I took Donaire a YEAR before the Fight was even made and I stand by MY pick.

I am going with Donaire by brutal KO in the mid rounds, Rigo has mad skills, but his chin is very questionable, and with him fighting Donaire we pretty well got our answer already, Greetings to the GREAT TE TUMBO-peace

“KOrnerman : Tark mate theres a good reason why Rigo went pro so late, he’s got a weak chin”
Actually, common sense would say it had more to do with him being Cuban and having to defect (especially given his profile which would’ve made it even harder for him to sneak away).

this fight is going to be bad ass….donito late ko

Rigo is good but not that good to have a chance with a consummate pro like Donaire. The cuban will fight to avoid Nonito’s left and will be taken out by Donaire’s under rated but equally lethal right – remember Siderenko and Nishioka? Rigo’s over-hyped career ends with this coming fight via brutal stoppage in the middle rounds – unless he runs around throughout the fight after a taste of Nonito’s left.

@ Miatestomper,This. VADA wonder why conte all of a sudden disappeared(Doesn’t take a genius to figure out why).

“Money” is smart and Donaire is the smart choice. like virtually every great Cuban amateur before him, Rigondeaux will wilt in the heat and intensity v. an experienced and lethal pro like Donaire. Rigondeaux can only win on the scorecards but i don’t think Nonito lets him do it. No Way. Donaire isn’t a pure boxer but he’s no plodder either. he’s got the speed and confidence to nail Rigondeaux cold and too many reality-checks like those will overwhelm Rigondeaux by 10. Donaire by KO is the smart choice.

For decades, CUBA has had the best amature fighters in the world!!!
Rigo is the most decorated CUBAN AMATURE to ever enter the pro ranks. Rigo has not lost a fight since 2004 and I dont beleive he will lose to NONITO! Come April 13th you will witness a new era in boxing as a pro fighter with only 12 fights will become P4P ONE OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD!

Tark mate theres a good reason why Rigo went pro so late, he’s got a weak chin and this will be proven when he fights The Flash, Flash KO round 4 or 5,easy.

Bla bla bla …too all those boxing fans that were saying how donair is ducking rigo why are you complaining about donairs weight???? You asked for the fight now watch it and will see how your rigo will fare against the one who “ducked” him!!

Floyd has one of the best boxing minds in fistic history, but I’m going to disagree with him… This fight is going to be tough… Donaire by decision, and it won’t be easy.

Rigondeaux was the best amateur boxer anybody ever saw. I know this is the pro game, but Rigo has adapted way ahead of schedule — much like Donaire himself showed when he dominated and flattened the heavily favored Darchinyan when he had only about 17 fights — 6 or 7 years ago. He’s even better now of course.

no s h i t

As I’ve said Donaire has always had the advantage against his opponents, except may against Metabula who was just awkward. Donaire needs to fight someone like Mares who will push his midget ass around. Quit picking on mini midgets.

You do.

The Mad Scientist

Im not that high on Rigo but on hindsight he’s by far the most skilled fighter Donaire has face..Nonito looks lost when his opponents don’t come straight at him so I wouldn’t be shocked if the Cuban frustrates Donaire and makes him follow him into a huge shot.

Supreme Court

Rigo has only 11 pro fights, therefore he is a novice….Right?
How many amateur fights had he banked in?
Does that count at all?
If Rigo was such an “easy money” (Broner), then why Donaire needed to be coerced to take the fight?
Rigo is one of the most accomplished amateur fighter in boxing history, and the pack of morons are here to suggest it will be a cake walk….

So a guy that does year round Olympic style testing is doped up. This guy knows nothing bout boxing

The Prince

I agree. Rigondeaux is a good boxer, but he has the same problem some good technical boxers have: He thinks too much, and waits too long. All Donaire has to do is press the attack and he might stop Rigondaeux.

no clue

Rigo is vulnerable to left hooks.. he got rocked two times in his last fight against a lesser opponent than Donaire.. He is an unfledged pro .. Donaire is a complete pro with lights out power.. no brainer pick for Donaire

Posted April 5, 2013 6:47 pm

Theres no way hes taking the Flashes shots, Donaire by brutal KO round 4 or 5.

Posted April 5, 2013 6:17 pm

I doubt the weight is what Floyd is thinking of here. Rigo is just not proven and he did get rocked a couple of times last time out, so you have to put your $$ on the proven fighter. BUT, if the cuban can take Donaire’s shots, this could be the closest thing to a miniature version of Roy Jones vs Floyd Mayweather, where Donaire is a devastating puncher with incredible physical talents and Rigo has sublime defensive skills, great stamina, a bit of a mean streak in him and is a superior technical fighter.
IF Rigo had 30 fights instead of 11 right now, I don’t know that Floyd would still be picking Nonito. Just the fact that he’s talking about it says a lot about how intriguing this fight is. AND I HAVE TICKETS IN HAND:):):):)

arroyo bob

this complaining about size is lame. One of the problem is the time between the weigh-in and the bell. So address that and stop griping because one fighter is taller or has longer arms than the other. It didnt seem to bother Dwight Qwai.

Posted April 5, 2013 6:12 pm

Rigo’s lazy jab will be the end of him.

I like Rigo and all but this fight could seriously put an end to his career if he gets KO’d.

Posted April 5, 2013 5:44 pm

I think it’s admirable for Rigo to fight at his natural weight division instead of rehydrating and dwarfing the competition, but unfortunately that’s the business nowadays and admiration isn’t going to help him on fight night. Good luck Rigo, you’re gonna need it!

if Donaire does win it will be by KO and that’s my prediction. Donaire simply packs too much talent and pro experience for Rigondeaux to enjoy anything more than momentary technical superiority. in between he’ll be backpedaling and clinching for his pro life. with only a handful of pro bouts under his belt, he’s simply to green for a tested veteran like Donaire.

Posted April 5, 2013 4:52 pm

I really hope, Rigondeaux wins this one. Not because I don’t like Donaire, but I ‘m rooting for the more underdog fighter.
Apart of that: When watching the videos, I’ve got the impression, that rigondeaux is faster and quicker than Donaire. How do you seee it, guys?

Did Marroquin really “stagger” Rigondeaux a “couple of times” ? I didn’t see the fight. If someone of Marroquin’s accomplishments can stagger Rigondeaux, Donaire should be able to do that and more.

Posted April 5, 2013 4:08 pm

Doesn’t Donaire look like 20 pounds heavier than Rigo ? I guess that must be the Conte undetectable Protien Shake

Posted April 5, 2013 3:55 pm

ooh oh…..look out boxtradamus, some competition here.
