I see Good

PEEJ Thats how much you KNOW you IDIOT.. the JUDGE that had the rediculous score card was from the WBA, Trouts sanctioning body NOT the WBC. get your facts straight.

“Canelo landed the BETTER Punches but Trout WON more rounds. SO Trout WON the Fight. That’s how Boxing works.” No, that’s not how boxing works. Three judges score the fight then the outcome is based on the judges scorecards. Canelo won. PLEASE LEARN MORE ABOUT BOXING!

““Canelo WON by ROBBERY just as I predicted!!!!! ” Hissydamus, you better pay attention to what I say. After all, my prediction record over the past year has been much better than yours.

Agendas, Miastomper, and dude with that horrible Puerto Rican nonsensical name — why don’t you three stick to discussing this stuff at your Clan meetings, and keep your bigotry off public sites.

Posted April 22, 2013 4:55 pm

The fight was definitely closer than the scores indidcated! If it wasnt for the knockdown it prob woulda been a draw. Canelo landed harder claener shouts but he only fought in spurts! Trout carried the fight but you cant win with just a jab. Whoever scored it 118-109 needs never to score another fight! Plus they gave canelo the belts before the decision was announced! Odd?

Trout blew the fight, his great jab he used but two feet away from his opponent. He fought scared to much respect. The boxing clinic he put on Cotto was not apply in the Canelo fight. Trout needs to display his skill in everyfight. He needs another trainer that takes his to a new level , Canelo needs the same remedy. 80’s fighters and champion were more skillful that today’s fighters. These fighter of today are more charismatic than fighters.

It makes no sence to give Trout a rematch. He doesnt draw and its high risk no reward. That’s why he had such a hard time getting big fights to begin with.

Posted April 22, 2013 3:55 am

Hissydalgo-I don’t care WHAT Trout SAID. I care about what the matchup SAID. Canelo landed the BETTER Punches but Trout WON more rounds. SO Trout WON the Fight. That’s how Boxing works.

Posted April 22, 2013 1:03 am

“Canelo WON by ROBBERY just as I predicted!!!!! ” Shut up, Braggadamus. Even after the fight Trout did not say or even indicate he thought he won the fight. He merely said he thought the scores should have been closer. If he thought he got robbed he would have said so. But he didn’t. Trout believes he lost. That’s why he’s not arguing. You should believe that too.

How did Canelo lose lol people are nuts lol! Just like I said trout is trash lol

Trout was reduced to just flickering jabs..the 7th round was the reason he kept his other guns in his holster..yeah he tried to be more offensive in the later rounds but still defensively responsible by not over committing to much wich wasn’t gonna be good enough to score him any brownie points..anywayz,,good fight, fan of both fighters, looking forward watching these guys in the ring again.

“Sadly, I still see the judges giving the fight to Canelo if it went the 12 rounds no matter what happened. That’s the problem and what takes away from Canelo’s performance that night.”……SPOT ON!!!

SREDMOND – I agree somewhat. Canelo’s head movement was surprising to Trout. What he should have done was commit to the body, because it was wide open. He landed a couple of shots, but he mainly kept trying to hit Canelo’s head with the jab. Sadly, I still see the judges giving the fight to Canelo if it went the 12 rounds no matter what happened. That’s the problem and what takes away from Canelo’s performance that night.

Scoring by one judge was crazy but if Trout came in looking to “just get by Canelo” he deserved to lose.. He was aware of what it was gonna take but could not produce the effort… He fought well but in the end his lack of “pop” cost him that bout coupled with Alvarez being more elusive than expected.. Trout does not deserve an immediate rematch he should scrap his way back into position, a couple of fights against a Kirkland or Angulo..

Posted April 21, 2013 5:39 pm

The Prince

Trout deserves a rematch, but he won’t get it. Based on what happens May 4th, Golden Boy is looking towards a Mayweather fight, a Guerrero fight, or a Cotto fight. Trout, himself, have nothing to worry about. Because lot of people thought he won, and he remained humble after the fight, he’ll get more opportunities to shine. Trout didn’t lose fans yesterday, he gained some. And everybody knows that no matter what happened, Trout wasn’t getting a decision in the hostile Pro-Mexican arena in Texas.

Trout cannot even campaign for a victory so why would anyone else? He’s not some hapless guy who cannot advocate for himself due to a language barrier he knows he came up short and he’s accepting it and reviewing his mistakes…This was not even close to a robbery, one card was ridiculous but the right man won… Move on!

the worst i can do to Public Enema is allow him to rant, rave, and foam at the mouth with impunity. that way, he provides all the evidence necessary to convict him of being an utter and absolute Imbecile . . . and a pretty sad, bitter, and pathetic individual, to boot.

MNboxingFAN – Sean

The fight was closer than the judges scores had it. Personally I had it a draw. Trout landed more and controlled more rounds, but Canelo landed the harder shots and got the knock down. Trout will have to earn his way back to Canelo though. So the question is… who does he fight to get there?

Posted April 21, 2013 3:07 pm

Publc Enemy is blind because his notorious racism. The thing is that Trout recognized that Canelo was the best. Maybe Public Enemy has a low-evolved brain to noticed this categoric fact. Sorry.

