,PROTECTED BIG TIME.

Simple answer for the rehydration BS. Floyd fought both Cotto and Oscar at 54..and they were mid 160’s fight nite. He said he wanted Cotto at his natural weight..no excuses. So, now he want’s Canello not at his naturale weight?? I’m amazed any self respecting fan of the sport we love can back Floyd on this. I don’t really believe in rehydration clauses in fights, but if Floyd would say he’d fight Canello at 54, as long as he didn’t weigh more than what Cotto or Oscar did on fight nite ( you know, since he didn’t have a problem with them) He’d have the support of EVERYONE! Even this HATER!!

Posted May 20, 2013 10:40 am

FEARS

First of all, no more welters & Jr. Welters!!! Now with that understood, I’m not rushing him straight to MW because he still has business to handle at 154. I would love to see him fight Angulo and/or Kirkland. Even though I don’t see Ishe Smith as a formidable threat to Canelo, he does have a belt which makes it a reasonable fight. After settling that business, he can move up to MW where there are many big fights for him to take and cash out big, especially if he can win a couple of them. A fight against Chavez Jr. would be enormous in Mexico even though I don’t think he could beat Chavez Jr.

Gentlemen , those same fellows who are harping over Canelos victory overvtrout are thw sane individuals who will support Mr.mayweather in ANYTHING HE DOES and blindly. This generation for the most part has always embraced the victim, us against THEM menatality. They will rationalize and find any justification for Mayweather who symbilzes that generation very aptly. First the criticism of the victory by Canelo over trout . Now recently as I’ve gone over several forums ,incredibly this.same group is saying that Mr. Lucas Matthyesse victory was due to him using peds! According to them ” Brutha lamont was, robbed.because Lucas Matthyesse used the needle to get his kayo. Yes believe it or not thats out t can makehere. There is no way Canelo can make welter weight. That’s,just being blatantly ignorant. Mr. Mayweather CAN make 154lbs. He has done it. He doesn’t need babysitters to coddle him. As for Canelo he obviously is lookinfg for abig payday before Mayweather decides to call it a wrap. That’s just business. For better or worse Mayweather IS the money magnet, thanks to careful matchmaking and shrewd promoting as well as not bery knowledgable fanbase. Canelo WILL fight the other gentlemen mentioned because it’s unavoidable. He took the risk admirably to fight, trout and his gamble paid off. He willbe a better fighterr bevause of it. Superman? Honestly a bit over the top. But he IS a good fighter. So is trout., Trpit is a class avt. The dissenters could take lessons from him. Also find better things to do with your 70 dollars to pay to see a scripted Mayweather “event”.

PUBLIC E – So you think it is alright that Mayweather has a belt at 154 that he won in 2012 but won’t defend it? That is GREAT for boxing. Either defend it or vacate it. I believe there should be a catchweight at 150 to even it out and a rehydration clause in the low to mid 160’s. Yes, I would love to see him fight GGG down the road but saying he should fight Rosado is comical! And please realize Canelo is 22 years of age and still 4-5 years from his prime!

Posted May 20, 2013 9:21 am

curtley

Public E its not cheating if you make weight as that’s just the way it is with day before weigh ins, what is cheating is not making weight like Floyd vs JMM. The fact is that Floyd is number 1 and has said he will fight Canelo at 147 which is a weight that the Mexican just can’t make which means the fight will not happen.

Posted May 20, 2013 9:06 am

Public E

King, what part of Mayweather fights at 147lbs and Canelo comes into his 154lb matches weighing well over 172+lbs???? Mayweather doesn’t need do nothing Canelo at this stage of his career.. Canelo needs to get his Cheating ASSSS up to his true weight Class and fight guys his size like Quinlin, GGG, Rosado and stop chasing these naturally smaller guys… like a Chicken sht Chihuahua….

Posted May 20, 2013 8:53 am

It’s funny to see all these Canelo haters !! But if Trout would’ve won he would get full credit when he came in weighing 171 and it was Canelo first time he came in weighing 170+ and he only did it to match weight with the bigger trout. Cmon sons!!!! NEXT!

Posted May 20, 2013 8:49 am

Pffft

I think if anyone knows who won or lost that fight it would be the men involved in the fight themselves. Trout was undefeated and he honourably acknowledged that HE was outdone by Canelo. Not one argument to say he thought he’d won it. To come from a previously undefeated fighter I think that says it all. I’ve watched the fight 3 times. Canelo won. Trout is awesome and tricky and didn’t make it easy and won’t make it easy for anyone. I don’t see why people are so quick to p*ss on Canelo’s cheerios about this.

