Damn James Toney is still fighting? Isnt he like 75 years old?Posted April 16, 2013 5:50 pm
RETIRE RETIRE RETIRE RETIRE!!! Get my drift TONEY? No just as i thought.Posted April 13, 2013 6:42 pm
I can’t say I’ve heard that one about Geale vs Green but that is ridiculous. I agree with the commentator comment especially the one’s who give themselves nicknames like ‘The Hammer’. I also wonder if some are in the pocket of fighters like Barry Michael. Respect as a fighter but he gets very bias towards the commentary. Ring announcers like Matthew Campbell who was an AFL player and commentator, I get where your coming from. The dilemma with these rugby players having one off fights is that it does expose the casual fan to boxing which is good. But to us ‘real’ fans we see it as a joke and usually a set up. Of course there is easy money made out of it for us hardcore fans. ;-)Posted April 12, 2013 12:30 pm
No more lights out more like James ” Fat Boyyyy ” Toney.Posted April 12, 2013 10:04 am
No I do not agree with the quote from the Green fight (;-) I know what you were getting at). Browne KTFO Toney only gets a name on his record while the other so called contenders and prospects run from ‘Big Daddy’ because of his power. I apologise for the “w@nker” statement too. I think we agree on a lot of things other than your original insinuation that Australian judging is more corrupt than anywhere else. We are just coming at it in different directions.Posted April 12, 2013 9:30 am
When is James and Roy gonna give it up. I heard Terry Norris speak and his terrible and I felt bad for him cause I loved the guy in the ring and it’s a damn shame that his health is not too good cause of boxing.Posted April 12, 2013 9:18 am
Do you believe that by Browne defeating a Legend
He therefore becomes a Legend?
No . . .
let’s keep it in PerspectivePosted April 12, 2013 7:50 am
DMX you sound like a Green hater who will hang his hat on any conspiracy theory to sound justifiable. Agree in their prime RJJ wipes the floor with Green, however on that night Green knocked him senseless. BTW Browne KO’s Toney brutally.Posted April 12, 2013 7:46 am
Then realising he may win this, decided to do his best Rocky Balboa / Side of meat impression
Jones was unfazed! Held his hands up high as wee Danny flailed away
All this in front of the nodding referee
Any other Country that would warrant a warning or at least the referee to step in
This referee was quitely muttering for Green to try going down stairs
Don’t believe me?
If you take anything away from this
Thanks!Posted April 12, 2013 6:51 am
DMX the w@nker, tell me which Australians got gifts again. SBW is a Kiwi knucklehead and RJJ was a mess after that temple shot from Green and rightfully stopped. The only ref stoppage that was dubious came years ago when Leapai got a TKO against Walker. If you want a fair go internationally, then Australia is the place to fight.Posted April 12, 2013 4:35 am
he is fighting a former world kickboxing champion , who switched to boxing and browne is starting to get a decent record if he hits toney with a decent shot , good night toney !!Posted April 12, 2013 4:35 am
The Low Blow !
Carl you need a good flicking !Posted April 11, 2013 9:08 pm
The sad thing is that Toney thinks he talks straight and he thinks he is coherent and makes sense. He does not realize he is slurring and non communicative. He thinks he is okay. That is the mistake. His is not okay.
jamey ton of eyy is a boring piece of featherfisted crap. everyone hopes he’ll get a beating for boxings good. cheap btch he is. and he even calls himself a world champion holding a meaningless WBF trinket!!! what a cheap clown.Posted April 11, 2013 7:06 pm
Yet another embarrassing outing by Toney. Win or lose his continuing career, spiked by disgraceful use of PEDs in two fights including a world title bout, is nothing to celebrate.Posted April 11, 2013 6:23 pm
Young Toney was an incredible fighter. I only hope that he will not be hurt by a guy who looks like escaping from a penitentary… like was probaby his ancesters.Posted April 11, 2013 6:12 pm
Toney, browne, promoted by mick gatto, can u fit anymore thugs in that room hahaPosted April 11, 2013 5:41 pm

This is just sad. James “Lights-Out” Toney (74-7-3, 2 NC 2 with KO’s 45), an former middleweight world champion, super middleweight world champion, cruiserweight champion and Pound for Pound legend as well is now 44 years old, far past his original weight class and prime and is in for getting his head badly beaten. Beaten up by an much larger, 11 year younger, hard hitting and undefeated Lucas Brown (15-0-0 KO’s 14). Mostly regarded as an unknown Australian heavyweight Contender with no name victory on his record yet and started late his boxing career and most likely will not achieve much bigger thing in his PRO career until his age has caught up with him in about 4-5 years of time. Toney is too old and to small to fighting as a heavyweight and he haven’t been that good in the ring since 2006 against Hasim Rahman and Samuel Peter. That’s 6 years ago and in his last top fight back in 2011 as a cruiserweight (what he should rather be then a heavyweight) ended up in a disaster and he took large amounts of punishment for 12 rounds against WBA world cruiserweight champion Denis Lebedev. Even if Brown is very limited in skills, he is much bigger, naturally heavier, stronger and hits a lot harder then Toney and Toney is nowadays not fast, l have slick moves a great defence and counter work and his once iron chin have as well grown old so why getting beat up like this against an unknown fighter? James Toney was one of the very best fighters in the world between 1993-2006 and have fought some very great fighters over the years (Roy Jones Jr, Evander Holyfield, Michael Nunn, Reggie Johnson, Mike McCallum, Iran Barkley, Montell Griffin, Vassiliy Jirov, John Ruiz, Hasim Rahman etc) Toney have not been a recognised world champion since 2003 and he will never ever become that again so why just fighting on and getting beaten up for the moneys? He could have become a great boxing trainer instead and worked with promising talents with all his old school boxing skills. Toney will have a little chance against Lucas Brown to win.Posted April 11, 2013 12:51 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!
Oh well it was nice knowing ya Toney. Browne will take his head off and that will make even more of the heavy weight division run from ‘Big Daddy’. I am enjoying these big names (albeit past their best) coming to Australia in the last few years.Posted April 11, 2013 8:20 am
Retire, fat piece of garbage.Posted April 11, 2013 6:45 am
skill vs brawn. Problem is the skiied guy is a dinosaur but Browne has faced no one to date. Interested in the outcomePosted April 11, 2013 6:04 am
I have respect for what Toney has achieved. Browne is a heavy-handed mofo and this could be an interesting one. Not rating it as a top-level fight but potentially most interesting!Posted April 11, 2013 5:39 am
Toney is the man..Posted April 11, 2013 2:25 am
