People are funny man. Cotto fans are stuck on his legacy as a fighter….mind you this is comin from a HUGE Cotto fan. He’s been my top 3 fighters for at least 10 years but the thing is Cotto has trouble with boxers. always has. Has nothin to do with Austin bein left handed he is just a PURE BOXER. Cotto boxes about 3 rounds every fight and never continues it. People are fogettin that styles make fights and are hung up on Trout not bein a major super star in boxing so this automatically puts him in the loss column. If you pay attention and KNOW boxin you would know that Trouts last 7 opponents have only landed a COMBINED 18% of total punches. Cotto will box about 3 rounds out of this fight, win maybe 2 of those and snag about 2 DOMINANT rounds…the rest will go to Trout in a beautiful boxing clinic. Stardom has NOTHING to do with skill in this sport. Trout by UD.Posted September 10, 2012 1:14 pm
Listen no one really thought Mayweather was going to knock cotto out. We all thought there was the chance it could happen. And honestly Mayweather was going for the knockout. He was trying to KNOCK COTTO OUT. He was putting combinations together ALL NIGHT LONG. He stood directly in front of Cotto and fought him like a man, combination after combination. Right hooks galore. Guess what though? Mayweather doesn’t hit that hard, and Cotto is one of the toughest dudes out there. Somehow, he wasn’t breaking down as the fight went on. His face was still beat up pretty bad though and he clearly lost the fight.Posted September 5, 2012 5:49 am
TROUT IS RIGHT, THERE SHOULD NOT BE EXCUSES AFTER THE FIGHT.
JUST LIKE PAC AFTER HE BEAT ALL ELITE BOXERS IN EVERY DIVISION, THERE SHOULD BE EXCUSES.
EXCUSES ARE INVENTED TO MAKE FLOYD LOOKS GOOD AND PAC LOOKS BAD.
COMPARING THE PERFORMANCE OF BOTH PAC AND FLOYD AGAINST THEIR COMMON OPPONENTS ARE BEING KEPT UNDER THE RUG TO HIDE THE BIG GAP BETWEEN THE TWO.
CATCHWEIGHT AND PERD ISSUES MEAN : ENVY, JEALOUS AND SCARED.Posted September 5, 2012 12:45 am
There was no “weight issue” forthe Pac fight. Cotto didn’t out grow the ww division, he left because he couldn’t beat Pacquiao…at any weight! Emanuel Steward (cotto’s former trainer) said that Cotto had no trouble making ww. He weighed in at 146lbs for his fight with Clottey. Stop with that BS already, and just accept that he lost to a better fighter.Posted September 4, 2012 10:32 pm
whiteman in denial ali was truly the greatest
trout wins this cotto will not have any more big wins he’s finishedPosted September 4, 2012 10:25 pm
Cotto is a fantastic fighter. Austin Trout is a fantastic Boxer. Austin reminds me of Pernell Whitiker, you know Pernell got the wrap of being a boring fighter. Well how many titles did he win. Thats what I love about Trout, he dosent have to knock you out, he will give you a boxing lesson, if he cant knock you out, he has this wonderful thing called patience, you dont see that much anymore. He is unintimidated and calm under pressure, being the underdog is just fine with him. On December 1st the world is going to find out who Austin Trout is. God Bles you Austin, Bring another W back to Las Cruces.Posted September 4, 2012 9:11 pm
Trout is going to destroy Cotto. He’s too big, fast, young, southpaw and it’s time for a changing of the guard. It’s been nice Cotto. I have loved you’re fights, but it’s time to retire and enjoy you’re fruits of labor. Trout by unanimous decision or late round stoppage. Mark my wordPosted September 4, 2012 9:06 pm
I just read comments the other day where ESB fans said Cotto cherrypicked his opponents.. What BS! Trout is a legitimate contender. Good for Cotto taking this fight and good for Trout in stepping up. Cotto should win this one, but I don’t know how many fights he has left in him. He’s only 31 or something, but he’s been in a lot of wars.Posted September 4, 2012 4:33 pm

Cotto is going to hurt Trout OYEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Posted September 4, 2012 4:20 pm
This deserves one more “Amen”Posted September 4, 2012 2:33 pm
Don’t think I have ever heard Cotto complain when he took an L. He never complained after the Margacheato fight and didn’t complain about the weight issue with PAC. He does what he does, leaves it in the ring and continuesPosted September 4, 2012 2:25 pm
sophia….trout wanted this fight soooo bad,hes been calling out the likes of cotto, canelo, mayweather and so on.He feels he deserves to be up there with those calibur type of a class fighters(canelo b+)so haymen isnt rushing him.Trout is good but really who has he fought besides delvin rodriguez??Im puerto rican and never heard of delvin…I saw when they fought…twice.and in both fights i was never impressed with trout..cotto would of destroyed delvin before the 7th rd.But anyway its going to be a good fight and a rude awakening for trout..I see the outcome being like another trinidad vs william joppy..nobody new the bigger boxer joppy but he was supposeply good as hell..ready for all champs…then felix trinidad was knockin him silly in the ring..kod him a couple times and the didnt go past 6 rounds i believe…cotto is way to good and experienced and talented…truly a ring king along with mayweather…this will just be learning experience for the young hungry trout…trout will lose by ko…its just will he learn from it…and become better or never be the same again…we will see.Posted September 4, 2012 1:51 pm
Alfonso Heyman shouldn`t rush Trout into a fight with Cotto because Trout has a lot of potential. He`s a very good defensive fighter who can win rounds on his defense alone.Sometimes he is too defensive and that does not make for action fights and so people have a tendency to write him off and overlook him. But he has fast hands and when he does go on the offensive he attacks with speedy outbursts and thumping uppercuts which Cotto is very susceptible to.His movement, footwork and speed confused the veteran Rodriguez.Trout`s problem is putting the two,his solid defense together with his fast and speedy offense. He needs a good mentor.Posted September 4, 2012 12:03 pm
EASY FIGHT FOR COTTO NOT IN THE SAME CLASS.Posted September 4, 2012 10:41 am
i see cotto ko this boyPosted September 4, 2012 10:38 am
Amen. He doesn’t have to worry about excuses. What he has to worry about is not getting murdered to the body.Posted September 4, 2012 9:31 am
“If” Trout beats Cotto then he’s 100% in the equation @ 154LB & Canelo can’t avoid him if he wants #1 status. Alverez vs Trout could generate massive $’s in the USA as someone’s 0 would have to go & with both WBA & WBC titles on the line would be the best unification at light-middleweight. As you can see I’m hoping for a Trout win!Posted September 4, 2012 4:22 am