Posted May 20, 2013 8:06 am

Pffft

Are you serious? Did you watch the fight? And even if you did see it how your quote insanely states, you’ve still proven that IF Trout did out-land in pretty much every round, he never really hurt Canelo, like he did to Cotto. I saw it completely differently though, I though Canelo generally had dominance in most rounds, including a knock-down, and more power, and wasn’t truly hurt by Trout. I respect Trout, but people just refuse to give Canelo the fight he deserves. There’s no one in his weightclass apart from Trout and Cotto that can touch him, and he’s battered Trout, shorlty after Trout schooled Cotto, so no wonder as a younger fighter, he’s looking at fighting the guy for the most money, and we all know who that is. Having said that, after a couple more light-middleweight fights, I’d love to see Canelo step up to Middleweight and become P4P champ there.

***

Canelo was out-landed and outworked in this fight. He didn’t deserve the victory.

Floyd’s 2 fights at 154 in 17 years of professional boxing do more to show that he’s BEST at 147 than they brand him a 154 pounder…People want to see Floyd in with everybody from Matthysee to GGG and the reality is Mayweather knows he’s a better fighter at WW… Canelos big rehydrations have smartly given him pause, Floyd’s given no allowances for being a small WW and a fighter on the wrong side of 30, he’s just asked to escalate his risk level in order to satisfy his detractors appetite for punishment… If he has not established his quality and dominance over 5 divisions how is Canelo going to solve that? His resume is NOT ANYTHING special and the bulk of his fights have been against guys who were not native to his division….?????? The only reason is his size which is not a marker of skills but it’s a distinct physical advantage that he works hard to maintain hence boiling down to 154 then blowing up to 172… Let him shave off some pounds if he wants the fight…

Posted May 20, 2013 7:50 am

Mr. Stretch

Ghost I hear you and I understand completely but you seem to be against Floyd more than anything else. Manny fought for a belt at 154 as well but the playing field seems to be different for him. Let’s be real here, any fighter on any given day could beat Floyd that individual just have to want it bad enough and believe in himself and put in the work necessary along with a viable game plan. Perhaps you could justify why is Manny fighting a JWW versus a WW? Perhaps we should have Floyd fight Andre Ward at SMW because he poses the greatest threat of beating Floyd.

Posted May 20, 2013 7:30 am

Ghost

Lara would be easy pickings, Lara the scrub with 2 draws an a loss in his last 5 fights lol.

Posted May 20, 2013 7:02 am

Ghost

The reason ppl think Floyd should move up is he already moved up before an fought at 154. Whatever Floyd does he needs to stop picking the easy fights an stop avoiding the real guys who might have a chance. Manny would have beat Floyd if that fight would have happened.

Posted May 20, 2013 7:01 am

Mr. Stretch

People I’m confused just a little and I hope someone could help me clarify one thing. Canelo is the one calling out Floyd to fight him, Floyd is a welterweight but Canelo wants Floyd to come up to his ( Canelo’s) weight class for the fight and everyone seems to be okay with that? Apart from wanting to see Floyd lose by any means, tell me why shouldn’t Canelo be the one coming down in weight? And please don’t say because Floyd fought at 154 against Cotto everyone knows he is really a JWW fighting at WW.

Posted May 20, 2013 6:56 am

Public Enemy

How about this Super Zero fighting his Mandatory Cuban Lara that he’s been avoiding for over a year?? that would be nice… How about this protected Primma Donna taking on Quinlin, GGG, Rosado? Guys closer to his true size? How about this 172+lb Cheater taking on Andre Ward? Super Hero??? ROFLM-True Latino-AO…..

If it’s PFB then it has to be @ 154Lb & not 147. If Floyd was to fight Matthysse then he would want that one @ light-middleweight(154Lb) He sure is the 21st century version of Ray Leonard who played the same game with Donny La Londe. Mayweather likes the adulation of being the Worlds #1 P4P Boxer, but has to make his own rules to achieve it. I say put him in with Canelo @ 154!

What they say about this ggg is the same thing said about trout before Canelo took the fight and guess what he took the fight and defeated him, I mean forget about the bad scoring we know it wasn’t scored right but the winner was the correct one, again you don’t get credit for throwing a million punches you get credit for landing punches, I would love to hear what this Canelo hater sais if Canelo were to fight and beat ggg, probly something like Canelo landed lucky shots triple g wasn’t himself that night is Canelo using peds lol

Floyd is a beast but realistically we can’t call him the goat I mean it would be unfair to fighters that fight anyone and everyone and it’s true mayweather last few fights were all carefully picked including the cotto fight with him being past his prime, all the great fighter lose fights because they fight the best out there

Not every guy out there is man enough to take a tuff fight every time out like Abner Mares.

***

When was the last time Canelo fought someone outweighing him by 26 pounds? Do you think he ever will? If so, then that would mean Canelo would be fighting someone weighing 198 lbs. In other words, a cruiserweight. Let’s put him in with WBA cruiserweight champion Guillermo Jones and see how he does in giving up 26 pounds.
