Getty wants Pacquiao aides to be disciplined by the NSAC
By Jeff Sorby: Getty images are reportedly hoping that the Nevada State Athletic Commission discipline Manny Pacquiao aides Buboy Fernandez and Michael Koncz for them allegedly assaulting Getty photographer Art Bello last Saturday night after Pacquiao had been knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez. Bello was attempting to take photos of Pacquiao while he was still down on the canvas and badly hurt. Koncz and Buboy then allegedly assaulted Bello when he was attempting to get shots of Pacquiao.
Bello only requested that he receive an apology from Buboy and Koncz, and he chose not to contact the Police about the incident. Buboy reportedly apologized earlier today.
Here’s what Boboy said in an apology he sent to philboxing.com:
“I just want to reach out to the guy [Bello] and say I am truly sorry but I do not know how to reach him…I think I reacted that way because I was confused and did not know how to react after seeing for the first time my best friend and benefactor flat out on the canvas and not moving at all.”
The Nevada State Athletic Commission will be looking into this matter and they will possibly discipline Koncz and Buboy if they find evidence that they assaulted Bello. They could be suspended or fined, according to RingTV.
In still photos that were taken in sequence of the incident you can see Koncz grabbing Bello and then Buboy appearing to kick in the direction of Bello.