Prof Konje

A rematch…Yes. But not in Texas and no open scoring. A good fight that could have gone either way but I do not agree with some of the wide scoring especially on the one judge’s card.

It’s Me, Ernie

The funny part is Trout accepted the defeat, he knows he didn’t do enough but the nuthuggers haven’t, LMFAO!…

Posted April 21, 2013 2:27 pm

Trout landed MORE!! its subjective as to who landed the better shots. Canelo landed a few good shots that made the pro Canelo crowd lose their minds! For this he deserves such a lopsided win? Canelo hardly landed just like Trout barely landed, Trout just happened to look worse being that he was taller & firing more blanks. Trout had a lackluster style even though he was the busier, Trout MUST work on accuracy in the gym and get rid of that lazy style. I had only seen highlights of him, WOW highlights really do paint a different picture! Yet and still REMATCH :-D.

Posted April 21, 2013 1:34 pm

PEEJ….good point!…probably was always there….

Posted April 21, 2013 1:20 pm

A REMATCH should DEFINITELY be in order!! But I doubt Team Alvarez will grant “No Doubt” the chance to vindicate himself in a new environment, cuz the results could be quite different being that these guys know each other VERY much better with different judges. Trout DESERVES a rematch, with all this foolish open scoring, lets keep it a secret till the very end. Then each fighter can implement their strategies @ different stages of the fight as each planned!….to be continued!!

Posted April 21, 2013 1:18 pm

No way was the fight close. Canelo made Trout miss all night long. Trout was exposed.

Give this 22 year old kid a break FFS!

If he was American or British, you’d be hanging off his nutsack!

Posted April 21, 2013 1:18 pm

Canelo may have always had this defense he’s just never had to show it because he has been fighting much smaller fighters until last night

Posted April 21, 2013 1:08 pm

I’m not saying it was a robbery but this fight could of gone either way. First off open scoring is terrible. The judges for this fight where terrible. Canelo showed great head movement but the problem with Canelo is that he does not fight the whole round. That will cost him against a busier fighter. I think a rematch with non WBC officials and we could get a different out come.

Posted April 21, 2013 1:07 pm

Canelo has improved with his defense!! It shows he’s not satisfied with the way he was!! When you get a fighter like this, it shows that the sky is the limit!! Fans wont be able to accurately predict the outcome of his future fights if he continues to get better like this, due to the fact he’ll continue improvement all around, next time hopefully with better offence! Guys like this can really turn out to be special in the game….a guy you really cant bet against! Although the fight couldve gone EITHER WAY!!!, Its worth mentioning: Canelo “moves” have improved! He’s still gotta learn how to close the gap more effectively though!!

The El Paso Fight Prophet

Like I said Canelo would win. Every one here is just Sour at the Fact Canelo was better than expected. Now Canelo Can Fight Cotto and Retire Him Properly Via Ko I Predict. I never changed My pick or make double picks like those that claim to be the best. I Believe what we are seeing is a truly great champ in the making. The Kid is just 22 yrs old and already unified and in case you all didn’t notice it was Canelo who adjusted to Trout not Trout to Canelo. No Need for Immediate Rematch here because That can always take place down the line. Right Now Canelo has already Proved Wrong all the Nay Sayers and with his following as seen on Tv will be able to Pick and choose just like Mayweather and this Time you will part will PPV Dollars. You Can take that to the Bank and You heard It Here.

horst fraze

i had canelo by at least 2 rounds, this was no robbery.

Posted April 21, 2013 12:36 pm

I’m not arguing if you had Canelo winning. I thought Trout won by a round or 2 but the rounds where so close that you could of given them to Canelo also. But this was a very close fight and it should warrant an immediate rematch. So they should have a rematch without any WBC officials.

Posted April 21, 2013 12:21 pm

i can understand why Trout would want a rematch but what about the rest of us? he neglected to display anything truly compelling to warrrant an immediate rematch. perhaps v. another opponent. in fact, now that Canelo has disposed of Trout let’s hear the clamor for Lara to face Trout . . . C’mon?!

Posted April 21, 2013 12:17 pm

boxtra chats so much poo

Boxtra you called a trout knockout but once you heared the open scoring you changed your mind asswipe

Posted April 21, 2013 11:59 am

except that it was not a robbery :)

Posted April 21, 2013 11:54 am

I think the fight showed more what trout didn’t have than anything. Canelo is young and strong which we knew already. Trout didn’t look strong, he looked weak and timid. I think trout had the right plan box and stay out of range of the power early but when canelo tired and rested during the lulls is when trout really didn’t get much done. Truth is neither fighter landed very well, both missed a lot of punches. If anything Canelo should have been able to mount a late attack and take out trout but he couldn’t which showed Canelo needs to work on his game as well. Trout needs to earn a rematch, he had a shot and he really didn’t look pysically prepaired to mount an attack against cancelo. I wanted the hype job james kirkland to eat some dirt so lets have a nice tune up fight against kirkland if he still fighting and get him knocked out again. Canelo still needs learn some things so I think he should fight couple more times at least before he fights Mayweather or Martinez.
